DataDirector - Private Schools QUICKLY ACCESS the data you need for systems, schools, and classrooms

Every private school demands excellence. However, the path to this higher standard may vary from school to school. That s why Riverside Publishing offers you a wide variety of high-quality assessments and data management tools to support your students academic achievement. The DataDirector Difference DataDirector provides innovative online data management and a fast, powerful decision-support system for twentyfirst century learning. Designed to improve performance by helping private school educators meet the needs of elementary and secondary students, DataDirector helps make sense of all data, from screening and classroom-based assessments to benchmark and summative tests. Simple assessment systems are limited to creating, viewing, and analyzing assessment data. DataDirector allows private school educators to combine multiple data types over time to maximize reporting and answer complex questions like Who are our most qualified teachers and highest performing students, and do we have the best accelerated curriculum in place to drive their success? DEVELOPED BY EDUCATORS FOR EDUCATORS Developed by a team with many years of administrative and classroom experience, DataDirector is easy to use and available anytime, anywhere. We combine your current resources into a coherent, standards-based solution.

An easy-to-use interface lets you quickly access the information you need. Make Sense of Complex Data DataDirector s powerful tools provide insight into every student. DataDirector integrates data from many sources, including: Entrance and exit exams Demographic information and grades System-administered tests Daily classroom assessments given by teachers Build a Culture of Data-Driven Decision Making At the system, school, and classroom level, private school educators can now analyze and create custom reports on: Patterns and needs Enrichment and remediation programs Areas for further professional development Improve Collaboration Across Your System Private school educators can easily facilitate dialogue between teachers and schools to share best practices and identify what works and what does not. DataDirector customers have seen the results they are looking for more effective programs, improved teaching practice, and increased student success. Quick Access to Your Data! DataDirector gets you to the data you need in just a few steps whether it s through a custom report you create, or a pre-built report template we provide. A system or region administrator interested in math scores can: Click 1: Select the Reports tab. Click 2: Select an Accelerated Students in Math System-Wide custom report. A principal checking on an after-school reading program can: Click 1: Select the Reports tab. Click 2: Select an After-School Reading Intervention and Student Improvement custom report. A teacher reviewing progress against system standards can: Click 1: Select the Exams tab. Click 2: Select the Classroom Summary pre-built report.

CREATE and GRADE Your Own Assessments DataDirector offers the ability to create exams, quizzes, and worksheets in a variety of ways. Utilize DataDirector s exam module to develop exams using: Assess2Know Benchmark and Classroom item banks. Items private school educators build on their own using simple and easy-to-use exam generation tools. An answer key and item alignment from a paper test already used. After developing an exam, quickly create answer documents for paper administered tests or administer the same exams online via our new online testing module. Answer documents for exams administered via paper-and-pencil may be scanned into the system for immediate scoring and reporting. Results for online administration are also available instantaneously to guide instruction. Assess2Know Benchmark Item Bank The Assess2Know Benchmark item bank includes math, reading and language arts, social studies, and science items for multiple grade levels. Assess2Know Benchmark item banks are a collection of rigorous multiple choice and constructed response items hand aligned to national standards (NCTM, McREL, NCSS, and AAAS) that were created using a comprehensive development and quality assurance process. The use of such high-quality content in a variety of assessments yields test results that can help administrators, teachers, and students understand each student s strengths and weaknesses and facilitate targeting of system-wide and classroomspecific planning and instruction. Assess2Know Classroom Item Bank The Assess2Know Classroom item bank includes reading, language arts, math, science, and social studies items aligned to state standards *. The Assess2Know Classroom item bank is designed specifically for classroom testing purposes. This bank allows teachers to create tools to measure skills mastery and track student progress relative to curriculum goals at any time during the school year. Both Assess2Know Benchmark and Assess2Know Classroom banks have been developed with careful attention given to test language and readability. Cognitive Difficulty levels and Bloom s Taxonomy are available for all items. Items are added to each bank annually. *Assess2Know Classroom item bank available in select states. Ask your assessment consultant or account executive if content is available in your state.

ANALYZE Your Assessment Data DataDirector provides a powerful set of functions that allow private school educators to access data, view reports, and understand students instructional needs. Much More Than Assessments DataDirector users can view assessments in the system, create new ones using a simple wizard interface, and share them systemwide or site-wide with a grade level, vertical team, department, or individual teacher. DataDirector s integrated item bank makes it easy to create standards-aligned paperand-pencil or online tests; multiple versions of exams; and answer booklets suitable for plain-paper scanning. It is also very simple to align an existing test to standards and enter an answer key to score and report on existing tests. However, when you can integrate assessment and exam data with other data to measure and find patterns in student performance, you have more than just an assessment management system you have a decision engine. DataDirector s complete test analysis tools include: Summary data Student response matrix Test statistics Respondent statistics Frequency distribution Item statistics Item analysis Customers find DataDirector to be an invaluable tool for analysis of data from a system perspective. The reports provide instant information for teachers and administrators.

CREATE and SHARE Your Own Reports Reports DataDirector users can create, view, and share dynamic reports and graphs using a simple report wizard. Users can select any data in the system, including student demographic, assessment, or teacher data. For example, a user can create a report that shows longitudinal student demographic data next to student assessment data next to teacher credentialing information and student program participation. A report card module is also available.

MANAGE Your Programs and Student History Students DataDirector users can quickly locate their elementary and secondary students and view their course scheduling, transcripts, and program affiliation. Clicking on a student s name displays his or her digital cumulative record a longitudinal demographic and assessment history for as long as the student has been in the system. DataDirector provides hands on training and works with you at your own pace to help you move forward as needed. Programs Users can create unlimited programs at any level, such as: Tracking system or school-wide professional development (e.g., which teachers attended and how their students are progressing) Tracking student enrichment programs Linking standardized or pre/post assessments to intervention programs Creating control groups and monitoring program effectiveness over time
