Eligibility Applicants must meet both the requirements for institutional eligibility and academic eligibility described in (A) and (B) below. (A) Requirements for Institutional Eligibility [Common to Master s Program and Doctoral Program] Applicants must meet one of the following requirements: (1) Applicants must be a scholar of the Japanese government (Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, or Science and Technology). (2)Applicants must be a student delegated by a foreign government or similar body. (3)Applicants must be recognized by the Graduate School Steering Committee as a person who meets ether of the requirements of (1) or (2) above. 1
(B) Requirements for Academic Eligibility [April Enrollment] [Master's Program-April Enrollment] Applicants must be non-japanese citizens and also fall into one of the following categories (1) - (3). (1)Those who have completed, or are expected to complete by March 31, 2016, 16 years of school education outside Japan. (2)Those who have completed, or are expected to complete by March 31, 2016, 16 years of school education by taking correspondence courses offered by a school in a foreign country or countries while residing in Japan. (3)Those who are 22 years old or older as of March 31, 2016, whom the Graduate School has recognized, through screening of entrance qualifications, as having academic abilities that are equivalent to those who have graduated from a university. (Note)Those on whom a Bachelor s degree from a Japanese university has been conferred or is expected to be conferred by March,, 2016,, are not qualified to apply for the Special Selection for International Scholarship Students.. Instead, they should be apply for the general selection examination. [Doctoral Program-April Enrollment] Those who have completed 16 years of school education outside Japan and meet any of the requirements from (1) to (3). (1)Those who have obtained, or are expected to obtain a Master s degree by March 31, 2016. (2)Those who have been conferred, or are expected to be conferred, a degree corresponding to a Master s degree outside Japan by March 31, 2016. (3)Those who are 24 years old or older as of March 31, 2016, whom the Graduate School has recognized, through screening of entrance qualifications, as having academic abilities equivalent to having obtained a Master s degree. 2
