SAFE, SECURE, SAME-SEX DETOX After thorough assessment and evaluation, patients begin a safe and medically supervised course of detox. The Cottages of the Palm Beaches is one of the few affordable treatment facilities to feature our own medical detox program. Our safe, secure, same-sex detox process is administered by qualified experts who are trained to treat withdrawal symptoms and handle any medical emergencies. We utilize a wide range of symptom relief methods to help patients stay comfortable, energized and focused on their recovery.
COMFORTABLE AND RELAXING LIVING SPACES We strive to provide our residents with safe, pleasant and comfortable living quarters during their stay with us. While not in treatment, our patients reside in spacious and fully furnished apartment-style housing facilities with 24-hour onsite security, a swimming pool, TV in every unit and waterfront views. Our independent living spaces provide patients with a comfortable environment, while giving them the added life-skills benefit of maintaining their own residences. NUTRITIOUS, FRESHLY PREPARED MEALS Balanced diet and smart eating habits are essential to a healthy lifestyle. We use the preparation and selection of food to foster proper nutrition and improve life skills. Our residents have the opportunity to prepare their own meals, so they can control the quality and content of what they eat. Cooking and meal preparation build confidence and independence, while facilitating a smart and healthy dietary regimen. Our mobile food service, Bentley s Wheels, offers a daily variety of high-quality meal choices. Bentley s Wheels provides a full breakfast menu and a different selection from our chef s signature specialties, along with fresh salads and sides for lunch each day. Grilled chicken and grilled cheese sandwiches are always available upon request.
THE FAMILY WEEKEND PROGRAM Family is an integral part of an individual s recovery. We recognize that addiction is a disease that affects the entire family and have developed a three-day program that offers education, support and guidance to our patients loved ones. Family Weekend helps participants to understand addiction as an actual biological disease and to better understand their roles and responsibilities in the recovery of their loved ones. Family Weekend was established to help loved ones empower themselves through education and sharing, while ensuring that patients have a strong and solid network of support upon their return to their families and lives. Residents are strongly encouraged to have the significant people in their lives attend Family Weekend.
LONG-TERM SUPPORT AND ADVOCACY Upon completion of their treatment program, each patient leaves with a comprehensive and realistic aftercare plan so they can continue to apply the tools gained at The Cottages to maintain their recovery and avoid relapse. This plan includes referral to outpatient care, 12-step meetings and sober living facilities, and will vary according to the progress and continued needs of each individual patient. Our alumni are encouraged to join our aftercare social networking community so they can continue to offer and receive support in recovery.
