VALENCIA COLLEGE Valencia College SchenkelShultz s Contractor CPPI Construction ITS/AV Systems Est. $21.7 M 83,000 SF August 2012 Corporate Training Building and Library at Lake Nona Campus, Orlando, FL The 3-story facility includes 18 smart classrooms, 6 science labs and expanded hallways that create student hubs. These hotspots were designed with students in mind with many electrical outlets and comfortable seating; students can study, stay connected, surf the web, and recharge their batteries. The new library has plenty of open study space for students, which is reflected in the open and shaded outdoor courtyard. The $21.7 million campus opened on August 27, 2012 and incorporates both energy efficiency design through the MEP systems and through the layout of the multi-level atrium that promotes natural daylight into the building. The project is pursuing Green Globes, an alternative program designed to recognize energy efficient buildings similar to USGBC LEED certification. Green Initiatives Pursuing Green Globes

VALENCIA COLLEGE Valencia College CT.Hsu + Associates Contractor CPPI Construction ITS/AV Est. $23.5M 110,000 SF University Center, West Campus, Orlando, FL This three-story classroom building was a partnership between the University of Central Florida and Valencia College to be used as a joint-use facility on the West campus. The University Center received LEED certification Gold Level for its environmentally friendly design, construction and energy-saving features. Green features include rooftop solar panels along with energy saving lights, air conditioning and insulation that make the building 28% more efficient than a conventional building. The new additional space enables UCF to offer complete bachelor s degrees in nursing, electrical engineering, applied science, business administration, interdisciplinary studies and psychology on Valencia s West Campus. Valencia s engineering programs are also housed in the building, including an associate in arts pre-major degree that allows a smooth transfer to UCF and associate in science degrees in electronic engineering and computer engineering. VALENCIA COLLEGE Valencia College Hunton Brady s Contractor Clancy & Theys Construction ITS/AV Systems Est. $35M 150,000 SF Library Science Building, Osceola Campus, Kissimmee, FL Designated as Building 4, the largest building on this campus houses the campus library, cafeteria, bookstore, classrooms, and science labs. A learning support center contains tutoring stations, computers and small-group study rooms. the building will includes a variety of energy-efficient and green features, such as high-efficiency air-conditioning systems, dual-flush toilets and green materials used in the floors, walls and ceilings. In addition to the energy-saving features inside, the landscaping uses native plants, which require less irrigation and houses a cistern to capture rainwater and re-use it. The outdoor space includes three outdoor courtyards, which feature benches, power outlets, wireless Internet and six-foot-tall glass slabs that serve as whiteboards for students and instructors. VALENCIA COLLEGE Valencia College Hunton Brady Contractor Clancy & Theys Construction Plumbing, ITS/AV Systems Est. $2.6M Summer 2012 Central Energy Plant at Osceola Campus, Kissimmee, FL OCI Associates, Inc. provided mechanical, electrical, plumbing and ITS design engineering services for a new replacement 1,500-Ton Central Energy Plant at the Osceola Campus for Valencia College. The new and more efficient plant was needed to better serve the College and support the addition of the 4th campus building: a 150,000 SF Library Science Complex. The project was designed and constructed before the new building would be completed to allow for a better change-over between systems. OCI managed this project as a Prime consultant and provided conceptual BIM renderings to showcase the project to help the facilities staff see the progress and design.

EDISON STATE COLLEGE Edison State College HKS s Construction Gates Construction ITS/AV Est. $12M 44,000 SF 2011 Green Initiatives Pursuing LEED Silver Energy Modeling Full Energy Model Allen & Marla Weiss Health Sciences Hall, Collier Campus, Naples, FL OCI Associates, Inc. provided mechanical, electrical, plumbing and fire protection engineering design services for a 44,000 SF Health Sciences Hall for Edison State College the Collier campus in Naples, Florida. The building will maximize energy efficient building design, including use of orientation, day lighting, energy efficient windows, LED and fluorescent lighting, solar thermal water heating, high energy efficiency climate control, and solar PV panels. The combination of energy efficiency and energy production will bring the building to net metering capability and will reduce potential green house gas emissions. The presence of this building will foster awareness among students on campus regarding the principles of reduced energy consumption and renewable energy generation.

