Solutions Recovery Treatment Center Pre-Interview Contact Name: Sara Nakae Address: Mailing: 9811 W. Charleston Suite 2626, Las Vegas, NV, Physical: 2975 S. Rainbow Suite J, Las Vegas, NV Office Phone: (702) Mobile Phone: (702) Fax: (702) Specializing in: 1) How many years have you been in business? 4 Years 2) Are you licensed in your state? Yes 3) Any accreditations? SAPTA Certified, Licensed By the State as well as the county 4) Do you offer medical detox? If not, how do you deal with that? Is there a local facility that you work with? (If yes, would the detox charge be included in our trade-out agreement or would the show have to cover that?) We do not offer medical detox. We are contracted with a facility that is able to handle inpatient detox as well as out patient detox. 5) How many days of treatment can you offer? (We ask for a scholarship for 90 days of treatment.) We will offer up to 60 days of residential treatment, 2 months of intensive outpatient treatment, and two years or after care treatment. 6) How many beds do you have? We have 18 beds total which is split between two houses 7) What is the estimated value of treatment? Up to $35,000 8) What is included in your offer? (lodging, meals, therapy, etc) Lodging, meals, therapy, holistic services and activities are all included. 9) Do you have a dual diagnosis program? Yes. The staff is fully trained with co-occurring disorders and they are also LSW and LDAC certified.
10) How many therapists are on staff? Are they licensed? How many Masters Level or above? We currently have 10 licensed therapists on staff. Nine out of the ten therapists are Master s level of higher. 11) Any medical doctors or psychiatrists on staff? There is one medical director, one psychiatrist and one nurse practitioner. 12) What is the counselor to patient ratio The counselor to patient ratio is always changing due to the number of patients we have at any given time. The ration would never be high than 8:1 13) How many individual therapy sessions per week? How many group sessions per week? Do you offer both supportive and confrontational groups? The patients receive one ore more individual counseling sessions a week based upon their individual needs. They also participate in eight group sessions a week which include psycho education, interaction and psychotherapeutic counseling 14) What is your treatment philosophy? Cognitive behavioral or do you do more regressive work, taking the client back to family of origin issues? Here at solutions we believe that addiction is a biologically bases illness and explore family of orgin.we address cognitive process education as well as addressing potential stressors and triggers that may lead to relapse. 15) Walk me through your treatment program from admission to discharge. The first step of the treatment process usually begins with the phone call to our facility. During this phone call we gather information on the potential patient and pre screen them to see if they are a good candidate for any of our programs. We then schedule them for an intake assessment. During this process the patients gets an overview of our program, a tour of our house and medical/biopsychosocial assement. From this assessment the clinician develop a formal treatment program. Shortly after admittance the patient is scheduled an appointment with or contracted medical doctor for a detox evaluation and blood/tb testing. The patient then participates in their 30 day treatment program. Upon discharge, the patient is given a final evaluation as well as an exit interview. During this process they are encouraged to enroll in an Intensive Outpatient Program and referred to Sober Living. They also receive 2 years or aftercare at no additional charge. 16) How do you deal with difficult patients? What does it take to get kicked out of treatment? We believe that difficult patients with difficult behaviors are exhibiting the symptoms of addiction. Disruptive behaviors are addressed in both groups and individual therapy sessions. At this point a behavioral contract is drawn up with agreements from both patient and therapist. Activities that can result in behavioral contracts can
include repeated violations of house rules and an unwillingness to deal with problematic behaviors. 17) How do you deal with PTSD? Do you offer EMDR, clinical hypnosis, psychodrama or other methods? We deal with PTSD during individual therapy as well as encourage the patients to share their experience 18) What is your specialty? Do you offer any specialty programs like equine or art therapy? Our specialty is that we use a holistic approach for our form of treatment. We have services such as art therapy, yoga, personal training, spa treatments, acupuncture and massage 19) Do you have expressive arts therapies? If so, which? Occasionally we take our patients to a facility where they are able to express themselves artistically during art or craft projects. 20) What is the actual facility like? Is it partial hospitalization? The Facility where the patients stay is a residential house strategically placed in quiet upper class neighborhoods. The houses are between 4,000-5,000 sq feet and have large backyards for activities as well as swimming pools. We try to make our house as comfortable and home-like as possible. There is no hospitalization unless a certain patient s detox assessment requires it. 21) Do you have a religious track? We are not religious based but we do encourage our patients to become spiritual and on Sundays will make arrangements for them to attend any type of religious service. 22) What is the average age of your clients? We take patients over the age of 18 and a majority of them are between the ages of ) Will there be any out-of-pocket costs that the center will not cover regarding the trade-out? How much? The only out of pocket costs that we may not cover is if the patient has to be referred out to detox center or hospital before being able to safely enter into the house. This cost is yet to be determined based on the severity of the situation. 24) What does the patient need to bring with them? The patients will need to bring with them clothing, toiletries, small amount of spending cash and other essentials for thirty days. They may also want to bring workout clothes as well as a bathing suit.
