Call PC9000 Technical Support to have your Registration Key reissued. Any optional features being utilized (IE Photo ID or Client Licenses) will require a Site File to be ed to you. 3.0 Operation Guide The PC9000 Operation Guide (43000.pdf) includes an Installation Quick Start Guide on your PC9000 software CD. Please follow the directions for installation prior to operating your system. To open this file on the CD you will need Adobe Acrobat Reader version 4 or higher. Insert the CD into your CD-ROM Drive. If your PC recognizes the autorun.inf file, the installation will automatically begin. Cancel the installation by closing the Installation setup window. Then, click Start, Run and then type D:\43000.pdf (assuming your CD is D). 4.0 Obtaining Software and Registration Code Note: The PC9000 Software Installation CD will allow you to Install PC9000 and run in Demo mode for 72 hours. Version now requires a hardware key (Dongle) to be installed at the server connected to a LPT1 or USB port. The Dongle will store the registration number that controls system features license file. A minimum registration of a PC license will be required to register the product for continuous operation. When starting PC9000 after a new installation, you will see that the temporary demo registration code (DEMO EVAL DEMO EVAL) will be present in the registration fields the first time you start the PC9000 application. If not, type the temporary demo registration code in to the registration fields to start PC9000 in Demo mode until you can obtain the permanent registration code. You can access this screen from inside the application by right clicking the Start button of the PC9000 desktop then selecting the Registration button. The Registration Screen will also display the Serial Number from your Dongle. To license the software for continuous communication with the control pane hardware or to upgrade to use optional features, an Authorized Radionics Dealer will need to obtain a Software Registration code for the specific PC9000 jobsite. Once the software is installed, copy the Serial Number from the registration screen as a reference for ordering licenses. The Radionics dealer will need this number along with a specific Site Name (associated with a password that they will be given by Radionics when the order was placed). Call PC9000 Technical Support to redeem the license. Once the registration code is generated by Radionics, the dealer will access the registration screen from the PC9000 software and replace the DEMO EVAL DEMO EVAL with the 16-digit registration code. If there are any optional features being utilized (i.e. Photo ID or Client Licenses), a Site File will need to be ed to you. This file would then be placed in the PC9000\Data folder and PC9000 would need to be restarted. This will complete the registration process. Once the registration code is properly entered, the registration license can be transferred from one PC to another by moving the Dongle. 5.0 Operation Overview The PC9000 Software is a product engineered and produced for Access Control and Security administration. The system is scaleable for both large and small sites. The user-interface is a 32-bit application that was natively written for Windows 2000 Professional and Windows XP Professional. Personnel database information including user data, monitor point text and Skeds (scheduled events) can be updated/added/changed from the software to 9000 Series controller. The controllers are connected using the D9133 Serial Interface for direct RS232 and the PC9133TTL-E for Ethernet. Each controller stores all relevant data and makes intelligent decisions based on field events. With distributed intelligent network architecture, access control and security decisions are made and recorded, even if communication is lost with the main computer. This release of PC9000 focuses on full database administration of the Radionics D7212, D7412, D7412G, D9112, D9412, or D9412G panels with 6.0 firmware or higher E Page Radionics
3 5.1 Release Features Access Control Module This module allows the administrator to monitor, define and maintain access to the entire security system. It is made up of several smaller programs: Personnel Manager This module allows the user to manage a database of up to 996 authorized users per control panel, changing authorization, adding/deleting users and it also has a utility for creating ID badges with importing of digital pictures. Skeds Manager This module allows the administrator to define the particulars of a Sked (scheduled event) such as the start time and date to the end time and date (up to 40 per control panel). Area Control This module is used to control the state of an Area. Areas from multiple controllers can be accessed and changed. Alarm Manager Module This module appears whenever an alarm occurs, displaying specifics such as the date and time the alarm occurred, the alarm s physical address in the system and a description of the alarm. Event Manager Module This module is used to display real-time Events (e.g. door access) for devices connected to the system. Graphic Map Module This module allows the dynamic graphical display of real-time alarms on a location plan with up to 10 separate layers for plotting of monitoring devices and assets. There is also the ability to zoom up to 10 times. Maps in the most popular file formats (BMP, WMF and JPG) can be imported. Hardware Manager Module Manages and controls configuration of all hardware devices connected to the PC9000 station. Photo ID and Badge Designer (optional) This module creates badge templates and captures live images for Photo ID badge printing. (PC9010-PID) Settings Module This module allows the configuration of helper agents, configuration of authorized system users, adding/deleting profiles, setting administrator commands, configuration of which events to include in a log, and shortcuts to the PC s Windows Control Panel and Printers folder. Utilities Module This module allows reports to be printed in various formats, provides a method to customize how reports are organized and printed, imports data from system control panel(s), and includes a utility to repair and backup the database. Multi-PC Operation Allows the addition of up to 3 concurrent Client Workstations for remote database administration and connection of additional Controllers to the system through the Intranet network by using a Client Workstation as a gateway. (PC9010-CL for each additional workstation) 5.2 System Capabilities Total number of Radionics 9000 Series Drivers that can run per PC 1 Driver Total number of D7212, D7412, D7412G D9112, D9412, or D9412G panels that can connect to Radionics 9000 Series Drivers Total number of Drivers per system Including Server The total number of D7212, D7412, D7412G D9112, D9412, or D9412G control panels per system 32 Control Panels (*Default) *Recommended for Access Control systems. 