FLORIDA GULF COAST UNIVERSITY Florida Gulf Coast University SchenkelShultz s Construction Owen-Ames-Kimball ITS/AV Systems $19M Lutgert College of Business, Fort Myers Campus, FL Lutgert Hall is a four-story building that sits prominently at the university s front entrance, complete with conference rooms, case study rooms, an executive training room, thirteen classrooms, a tiered computer classroom and a student lounge. Described as FGCU s signature building, the $19M U-shaped building wraps around a central brick-finished protected courtyard area, which opens to the main campus. The design concept was centered around the influences of the global business community, with the objective to create a 21st century learning environment that is flexible and adaptable to accommodate the changes in business philosophy. 62,693 SF 2009

FLORIDA GULF COAST UNIVERSITY Florida Gulf Coast University RS&H Construction Owen-Ames-Kimball ITS/AV Systems 30,000 SF Summer 2010 Bower School of Music, Fort Myers Campus, FL The Bower School of Music includes a 3,260 SF, 200-seat Choral Rehearsal/Recital Hall that doubles as a small recital hall, along with a director s office, reception and staff office, nine faculty studios, a music education classroom and two other smaller classrooms. In addi tion, there is a 10-12 station class piano lab, a separate music technology lab and 10 practice rooms for students. The instrumental rehearsal hall and the choral hall/recital hall will have recording capa bilities. All of these spaces were built with acoustics as a prime consideration. FLORIDA GULF COAST UNIVERSITY Florida Gulf Coast University Harvard Jolly s Construction Manhattan/Kraft ITS/AV Systems $25.5M 65,000 SF Fall 2011 Green Initiatives LEED Gold Energy Modeling: Full Energy Model College of Health Professions-Marieb Hall, Fort Myers Campus, FL Marieb Hall is dedicated to providing the College of Health Professions with state-of-the-art practice laboratory facilities, classroom and conference spaces, and offices that will nurture the interdisciplinary mission of the College and sustain its programs and enrollment for the next decade. The 40,000 SF building houses a large lecture room that will accommodate approximately (120) students; multiple labs for Athletic Training and Human Performance, Nursing Simulation, Nursing Practice Labs, Occupational and Physical Therapy Labs as well as administration areas and conference rooms. The $25M facilty was completed in the Fall of 2011.

FLORIDA GULF COAST UNIVERSITY Florida Gulf Coast University Leo S Daley s Renovation Plumbing, ITS Est. $250K Link Coffee Bar Interior Renovation, Boca Raton Campus, FL OCI Associates, Inc. was responsible for the mechanical, electrical, plumbing and IT design engineering for the Link Coffee Bar interior renovation at Florida Gulf Coast University. The existing connecting Atrium between the College s Lutgert and Holmes Halls was redesigned to accommodate 600 SF of space as a coffee bar for students and teachers to utilize between classes. Our scope included modifications/ additions to the plumbing, electrical and data systems to accommodate the needs of the project that was completed in 2010 and had an estimated construction budget of $250,000. 225,000 SF 2010

FLORIDA GULF COAST UNIVERSITY : Florida Gulf Coast University : Harvard Jolly s Contractor: Ajax Building Corporation : : Plumbing, Fire Protection : $10.8M Parking Garage B, Fort Myers Campus, FL OCI Associates provided mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and a standpipe fire protection system for a new Parking Garage at Florida Gulf Coast University. Parking Garage B is specifically designed to serve students and faculty on the Fort Myers campus in the South Village area, specifically the SoVi Dining Hall and the Housing Complex student dormitories. With nearly 311,699 SF of parking space over 6 levels, the building will safely hold 1,200 vehicles on campus. The $10.8 million project was designed under the team of Harvard Jolly s and construction on the project was completed with Ajax Building Corporation. This garage has two elevators and two stairways and includes LED lighting throughout for safety purposes. Parking Garage B opened to students in June 2011. : 311,699 SF : June 2011

