Tier Classification on Data Centers Tier Classification Tier IV Multiple compartmentalized & simultaneously active power and cooling distribution paths, with (System + System) and (n+1) redundant components, concurrently maintainable and fault-tolerant, providing the highest level of availability. Tier I A single power and cooling distribution path, without redundant components, providing the lowest level of availability. Tier II A single power and cooling distribution path, with (n+1) redundant components.