25) What can the patient NOT bring with them? We strongly discourage our patients bringing laptops, cell phones large amounts of money, and CD s or DVD s that glorify drugs or alcohol. 26) What is your phone policy? Phone passes are given only with the permission of the patients therapist. The phone call must be related to the progress of recovery and to only supportive family members and friends. 27) How will the patient have access to money? Credit card on file? Deposit account? How much money should be deposited? The patient is allowed to have up twenty dollars with them at anytime. All other money is kept in a safe at the office. 28) Are there scheduled family visits? When? Family sessions are held every Saturday. The family participates in groups with the patient as well as with the other families from 10AM-2PM. Family visitation is from 2PM-5PM. 29) What do you recommend for lodging for the family when they visit? There are many hotels that are closely located to the facility and upon request we can make some suggestions. 30) What if the patient arrives in really bad condition/high/drunk? The patient is immediately evaluated for detox and based on the severity of the situation they are either assigned a personal house manager to monitor them until they are stable or they are referred out to one of our contractual detox center or hospital. 31) Is it possible to admit a patient anytime day or night? We typically prefer to admit patients between the hours of 8AM- 8PM although some exceptions can be made. 32) Do you provide transportation to and from the airport? If not, what do you recommend? Yes, we will provide all transportation to and from the houses and the airport. 33) Who is the best spokesperson for your facility? This person needs to speak both about the treatment center we well as the particular addiction the patient has. The best spokesperson for our facility is Dave Marlon. 34) Is it okay if we return and do a follow-up near the end of treatment? (Clinical team would give approval that it would not interfere with recovery and we would again work 100% with you as to filming.) Yes, a follow up after treatment is possible with a patients consent and release.
35) Do you have a full step-down program? Yes. As explained before we refer all of our residential patients to enroll in our Intensive Outpatient Program which meets three times a week for three hours each. This program lasts two months and is then followed up with a free two year aftercare program. During this time we encourage our patients to remain sober and to seek out a sober living environment. 36) How many owners has your facility had? 1 37) Are the meetings on site? Only the group therapy sessions are held on site. All of the other meetings are held out within the community. 38) Does your facility have a work program? No. 39) Transitional/ Sober living? We have a very close referral relationship with a Sober Living program that we refer our patients to. 40) How do you conduct your outpatients? Can you recommend a facility near the addict s home? We have an Intensive Outpatient program that is two months long. This program is offered to our residential patients upon completion of the program. We also offer two years of aftercare following any of our treatment programs. 41) Will the patient have a roommate during the treatment? Yes. We believe it is important that the patients never feel alone throughout the whole process of recovery. In all cases there are 2 patients per room. THINGS TO MAKE THE TREATMENT CENTER AWARE OF: 1) We want you to know that the people who come through our show could be really tough cases. We just want you to be prepared for that so you know how to deal with it. I will provide you with pre-interviews and psych evaluation beforehand. 2) Because the patient is arriving from an intervention, we can t say for sure what time we ll be there until we re on the way to the departing airport. We ll give you our best estimate and update you as it goes. 3) If we arrive in the evening, our producer will film the patient s arrival and a few minutes of the initial greeting and admission process. Then the producer will leave the patient in your hands. The next morning, the producer will return to the
facility and shoot an interview with your spokesperson (make sure they deliver good sound bites!) and some footage of the facility. This shoot usually takes about 2 hours.