FLORIDA GULF COAST UNIVERSITY : Florida Gulf Coast University : Harvard Jolly s Contractor: Ajax Building Corporation : Parking Garage II, Fort Myers Campus, FL OCI Associates provided mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and a standpipe fire protection system for a new Parking Garage at Florida Gulf Coast University. Parking Garage II is specifically designed to serve students and faculty on the Fort Myers campus near FGCU Boulevard South including the Arts Complex, Music Hall, South Modular Village, Music Modular and EHS Modular. With nearly 300,000 SF of parking space over 5 tiers, and facility will safely hold 989 vehicles on campus. The $9.5 million project was designed under the team of Harvard Jolly s and construction on the project was completed with Ajax Building Corporation. Parking Garage II opened to students in February 2008. : Plumbing, Fire Protection : $9.5M : 300,000 SF : February 2008

FLORIDA GULF COAST UNIVERSITY : Florida Gulf Coast University : Harvard Jolly s Contractor: Ajax Design-Build : : Plumbing, Fire Protection : $6.67M Parking Garage III, Fort Myers Campus, FL OCI Associates provided mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and a standpipe fire protection system for a new Parking Garage at Florida Gulf Coast University. Parking Garage III is specifically designed to serve students and faculty on the Fort Myers campus near FGCU Boulevard North including Griffin Hall, Howard Hall, McTarnaghan Hall and the Wellness Center. With nearly 236,200 SF of parking space over 3 levels, the building will safely hold 785 vehicles on campus. The $6.67 million project was designed under the team of Harvard Jolly s and construction on the project was completed with Ajax Building Corporation. The structure is made of pre-cast concrete totaling over 4oo individual pieces, trucked and set in nearly eight weeks. Parking Garage III opened to students in October 2009 (3 months ahead of schedule). : 236,200 SF : October 2009

FLORIDA POLYTECHNIC UNIVERSITY Florida Polytechnic University SchenkelShultz s Contractor Skanska Plumbing Est. $3M Central Energy Plant and Infrastructure, Lakeland, FL OCI Associates, Inc. is currently providing mechanical, electrical and plumbing energy services for a 1250-Ton Central Energy Plant to support the new Campus for the Florida Polytechnic University in Lakeland, Florida. The plant will provide chilled water to a new 160,000 SF Classroom Building being designed by the world famous architect, Santiago Calatrava and is expandable for future planned growth for the University. Currently the Polytechnic is sharing a campus with Polk State College and when complete, the new campus will offer the space and resources the university needs to expand from its current 4,229 student body to 16,000 students. 5,000 SF 2014

STETSON UNIVERSITY Stetson University SchenkelShultz s Contractor CPPI Construction Addition ITS/AV Sage Hall Science Center Addition, Deland Campus, FL OCI Associates, Inc. was responsible for the mechanical, electrical, plumbing and ITS/AV design engineering for a large 19,900 SF addition to the Stetson University s Deland campus. Originally built in the mid 1960 s, the University s number of science students has increased significantly and the building was unable to support the increasingly sophisticated equipment and instrumentation being used. The two-story addition features ten hi-tech teaching and research classrooms, one conventional classroom and eight offices for use by the Biology and Chemistry departments. The $7,737,120 project has doubled the size of the existing Sage Hall Science Center and is now outfitted with state-of-the-art instrumentation. Est. $7.7M 2009

STETSON UNIVERSITY Stetson University SchenkelShultz Contractor CPPI ITS/AV Systems $507K 1850 SF Rinker Environmental Learning Center, Deland Campus, FL OCI Associates, Inc. provided mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, ITS/AV systems for a new 1,850 SF Learning Center for Stetson University that is certified LEED Gold from the USGBC. The Marshall and Vera Lea Rinker Environmental Learning Center is an extension of the Gillespie Museum, located in the Sage Hall Science Center addition. Used by Stetson students and environmental conservation groups, the $507K building also plays host for field trips from local high schools. Completed in 2009, the center was designed to educate the community on sustainable design and the importance of protecting natural resources and includes classrooms and exhibit space. 2009 Green Initiatives LEED Gold Energy Modeling: Full Energy Model

