ELEMENTARY PROGRAMS Online Registration - Opens: Dec. 16, 2013 - Ends: Jan. 20, 2014 LITERACY & NUMERACY PROGRAMS - 8 sessions (Excluding Feb. 15, Mar. 8,15, Apr. 19) Primary Power Program - Literacy & Numeracy (Grades 1 to 3) The Primary Power Program (PPP) is designed as an integrated program of reading, writing, and mathematics. This program also helps students develop social skills through participation in hands-on cooperative activities. The program is intended to provide additional support, rather than enrichment for students who are achieving Level 1 or 2, as reported on the Provincial Report Card. Fun with Math - Literacy & Numeracy (Grades 4 to 6) The Fun with Math Program is for students who require additional support in mathematics. This program is based on the Ministry of Education Curriculum and is intended for students functioning at Levels 1 and 2 of the Provincial Report Card. COMPUTER CLASSES - 8 sessions (Excluding Feb. 15, Mar. 8,15, Apr. 19) TechnoHERO - formerly known as Multimedia Presentation (Grades 3 to 5) Students will learn the tools to create multimedia presentations which will serve them well in school and at home. With the introduction to TechnoHERO, children will review correct keystrokes, ergonomics and improve their ability to interact with the computer and combine words, pictures, sounds, animation, and video into persuasive, powerful and empowering communication vehicles. TechnoFLASH - formerly known as Adobe Flash (Grades 5 to 8) Students will develop animations for their presentations and projects. The basics of TechnoFLASH will be covered such as: timeline, tweening, objects, symbols, layers, sound, etc. Students should have basic computer skills, such as mouse clicks, file navigation, and basic software knowledge.
