Networking with other computers You can use your account on other computers but only after you have logged out and disconnected your current VPN connection, this means you can only use your account on one computer at a time. Bosco Internet Setup Guide - Page 15

Figure 1. To share your internet account with multiple computers at the same time you will need the following Connection Sharing Check List MS Windows with Internet Connection Sharing. A free Local Area Connection Network port. A Cat5 Crossover network cable to connect to 1 other computer OR A Cat5 network patch cables (one for each computer) and a Network Switch to connect to 1 or more other computers. Your "host" computer must have Microsoft Internet Connection Sharing. Internet Connection Sharing or ICS is a standard feature of Microsoft Windows XP Professional and Home Edition. The "host" computer will also be the computer that you created the Zest VPN connection on. You will require a minimum of a crossover cable to share your internet connection with one other PC. NB: This will not work with a network patch cable. Bosco Internet Setup Guide - Page 16

Figure 2. Definition of "Crossover Cable" - brought to you by SearchNetworking.com A crossover cable is a cable that is used to interconnect two computers by "crossing over" (reversing) their respective pin contacts. To share your internet connection with 2 or more PC's you will require a Network Switch and a Cat5 network patch cable for each PC. Figure 3. Bosco Internet at Zest uses wireless access points placed throughout the building. You are connecting Bosco Internet Setup Guide - Page 17

through one now. There are always concerns about security with Wireless Internet so we've installed very robust VPN security to ensure unauthorised people don't use your Internet account. This makes sharing your connection difficult because the ability to share within an apartment may give unauthorised people the ability to also share your connection. We are working on ways to enable Bosco Internet customers to share without placing your security at risk. In the meantime you can share the Internet between two PC/Laptops by using a cross over cable and cat 5 Ethernet cable between the network port in one computer to the network port in the sharing computer. To continue sharing the primary computer must remain connected. Older computers may require a newer wireless network adaptor to achieve high speed connection. These are available for computer stores. We understand a Senao NUB-362 (USB adapter) or a Senao NL-2511CD PLUS (PCMCIA card) provide strong connectivity. However the choice is your's based on your knowledge and understanding.