STETSON UNIVERSITY Stetson University SchenkelShultz Contractor CPPI ITS/AV Systems $1.4M 8,000 SF 2009 Mary B. McMahan Music Hall, Deland Campus, FL OCI Associates, Inc. provided mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, ITS/AV systems for a new 8,000 SF Music Hall for Stetson University that is certified LEED Silver from the USGBC. The Mary B. McMahan Hall helped expand the university s School of Music by providing more teaching and rehearsal spaces. The $1.4M building was completed in 2009, the new building includes a 200-seat rehearsal hall, faculty studios for one-on-one lessons, small instructional studios, a percussion studio, a band library and storage space for musical instruments and sheet music. STETSON UNIVERSITY Stetson University SchenkelShultz Contractor CPPI ITS/AV Systems $1.6M 5,500 SF 2009 Homer and Dolly Hand Art Center, Deland Campus, FL OCI Associates, Inc. provided mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, ITS/AV systems for a new 5,500 SF art center for Stetson University that is certified LEED Silver from the USGBC. The Homer and Dolly Hand Art Center is a permanent gallery for the Oscar Bluemner s art collection and is also utilized as museum space. The $1.6M center features a gallery of rotating artwork and the University s permanent art collection, a seminar room that can be utilized as a reception area, vault, preparation areas and storage spaces. Completed in 2009, the facility allows Stetson University to preserve, protect and promote collections for students, scholars and art aficionados in the historic quad area of the Deland campus. FLORIDA ATLANTIC UNIVERSITY Florida Atlantic University Harvard Jolly s Renovation and Upgrade Plumbing Interior Renovations and Upgrades to Buildings 4 and 6 at Boca Raton Campus, FL OCI Associates, Inc. was responsible for the mechanical, electrical, plumbing and fire protection design engineering for the interior renovations for Buildings 4 and 36 at Florida Atlantic University s Boca Raton Campus. Our scope of work involved the renovation of the existing MEP systems of Building 4 to support the newly redesigned floor plans to facilitate a new Transportation Lab, new AutoCAD Lab and new Senior Design Lab. The areas were designed to maximize flexibility of spaces using mobile furniture and adaptive infrastructure to support all specialty equipment. Within Building 36, an upgrade of the existing MEP systems for the remodeling and renovation of various spaces which included the main lobby, the new engineering chemical laboratory with other supporting spaces. Our project also included remodeling of the Student Study Suites, Soils Research Laboratory, Distance Learning Laboratory, Engineering Biology Laboratory, Graduate Research Laboratory, Covered Outdoor Research Courtyard and other supporting spaces. The project was completed in 2011 and had an estimated construction budget of $1M. $1M 2011

FLORIDA ATLANTIC UNIVERSITY Florida Atlantic University Contractor Kaufman Lynn Upgrade : Plumbing 2012 Marine Mammal Research Facility Life Support System at Harbor Branch Oceanic Institute, Ft. Pierce, FL OCI Associates, Inc. was charged with the design of the primary and emergency electrical systems to feed the critical life support systems for the Marine Mammal Research Pool at the Harbor Branch Oceanic Institute campus of Florida Atlantic University. The design used an existing infrastructure that changed from a round swimming pool to a state-off-the-art marine mammal tank so that marine mammals can be nursed back to health and released back into their natural environment. This design included a new 400 amp 120/208 volt service, 150 KVA LP generator, transfer switches and electrical panels. The design also included a complete grounding system including lightning protection, a pool bonding system, pump and skid mounted equipment bonding and a ground ring. The facility life support system project had a critical time restraint for turn around as the pool was needed to house several pilot whales that beach near the facility. The facility has been used since for several whale beaching and for several dolphin injured on the treasure coast.

