1. What is MyAccess? The MyAccess Services is a tool for Volvo employee users who need secure communication to Volvo Corporate Network. The MyAccess service provides a secure client VPN access to Volvo intranet over an unsecured network like e.g. Internet. This makes it possible to work from home or connect to internal resource while on the road. The service gives an in office like experience with the exception that the performance depends on latency and bandwidth of the Internet connection. The MyAccess service consists of two parts, one VPN-client software (MyAccess), and one central VPN-gateway (SCS-gateway). MyAccess VPN-client is used to encrypt/decrypt the traffic to and from the SCSgateway. Besides to encrypt/decrypt the traffic to and from MyAccess, the SCS-gateway forces the user to authenticate with a Digipass, before the communication can start.
2. Rules of connection MyAccess must only be used for Volvo provided clients, and it s NOT allowed to use MyAccess from a private personal computer. A user-id can only be used by one user at a time. Multiple sessions with the same user-id causes unexpected behaviors and are NOT allowed. Client running MyAccess shall have an up to date antivirus detection software installed and running.. 3. User registration and authorization Non-MyPlace users must have membership in AD/AM-group MyAccess without personal computer. It can for example be ordered in Faros. 3.2. Firewall Configuration The VPN client communicates on different ports to establish a secure VPN tunnel to the SCSgateway. If there is a traffic filtering device (e.g. firewall) or software protecting the VPN client PC the following traffic must be allowed through to Internet:
TCP port 443 (HTTPS) For better performance it is also recommended to allow: UDP port 500 (IKE) UDP port 4500 (NAT-T) The client will automatically try to use the best connection method available. 4. Installation of client software Before you start The installation must be done from a user account with Administrator privileges The VPN-client and the latest version of this document can be downloaded from: http://www.volvo.com/ecs.. 5. Troubleshooting Volvo IT is providing the MyAccess service, but do not support end user support for non- MyPlace clients through Volvo IT Helpdesk, please contact your local IT-support for any assistance. Cannot display the webpage Make sure that you have connectivity to Internet and that the firewall configuration prerequisites are met. Try to reach other https web pages on Internet e.g. banking sites or https://www.paypal.com Close all web browsers and try again. Access denied Invalid username or password Make sure you are registered for AD/AM group MyAccess without personal computer, for example in Faros. Disconnection problems Other installed VPN clients can interfere with the MyAccess VPN client. Uninstall other VPN clients to make sure they do not interfere.
