Required to work weekends on occasion. ORGANISATIONAL ENVIRONMENT The Organisation Sovereign Hill is internationally recognised as Australia's foremost outdoor museum. The Sovereign Hill Museums Association is a not-for profit community-based organisation that includes: Sovereign Hill outdoor museum, the Gold Museum, Comfort Inn Sovereign Hill, Blood on the Southern Cross and Narmbool. The Department/Area The Finance and Corporate Services Division encompasses Administration, Finance, Information Technology & Communications, Human Resources and Payroll. The work carried out by the Finance and Corporate Services Division is essential to the Museums capacity to function efficiently and effectively. PRIMARY ROLES The Systems Administrator is responsible for the support and maintenance of the information technology and communication systems including but not limited to desktop computing equipment, virtualized and physical server environment, networking (wireless and wired), telephone, mobile phone and two-way communications systems, retail systems, internet and surveillance. Key result area Systems Administrator Major activities Provides escalated on-site support of information technology from the Viatek Helpdesk Available via mobile or email during all hours that Sovereign Hill is open to the public Remediate IT system issues and escalated IT support faults Manage the delivery of IT systems monitoring and reporting Manage LAN infrastructure and ensure configurations and updates are completed in line with Operational policies Ongoing update of asset registers and ITC documentation Ensure that disaster recovery procedures exist and that backup processes are monitored for all IT systems Ensure that all systems are documented and asset registers are maintained Participate in the identification, development and communication of new technology standards and best practices as appropriate Responsible for monitoring backup and disaster recovery systems to ensure error free operation on a regular basis Assist the IT and Communications Manager in the support and deployment of ERP and Point-of-Sales custom development, testing and deployment Provide advanced support to resolve IT issues in cooperation with the Helpdesk support staff Assist the IT and Communications Manager in the programming, installation and maintenance of CCTV systems Problem Solving Analyse situations, evaluate alternatives and implement solutions Recognise why a fault occurred and take steps towards resolving underlying issues to prevent future occurrences Interpret guidelines and analyse factual information to adapt or modify processes in response to changing circumstances Act as a resource to others to solve problems Exercise independent judgement. Key result area Major activities Participate in annual performance reviews, meetings and staff training and professional development as and when required Champion, advocate and enforce all organisational policies, procedures and practices Foster a culture which values safety as primary consideration in all activities Other relevant tasks as required KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS Tertiary degree in Information Technology or 3 or more years related experience or equivalent combination Professional certifications as appropriate Industry recognised certifications and/or demonstrated extensive experience in the following technologies: server virtualisation and hosting (VMware experience highly regarded) supporting LAN/WAN environments with a detailed understanding of the creation and management of VLANS, IP routing, switching and the creation and management of Firewall rules recent versions of Microsoft OS, application & server families Server 2008/2012, Exchange 2013 and SharePoint 2013, Windows 7/8, Office 2013 apple desktop environments in an Active Directory environment and the recent versions on OSX and ios active directory services including a strong knowledge of the interactions between AD, DNS, DHCP and Group Policy Data protection (backup, recovery and replication) products used in virtualised environments (Veeam Backup and Recovery knowledge highly regarded) General ICT Infrastructure such as servers (Dell server management experience highly regarded), storage devices, power protection and other datacentre products Knowledge of current trends in the specific field Demonstrated professional, positive and approachable attitude/demeanor and discretion including handling of confidential information Ability to take direction and instruction and act quickly and calmly Must be self-motivated and show initiative and commitment to continuous improvement Well-developed written and verbal communication skills with the ability to explain and produce technical documentation Demonstrated time management skills with ability to prioritise tasks when under pressure and to work without direct supervision Ability to work under pressure during peak workload periods Willingness to work flexible hours and participate in an after-hours on call roster QUALIFICATIONS A tertiary degree in Information Technology will be highly regarded Page 4 of 5