PALM BEACH STATE COLLEGE Palm Beach State College Song + Associates, Inc. Contractor Suffolk Construction ITS/AV Systems $8.3M 38,500 SF BAS Classroom Building, Lake Worth Campus, FL The new 8.3 building was designed to accommodate the first Bachelor of Applied Science (BAS) Program, marking its historic transition to a four year State educational institution. The state-of-the-art facility design was to provide the College with a signature building that will function as the new front door to the campus from Lake Worth Road. Outdoor balconies encourage user interaction and promote more natural day lighting into the building. Palm Beach State College will be aiming for LEED Gold certification on the multipurpose classroom facility which will serve the entire campus. Boruff s & Planners Contractor Balfour Beatty and ITS/AV Est. $5.8M 17,500 SF Public Safety Training Complex, Phase 1 Firing Range, Lake Worth, Campus, FL The 17,500 SF Law Enforcement Firing Range Building is the centerpiece of the building with a 5-story Fire Academy Training Tower and a Criminal Justice Driving Course. With 24 twenty-five meter firing lanes accommodating lead and non-lead ammunition, the facility educates future law enforcement officers in the use of both hand guns and rifles, and provides a secure firing range for local law enforcement agencies. The $5.8 million project included a large classroom, offices, range control room and secured weapon and ammunition storage allow for full functionality and accommodations for the full range of curriculum offered. PALM BEACH STATE COLLEGE Palm Beach State College Stephen L. Boruff s & Planners Contractor Balfour Beatty and ITS/AV Public Safety Training Complex, Phase 2 Fire Training Tower, Lake Worth, Campus, FL The 11,898 SF SF Training Center sits on 17.9 acres and integrates Fire Science, Criminal Justice, EMT and Paramedic Academies. The $3.2 million project involved a 5-story Fire Academy Training Tower, a 3-story Burn Building, Observation Platform, a Criminal Justice includes a 300 x600 Driving Course, a Prop Field including LP Gas Props, a Vehicle Extrication simulation area and several emergency response scenario drill areas. One distinctive feature is the tower s high-rise alarm system, which tells the status of the heat and smoke detectors and water sprinklers on each floor. It mimics those found in high-rise buildings, but with one difference: the tower s system is programmable, allowing instructors to preset conditions for different fire scenarios. Trainees won t know what to expect and will need to evaluate alarm status on the spot. Alarm sounds and strobe lights add to the realism of the training. All training employs redundant safety measures and mannequins. Other features include a fully operational elevator covering three of the five floors, allowing for simulations involving passenger rescue; an isolated fourth floor will be used for rescues of trapped victims from confined spaces; a floor cutout on the fifth story allows for exercises involving floor breaks that often endanger firefighters as well as victims; and the tower s roof has davits for hoisting tools and equipment, or hanging scaffolding to simulate a scaffolding rescue Est. $3.2M 11,898 SF February 2010

