Corporate & Personal Tax Rates The State of Texas does not collect business or personal income taxes. b. Sales and Use Tax Rates The sales tax in Texas is a combination of State of Texas rate (6.25 cents) and local rate (maximum 2.0 cents), for a maximum rate of 8.25 cents. In Fort Worth the rate is 8.25 cents. There are numerous exemptions from sales tax. c. Inventory Tax Rates The State of Texas allows property taxing jurisdictions to exempt in transit inventory from personal property taxes. This is commonly referred to as the Freeport exemption. In transit inventory is inventory that leaves Texas within 175 days. All buildings we are proposing for Project Lincoln allow the Freeport exemption at all three taxing levels (city, county, ISD). This is known as the Triple Freeport exemption. IV. Incentives: a. Tax Abatement The City of Fort Worth prepared to discuss a tax abatement with Project Lincoln representatives. In the City of Fort Worth, a portion of real and personal property taxes can be abated for up to 10 years. Project Lincoln Fort Worth, TX 3

b. Recruiting & Training The State of Texas and City of Fort Worth are strong proponents of the utilization of workforce training programs. We have a lengthy track record of accessing the state run Skills Development Fund through our partners at Workforce Solutions and through our Community College network. A sensible rule of thumb for grant money received through the Skills Development Fund program is $1,000 for each new job. Additionally, Workforce Solutions (our local workforce governing board) will hold job fairs and provide pre screening efforts at their expense in order to accommodate newly located employers in Tarrant County.
