Employees are expected to, at all times: - Maintain a high professional standard and work with integrity - Develop a collaborative working relationship - Communicate with respect and tolerance - Maintain a client focus - Adopt a Continuous Quality Improvement approach This position will lead the provision of flexible and timely Speech Pathology services within the funded and fee for service models within a mixed adult and paediatric caseload. Funded services include community based paediatrics and the Regional Communication Service which specialises in individuals with complex communication needs. Fee for service opportunities include sub contracted, Private Health, Package, Medicare Benefit Schemes and full cost recovery income sources. A willingness to work seamlessly across all Gateway Health Speech Pathology services is required. This position is part of the Allied Health program and reports to the Program Manager. Organisation Context Gateway Health is a not-for-profit Company limited by guarantee and a registered Community Health Service under the Health Services Act 1988 (Vic). The Board of Governance provides strategic planning for Gateway Health. consists of 9 elected members. The Board The Board has delegated the operational management of the Agency to the Chief Executive Officer. Executive staff are accountable to the Chief Executive Officer and provide direction, support and leadership to staff. The Executive comprises; - Chief Executive Officer - General Manager Client Services - General Manager Clinical Services - General Manager Corporate Services Program Managers provide immediate support and management within their program areas. There are nine clinical and client program areas. Corporate services are delivered through five key areas (Finance, Payroll, Information Communications Technology, Human Resources and Quality & Safety). Qualifications & Conditions: Selection Criteria: Essential: Degree in Speech Pathology Desirable: Eligibility for membership with Speech Pathology Australia Medicare Provider number Clinical experience in individual and group models of service within adult and paediatric caseloads. Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of a range of Augmentative and Alternative communication methods. Clinical experience within public and private service delivery models. Knowledge of community development or capacity building approaches. Demonstrated ability to be self directed and motivated. Sound organisational, leadership and communication skills. Ensure that all documentation is accurate and completed in a professional and timely manner. Input statistical data using relevant data bases to meet agreed timelines. Comply with OH& S and other relevant legislation. 4. TECHNICAL SKILLS & APPLICATION. Demonstrated knowledge and application of the skills required for this position. This includes knowledge and understanding of appropriate equipment, legislation, policies and procedures. Ensure professional management of clients in accordance with CBOS, professional code of ethics, relevant guidelines, and Gateway Health Service Policy and Procedures. Deliver Speech Pathology services within funded and fee for service models within an adult and paediatric caseload. In partnership with clients, provide comprehensive Speech Pathology management, including assessment, education, prescription of aids/equipment and follow-up. Promote inclusive local communities for people with complex communication needs using a community capacity building approach as per the Communication Access Network strategic plan. Actively participate as part of a multi-disciplinary team, liaising with and referring to other team members, in order to provide an optimum level of client independence where appropriate Act as a resource for clients, caregivers and health professionals and attend key professional meetings as required Positively provide supervision of students while on placement with the Allied Health Team. Meet annual targets. Contribute to and participate in the promotion of the service as required. Provide positive mentoring, peer support and leadership to all staff. Work seamlessly across all Gateway Health Speech Pathology services as required. Participate in other duties as directed. 5.