UNIVERSITY OF CENTRAL FLORIDA University of Central Florida SchenkelShultz s Contractor Clancy ITS/AV Systems $20M 100,000 SF 2010 Partnership III, Central Florida Research Park, Orlando, FL The five-story office and research lab facility is shared by the Institute for Simulation & Training, other UCF departments and components of the defense community. The $20M Partnership III building is almost a mirror image of Partnership II which saved time and several millions in architectural design costs, allowing the project to concentrate on adding energy efficiency improvements to qualify for an environmentally friendly certified LEED Silver. This is the third in a series of UCF buildings dedicated to the Central Florida Research Park that is a partnership project between the Department of Defense and UCF. The research park is a hub of modeling, simulation and training research and acquisition. The Naval Air Warfare Center Training Systems Division (NAVAIR TSD) and U.S. Air Force Agency for Modeling and Simulation are within walking distance. The driving motivation for the partnership series is to help sustain Orlando as a hub for simulation research and industry development and help maintain a significant DoD presence, which, in turn, contributes to the local economy. INDIAN RIVER STATE COLLEGE Indian River State College Florida s Construction HJ High Construction ITS/AV Systems $28M 101,000 SF Treasure Coast Public Safety Training Complex, Fort Pierce Campus, FL Located on 50-acres, the complex houses a sophisticated Emergency Operation Center which is the most comprehensive, technologically advanced public safety training facility in the nation. A Defensive Tactics Training lab that uses a 300 degree use-of-force training simulator incorporating virtual reality technology to create realistic and potentially hostile scenarios. There is also a Tactile Training lab that provides a unique, moveable wall system that allows for multiple structural configurations for SWAT teams search and rescue, hostage negotiation and maneuvers, simulation training, active countermeasures and distraction device techniques. A replicated fire station featuring classrooms, a seven-story Fire Training Tower, a Class-A five-story burn building and gas-fed Burn Field, allowing fire science students and professionals to learn the latest techniques in fire suppression and victim extrication. A Forensic lab to conduct forensics, toxicology, and crime analyses for the 19th Judicial Circuit of Florida, and a 12-lane indoor firearms range features moving targets and simulated environmental conditions are also a part of the public safety training complex. 2009

The $14.5M Center positioned IRSC for recognition as the Number One college in technology in the United States three years in a row by the Center for Digital Education and American Association of Community Colleges. The Kight Center is centered around a 2,700 SF imaging dome that encompasses two stories that can be separated into three 900 SF interactive classrooms. The four-story complex houses two virtual studios with green screen technology. Students in the Digital Media Institute develop expertise in the latest industry standard software in the state-of-the-art MAC lab. Network security and web development are the focus in the Cyber Security Institute, and the Advanced Manufacturing Suite and Photonics Laboratory create a unique environment for study of robotics and light and laser technologies.

Pierce, Florida. This two-story building represents a joint partnership between Florida State University and Indian River State College. The FSU College of Medicine portion of the complex engages medical students in clinical education with community hospitals and physicians offices, while connecting a long distance learning medical training classes throughout the state. The IRSC portion houses programs for surgical technology, medical assisting, biotechnology and bioinformatics laboratories. 2008

The 2-story facility includes over 90 databases and more than 48,000 books and includes a community room, a children s and young adult area s and a library lab. The Richardson Center is a multi-purpose, multi-user facility and the first of it s kind in Indian River County as a high-tech business, training and conference center. The entire budget was funded through matching state funds and an aggressive fund raising campaign supported by local businesses, associates and the community. The multi-purpose conference room includes multi-tasking screens that can project teleconferences, in-house events, websites, and other sources simultaneously. The conference room opens directly to a large covered veranda, which is also connected to the culinary arts training kitchen, providing handson training for students. The scope of this project included the complete remodeling of the older and existing Science Building, as most of the programs had been relocated to a new building. Other features to the Science Building are enhanced display and student gathering areas, re-roofing, re-finishing of the elevator and access modifications for ADA compliance. The new Porter Campus is located at PHSC s Wiregrass Ranch location in Wesley Chapel, Florida and will combine the latest high-tech trends in higher education with a traditional focus on teaching and learning. The campus is located adjacent to Wiregrass Ranch High School and will provide convenient access to higher education to area residents. The new campus will offer business and healthcare programs to train workers for jobs in lucrative medical and technology fields while strengthening PHSC s collaboration with local business and industry. General education classes will prepare students for a variety of career and university transfer opportunities. With 2 levels of parking garage space underneath 5 stories of classrooms, labs, offices, student services, green roofs and other related spaces, the design maximized utilization of the site with room for future growth. PHSC is seeking Green Globes Certification for this 100,000 GSF facility, which focuses on nursing programs along with basic services for the new Porter Campus. As the site was donated as part of a larger DRI, it comes with significant environmental impacts, including design review by the developer in addition to the typical DOE/SREF review and approval requirements.
