It also allowed to point out strong and weak points as far as how transfusion is running in each institution. Continuous training of nurses is already organized in 57% of the hospitals whereas for doctors, it counts only for 13% of cases. Q88-2011 : Labelling of pre-tf sample 62 Name 3% Whereas the level of requirement should be the same everywhere : Barre-code 34% Name + Forename + BD 16% Name + BD 47% A barcode is used in 34% of the hospitals, 3% of the hospitals require the patients name as only check of identification. 47% demand both name and birthdate Only16% require the 3 items : name, forename and birth date, So, obviously, the minimal requirements for safety are not the same everywhere!
The goal of the WG 63 To elaborate didactic material available to hospitals such as : Texts Diaporamas (PowerPoint files) E-learning QUIZ In order to help hospitals to implement basic and/or continuous training courses in different domains of transfusion.
Basic principles 64 The target-audience : nurses and doctors Transfusion was split into several «modules» The principle : 1 module = 1 topic = [10 to 20] slides/topic Notions addressed : basic notions (neither ex cathedra courses nor scientific lectures) that have been selected by consensus among the NL and FR members of the working group.
