7.00 OTHER INFORMATION 17 1.1 ABOUT THE CERTIFICATE COURSE The Certificate Course on Working Capital and Debt Management is a practical oriented course aimed at candidates who wish to acquire formal training in managing working capital and debt. The goal is to prepare candidates to be ready to take up leadership positions in managing working capital and debt in small, medium and large enterprises. Keeping in view the huge current as well as potential demand for the professionally qualified manpower in financial sector, BAMS has designed this course to cater to the industry ready-made, skilled and knowledgeable professionals who are in position to perform and yield results immediately on their joining. The course and contents are designed after obtaining feedback from working corporate managers and directors of medium to large companies besides FORTUNE 500/BT 500/ET 500 COMPANIES so that the qualified candidates can be immediately absorbed by the industry and no amount of training is required to be spent on them after their joining. Thus the industry will give top priority to the qualified candidates from the Academy. 1.2 PURPOSE AND OBJECTIVES 1. To impart in-depth knowledge of Working Capital and Debt Management to candidates who wish to specialize in this field. 2. To help candidates in understanding various concepts, corporate practices in managing working capital and debt. 3. 1.3 ELIGIBILITY The following candidates are eligible for CERTIFICATE COURSE ON NEGOTIATION SKILLS FOR EXPORT AND IMPORT: i. Graduates in any discipline. Students appearing for final year degree examination can also apply. 1.4 SYLLABUS CERTIFICATE COURSE ON WORKING CAPITAL AND DEBT has the following topics in its syllabus: - Understanding working capital and its importance. - Structure of various current assets and liabilities - Various concepts including Operating Cycle - Components of working capital using quantitative techniques - Computation of working capital - Raising Term Loans- Avenues and perspectives - Tools to optimize working capital and working capital leverage. - Working Capital Finance 1.5 ADMISSION PROCEDURE Admissions are open throughout the year. The candidates are required to download the Enrolment Application Form from the website, fill it up and submit along with two passport size photographs and requisite enrolment fee to the Academy at Mumbai by post or courier. Objective Type, Multiple Choice Questions. There will be a 1 ½ hours examination carrying 100 marks. 1.7 DURATION AND TIME TABLE OF EXAMINATION An examination covering all topics will be for 1 1/2 hrs. SINGAPORE 656 Serious consideration will be given to the candidate s preferred center, however in case, it is not possible for the Academy to hold examination at a particular center due to candidates being less than 25 in number, then the nearest center shall be allotted to the candidate at the discretion of the Academy. The decision of the Academy shall be final in this regard. Venue for the examinations shall be intimated to the candidates while issuing ADMIT CARDS. Any request for change in the examination center should reach the Academy at least 30 days in advance. Any Request received thereafter shall be treated as INVALID. 1.11 REGISTRATION AND EXAMINATION FEE Registration Fee is Rs.14900/- payable along with the Enrolment Application Form duly filled in through NEFT / Bank Transfer as per bank details given in the Enrolment Application Form. Registration fee once paid is valid for TWO years. Examination Fee of Rs.9900/- for the certificate course is to be paid along with Examination Application Form duly filled in, through NEFT/Bank Transfer as per bank details given in the Examination Application Form. Enrolment Application Form OR Examination Application Form once submitted can not be withdrawn or altered. Enrolment Fee/Examination Fee once paid is non-refundable. 5

The duly filled in examination form may be sent by post/courier to the Academy at Mumbai. Examination Application Forms may be submitted after last date with late fee of Rs. 2000/- before two months of the respective examination. 1.13 RE-EXAMINATION Candidates who are unable to obtain the requisite score in the examination have to appear for the re-examination. Maximum numbers of attempts allowed for re-examination are THREE. Re-examination fee is Rs. 7500/-. 1.14 ADMIT CARD Admit card/letter stating therein the details such as Name of the Candidate, Passport size photograph pasted thereon and stamped, Examination applied for, Name and address of center etc. shall be sent to the candidates by post/registered e-mail. In case, a candidate does not receive ADMIT CARD/Letter by post/registered e-mail, he/she may intimate the Academy accordingly for re-sending the same. In absence of ADMIT CARD/LETTER, the candidate shall not be allowed to enter the examination hall. 1.15 DISCIPLINE AND CONDUCT IN THE EXAMINATION HALL 6

