A. Preparations In order to install Purple Sturgeon Standard VPN you need the following details: 1. Your username 2. Your password 3. The server's IP address 4. The server's pre-shared key This information is provided with your order confirmation. In case you lost the information please contact info@purplesturgeon.com. ATTENTION: Please make sure you are connected to the Internet while installing Purple Sturgeon Standard VPN B. Installation Procedure 1. Open the Control Panel from the Start menu

2. Open the Network and Internet Connections 3. Click on Create a connection to the network at your workplace

4. Choose Virtual Private Network connection and click on Next 5. In the field Company Name please enter Purple Sturgeon VPN and click on Next

6. For Host name or IP address please enter the IP address provided to you and click on Next 7. Choose Add a shortcut to this connection to my desktop and click on Finish

8. Now you have a new symbol named Purple Sturgeon VPN on your desktop. Please double-click on the new symbol 9. A new window will appear. Enter the following settings: For User name please enter your username provided to you For Password please enter your password provided to you Choose Save this name and password for the following users and Me only Then click on Properties

10. A new window will appear. Please choose the tab Security and click on IPSec Settings... 11. A new window will appear. Please choose Use a pre-shared key for authentication and enter in the field Key: your pre-shared key provided to you. Then click OK

12. You will return to the previous window. Please choose the tab Networking and select in the field Type of VPN: the value L2TP IPSec VPN. Please make sure the following elements are listed under This connection uses the following items: Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) Qos Packet Scheduler Client for Microsoft Networks In case any of the three elements is missing please add it though the button Install... Then press OK You are done, your Purple Sturgeon VPN has been successfully installed and you can use it.

C. Connecting and disconnecting from the VPN You return to the following window. In case you cannot see below window please make a double-click on the symbol Purple Sturgeon VPN on your desktop. With a click on Connect the VPN will be connected.

With a click on Disconnect the VPN will be disconnected. ATTENTION: You can only establish a VPN when being connected to the Internet.
