OUR LOCATIONS EXPLAINED CAMPUS A Campus is a CQUniversity location with student facilities such as libraries, lecture theatres and other learning spaces, student advice centres and commercial outlets such as food and beverage. Campuses can be accessed by both on-campus and distance education students. STUDY CENTRE A Study Centre is a CQUniversity location that is a smaller version of a campus. While you will find staff and teaching facilities here, study centres usually don t have a full range of services, for example commercial outlets/food and beverage. PARTNER STUDY HUB A Partner Study Hub is a CQUniversity location where students can drop in to utilise Internet and computing facilities and access information about CQUniversity programs, courses and services. Partner Study Hubs are operated in collaboration with CQUniversity partners such as TAFE and other organisations. What is a residential school? When studying by distance education, some individual courses or units within your program or course may require you to attend an on-campus residential school. cqu.edu.au 05 MORE WAYS TO STUDY AND TRAIN APPRENTICESHIPS AND TRAINEESHIPS The steps to becoming an apprentice or trainee are different to becoming a student at university or TAFE. Generally, you will be required to find an employer who is willing to employ you as an apprentice or trainee. During your apprenticeship or traineeship, your employer (or Group Training Organisations/Job Services Australia provider) may arrange for you to undertake vocational education and training at CQUniversity. CROSS-INSTITUTIONAL STUDY If you are enrolled in an undergraduate or coursework postgraduate program at another institution, and wish to undertake CQUniversity courses, you may choose to apply for cross-institutional study. You will require approval from your home institution and this must be submitted as part of your application. SINGLE NON-AWARD STUDY If you want to update or expand your knowledge in a specific area, without committing to an entire program, you may wish to apply to study a single non-award course. You will be required to meet the entry and pre-requisite requirements for admission to the program from which the course or courses belong to. START UNI NOW (SUN) SUN offers Year 11 and 12 students the opportunity to study CQUniversity courses from degree-level programs whilst still in secondary school, as part of their Queensland Certificate of Education (QCE).
