Satchwell Sigma 1 Satchwell Sigma Software Overview Satchwell Sigma is a high performance building management system which can be scaled from a single controller in a plant room to a complex wide-area system spanning the largest multi-site buildings. It is adaptable and can be easily customised to enable individual user access to the different parts of the system and to provide, via the intuitive Graphical User Interface (GUI), easy to use display formats. Sigma utilises open distributed intelligence and peer to peer (IP) communications, and is highly configurable with a comprehensive range of options. It allows users to interrogate and collate information from plant and provides extensive facilities for annunciation of plant alarms and logging of plant information. Sigma comprises one or more clients connected to a server. The Standard Edition includes Web ActiveX client software (Sigma s native graphics on the Web) and supports Web HTML clients (Sigma HTML pages on the Web); Sigma also supports a portable Compact client (based on a subset of the Standard Edition), which runs on a Windows CE Handheld or Pocket/Palmtop PC. The software is multi-tasking, to provide concurrent processing of different programs, while the communications architecture permits multiple clients to be used on the same system. Clients may be configured as multi-purpose for complete system operation or they may be dedicated to particular functions, facilities and locations. This allows on-line multi-user applications to be speedily carried out whilst providing total system flexibility. The standard software is supplied complete with graphics, dynamic and historical logging, comprehensive alarm handling and extensive Built-in Help. Alarms can be used to trigger plant operations or other applications such as multi-media. This allows, for example, a pre-recorded message to be played to the operator in the event of an alarm. As an option, alarms can be sent to mobile devices such as pagers and phones, via Schneider Electric s Remote Alarm Manager. By using an Integration Controller (IC), it is possible to interface Sigma to a wide variety of third party equipment. Interfaces are also available to packages such as maintenance packages and reporting applications. LICENCE Part Numbers Standard Edition - server and single client with unlimited object capability. For a single PC or separate PCs. Additional client for Standard Edition. Light Edition* - single client, limited to 400 objects including software objects. S-400 Personal Edition* - single client, limited to 150 objects including software objects. S-150 Upgrade to Standard Edition - upgrades the Light and Personal Editions to the Standard Edition. Compact Edition - a subset of the Standard Edition, to run on netbook/laptop, panel mounted and handheld devices. ODBC option - allows third party systems to extract, from Sigma, object alarms, object logs and user transactions, using the industry standard ODBC interface. Runs only on the server. Advanced Security Model option - additional features for use in regulated environments (FDA 21CFR Part 11) and critical and high resilience applications Flexima option - allows logged data and alarm data to be formatted to a text format for compatibility with other software packages. Advanced Toolkit option - enables advanced users to analyse, enhance and fine-tune Sigma control applications and allows the easy production of site documentation. Runs only on the server. *Note: Sigma Options are not supported on Sigma Light and Personal Editions. S-FULL S-CLI S-UPG S-WINCE S-ODBC S-ASM S-FLEXIMA S-TOOLKIT