The rules are as under: - The candidates are required to maintain strict discipline in the examination hall. - Mobile phones are strictly prohibited in the examination hall. - If any candidate is found impersonating others or allowing others to impersonate him/her, copying, arguing with the Examination Superintendent or showing indiscipline, committing an act of misconduct or trying to establish contact with other examinees/outsiders whatsoever the nature may be or in possession of incriminating written material/equipment shall be penalized as per the rules of Academy. - Question Papers are strictly prohibited to be taken out of the examination hall during or after the examination. If the candidate has to go out of the examination hall due to illness or any reason whatsoever, the question paper will be handed over to the examination superintendent which may be collected by him on return. - Pocket size portable battery operated calculators are allowed in the examination hall subject to the condition that such calculators should not : o o o make noise while in operation have memory for storing/retaining data after switch off have facility for inserting tape/recording/photographing mechanism into it for storing or programming data. In case any candidate is found in possession of a calculator which does not meet the above criteria, the same shall be confiscated and will be returned after examination hours. 1.16 PENALTIES FOR VIOLATION OF RULES The Academy has right to penalize a candidate who is found violating the rules given herein above, in the following manner or in the manner whatsoever the Academy deems fit: i. To cancel his/her result and declare him/her unsuccessful for the course. ii. To declare him/her unsuccessful in that particular subject examination. iii. To cancel his/her result for all examinations, he/she appeared in the past. iv. To ask him/her to leave the Examination Center at the discretion of Examination Superintendent. v. To debar/exclude him/her from appearing in any future examination 7

vi. Any other action, the academy may deem fit at its sole discretion. The decision of the Academy shall be binding on such candidate. In case of any legal dispute in relation to the examination, center of examination, valuation of answer sheets or any matter relating to CERTIFICATE IN WORKING CAPITAL AND DEBT examination whatsoever, the proceedings shall be subject to The Arbitration and Conciliation Act 1996 and seat of arbitration shall be Mumbai only. 1.17 PASSING CRITERIA The candidate shall be declared successful in the examination as under: Category Minimum Marks Pass 50% in aggregate Pass with First Class 60% in aggregate in the first attempt Pass with Distinction 75% in aggregate in the first attempt Candidates not passing this examination in first attempt shall not be awarded FIRST CLASS or DISTINCTION certificates. 1.18 DECLARATION OF RESULT The candidates will be intimated their respective scores within 15 days of the examination. 1.19 VERIFICATION OF MARKS The candidates who wish to get their marks verified shall make written request after declaration of the score and shall pay a fee of Rs. 900/- (Rupees Nine Hundred)only per subject through NEFT / Bank transfer as per bank details given in the Enrolment Application Form. Such request shall reach Director of Examinations, BAMS, 7 Twin Complex-II. Opp. Marol Fire Station, Marol Naka, Andheri (East), Mumbai-400059, within 15 days of date of declaration of the score. Second request for verification of marks is not permissible. 8

What is the eligibility criterion for this course? A. Eligibility criteria for this Certificate course are as under: i. Graduates in any discipline Q. What is the medium of examination? A. Examination is conducted in English. Q. What is the type of examination for this certificate course? A. This will be an objective/multiple choice questions type online/off-line examination. Q. Is there any difference between Certificate course and University degree? A. Yes, Certificate course is different from University degree. University degrees are general in nature and covers vast areas besides it takes more time period to complete the same. This Certificate course is specialized short term course and designed to cater to the industrial need for trained, specialist, skilled and ready-made professionals in the field of finance. Whether the Academy will provide the same or candidates will have to buy the same from bookstores? A. The Institute shall send the course kit, reading materials and handouts to the registered candidates by post/courier within 30 days from receipt of the Enrolment Application Form. Q. How much preparation is required for this examination? A. The preparation required for this certificate course is 3 months. 10

Q. What are the types of questions, duration of examination and maximum marks for this examination? A. The examination will have a question paper of one and half hours containing 120 objective type/multiple choice questions with maximum score of 100 marks. It is designed to cover various difficulty levels, to test the knowledge, stress handling ability, conceptual grasp, arithmetic & problem solving, decision making and analytical ability besides the ability of the candidate to convert learning/theory into practice. The question paper may have a few practical case studies followed by multiple choice answers to be answered by the candidate. Q. Will there be any negative marking? A. No Q. What is the procedure for registration and payment of requisite fee? A. The procedure for registration is as under: i. Submit Enrolment Application Form along with with proof of having remitted Rs. 14900/- through NEFT /Bank Transfer as per bank details given in the Enrolment Application Form and send the same addressed to Director-Distance Education, BAMS, 7, Twin Complex-II, Opp. Marol Fire Station, Andheri (East), Mumbai-400059. On receipt of enrolment duly filled in, the academy will issue Registration number and examination application form. ii. For appearing in re-examinations the candidates are required to submit examination application form before the latest date along with a fee of Rs. 7500/-. The eligible candidates shall be issued ADMIT CARD stating name of venue, address etc to reach the candidates at least two weeks before the examination. What is the criterion for passing this examination? 11

A. The candidate will have to score at least 50% marks in the examination in order to be declared as PASSED. The candidate is required to score in the FIRST ATTEMPT, at least 60% in aggregate in order to be declared as PASSED WITH FIRST CLASS and at least 75% marks in aggregate in order to be declared as PASSED WITH DISTINCTION. Candidates not passing this examination in first attempt shall not be awarded FIRST CLASS or DISTINCTION certificates. Q. What if a candidate does not pass in the first attempt? A. If a candidate does not pass in first attempt, he has to mandatorily appear for the re-examination and has to pay Rs. 7500/- re-examination fee.
