Installing CoolDing in 4 steps SMART HOMES - SMART BUILDINGS Position CoolDing Step 1 Tighten the supplied antenna to your CoolDing and position CoolDing within the range of the air conditioner*. Connect the adapter to CoolDing and insert the power cord plug into the wall socket. Connect CoolDing to your own network Step 2 Wait until CoolDing has started up: the lights Status and WLAN will start to blink slowly. Follow the steps on the next page to connect CoolDing to your network. Make sure to connect CoolDing to the same network as the one to which your smartphone, tablet or computer is connected. Check that you have successfully connected with your network by logging into the webpage of CoolDing at https://coolding.plugwise.net. Here you can enter the ID of your CoolDing (ID code in bold, consisting of 8 consonants as indicated on the sticker that is placed on your CoolDing). Make sure that your computer, smartphone or tablet is connected to the same network as CoolDing. bcdfghjk SSID: smile_123456 1 1. ID code * Up to 2 meters away at an angle of 30 degrees or up to 8 meters distance in a straight and continuous line from the infra red receiver of the air conditioner. See the technical specifications on www.plugwise.com/products When you install CoolDing, you automatically agree to CoolDing connecting to the Plugwise server, enabling us to provide you with the best possible service. Please note that your data will always remain anonymous. Furthermore, the data is sent over a secured connection (SSL). If desired, you may cut the connection on CoolDing webpage at System settings.
Connect CoolDing with your own network SMART HOMES - SMART BUILDINGS Step 2 Wi-Fi (WPS)* Press the black button located next to the antenna of CoolDing for 1 or 2 seconds, release the button, and wait until WLAN start to blink quickly and frequently. Then press the WPS button* on your router to connect your CoolDing via Wi-Fi. The WPS button can be recognised easily by the text WPS on the button or icon Once CoolDing is connected to the router, CoolDing will automatically restart with the obtained Wi-Fi settings. If no connection has been made after two minutes, CoolDing will return to the sign-up mode**. Wi-Fi Connect your smartphone, tablet or computer to the Wi-Fi network of CoolDing which can be found on the sticker of CoolDing (behind SSID). Your password is the ID code (in bold) of your CoolDing. Use your smartphone, tablet or computer to go to the web browser. If you are not directed automatically to the settings page of CoolDing, please enter a random link (for example www.a.com ) to open the network settings page***. Press scan and wait until this has been completed. Select the wireless network with which you wish to connect CoolDing. Enter the password of your own network and save the network settings. Wait until CoolDing has restarted. 1. ID code 2. Network name bcdfghjk SSID: smile_123456 1 2 LAN Connect the network cable (UTP cable) between CoolDing and your router and wait until LAN starts to blink irregularly. * ** *** CoolDing only supports a WPS connection via a special WPS button on your router or via a WPS button in the webinterface of your router. It is not possible to connect CoolDing WPS via a pin code to your router. If it was not possible to connect to Wi-Fi through WPS, we advise you to connect CoolDing to Wi-Fi without using WPS. If this was not visible, go to http://192.168.40.40 in your web browser on your smartphone or tablet. Here you can enter your user name (smile) and your CoolDing password (ID code printed in bold, consisting of 8 consonants, as indicated on the sticker).
Step 3 Download the app bcdfghjk Download and install the CoolDing app on your smartphone or tablet (also available on https://coolding.plugwise.net). On https://coolding.plugwise.net, you can connect directly to your CoolDing s own webpage (HTML interface), after you have entered the ID code (printed in bold). Here you have the option to use the same features as the ones available in the app. To connect with CoolDing s own webpage, CoolDing as well as your smartphone, tablet or computer must all be connected to the same network. Consequently it is not possible to switch outdoors via the webpage of CoolDing. Connect CoolDing with the app by entering the ID code of CoolDing at Add device in the pop-up that automatically appears after the start-up of the app has completed*. You can also indicate here whether you wish to switch outdoors. To be able to switch outdoors, Plugwise uses a cloud-service. If you want to use this service, we need your permission to save your data. Please note that your data will remain anonymous at all times. Press the arrow button on the top left of the screen, your data is automatically saved. * If the pop-up does not appear automatically in the app, you may open it manually by clicking the middle part of the top menu. Here you may also change the settings later on or add multiple CoolDings in the app.
Record and Play back Step 4 Click on the + sign located at the top right side of the screen to add a command. Give the command a clear name (for example cooling ), select which LED, top (1) or front (2), is pointing towards the air conditioner and select an icon. Now press the red button to record. Point the air conditioning remote controller towards the top (1) of CoolDing and press the button to play the command you wish to teach CoolDing. When the command has been successfully learned, recorded will appear on the screen. You will automatically return to the screen where you can select a command. 2 1 WLAN Status LAN Setting up a schedule Open the schedule by clicking on the menu on the top left of the screen and then selecting a schedule. An empty week calendar will be opened. Double click anywhere on the screen to create a switching moment. A new window appears where you can select the command and a time to switch. Press the arrow button on the top left of the screen to add the switching command to the schedule. You may change this later by clicking the switching moment in the schedule.