4 5.4 New Features and Fixes in Version Windows XP Support PC9000 Desktop Screen will now best fit completely on 1024x768 resolution A single LPT and USB Dongle Support with Concurrent Licensing for client workstations Copy command in Personnel Manager Revised Reports for enhanced sorting Increased Operator Profile Flexibility Restricting operators (by profiles) from using the Control features (View only) Alarm and Transaction filtering per panel group CCTV Interface to trigger certain cameras to be displayed from alarm events, via a RS232 Serial interface. Supported Switchers are Kalatel, RCM, Sensormatic, Pelco, Vicon, Baxall and RCM Allows limited control over pan/tilt cameras 6.0 Known Issues with Version Communication Issues and Considerations Fully loaded 9000 Series panels may have slower responses to control functions (such as lock door and unlock door) and screen status Dial up is not supported No Parity Notification when connecting to the panel. If changes in the database have occurred while PC9000 has been off line you must do one of two things to insure database parity: Import the data from the panel controller to PC9000 Database if there have been modifications to the D9000 series panel via the CMD Center, D5200 Programmer or RAM IV Download the PC9000 database to the panel if modifications have been made to PC9000 while a communication failure has occurred Network IP Communications using the PC9133TTL-E will require Intranet firewall protection Early to Close, Early to Open transactions are sent to the panel printer but PC9000 only displays them as Closings and Openings Downloading Personnel does not provide a progress bar to indicate that all download data has been sent to the panel. Wait minutes after downloading large databases to insure all personnel and holidays have been downloaded to the panels Downloading All from Hardware Manager, will not download point text from the PC9000 database into the D9000 series panels. Download All sends Personnel Names, User Codes, Access Codes and Authority Levels only Importing Data does not give the option to Save, Cancel and Compare User data Importing and Downloading are global commands and will function for all panels from any Operator Profile if the Import or Download Module Features are enabled Copy Personnel does not copy Custom Field data 6.2 Database Issues and Considerations When adding a new panel to the same panel group, you must first download existing information into new panel so that the user data is identical in both panels. At this point, code add/changes can be made. When adding a new personnel record, all user data must be completed and saved to send data to the panel(s). Exiting Personnel Manager without completing and saving the record will result in a null record with User ID 0 in Personnel Manager. Once the record is saved, the record will be assigned a user ID and then sent to the panel(s) in that Panel Group. The Copy Personnel function saves a new record in another Panel Group in the Database but does not send the record to the new Panel Group panel(s) until an Authority Level is assigned and saved. Skeds dates can only be set to the current year that the PC Windows clock is set to E Page Radionics
5 Different Panel Group assignments will be necessary if access to Areas and Authority Levels vary from Controller to Controller in a single system. (Example: If the system in my building requires more than 1 Controller and I have authority to Areas 1 and 2 in the first Controller but only authority in Area 2 of the second Controller, I will need to have 2 Panel Groups and 2 Personnel records. Only one Panel Group for each of my Personnel records.) Multiple Controller Panel Groups requires that all controllers in a Panel Group are the same type of controller. Example: All D9412 or all D7412 Controllers. Filtering Personnel Records by Panel Group requires that you use Panel Group number in Hardware MGR instead of the Panel Group name. No Add, Delete or Modification of a User Group. This is an advanced programming option that allows the indexing of the Personnel database to turn User codes on and off in Skeds. User Group schedules will need to be set up by a Radionics Dealer Technician using RAM IV or D5200 Programmers. Card Type in Personnel only allows you to tag a Personnel record for filter sorting the database. Importing Personnel data from a D7212, D7412, D9112 or D9412 Controller only updates Names, Passcodes, Access Codes and Authority Levels. You will need to exit the Personnel Manager then re-enter Personnel Manager to refresh the information displayed. The Repair and Compact Database Utility doesn t work on Hardware.mdb and Access_Control.mdb due to security password restrictions. Database repairs will need to be done by your service vendor. When adding or editing Skeds it is recommended that you save the record after every add/change to insure the Sked is sent to the panel. 6.3 Hardware Issues and Considerations Relay 128 is not fully supported in PC9000 application. Relay 128 functions in the D7212, D7412, D9112 or D9412 panels and is displayed but cannot be controlled form PC9000. Keep Controller names short and descriptive. Event Manager only allows a 45 character Address Description field to provide details regarding device description and location. A Maximum of 6 Drivers can run simultaneously per system. Relay Area Assignments do not show up in Relay Properties or Graphic Map Areas after Import. When editing Monitor Points, Relays and Readers you must SAVE the record immediately after each edit to insure sending the update to the Controller. 6.4 Event Logging, Graphic Maps and Alarms Event Manager does not tag Operator ID to all events. The Event Manager primarily logs all events from the D9000 series panels. Most Operator actions can be printed from the Report Manager and Audit Trail. Multi-Media for events are not supported in Multi-PC configurations. Display Only setting in Log Manager does not time and date stamp on all events. It is recommended that all events Write to the Event Log Write to the Alarm Log as well as Display in Event Manager. Manually locking Access Doors will display Door Locked twice. Event text for Skeds executed in Event Manager does not display for Skeds 1, 11, 12, 13, 14, and 15. You cannot sort data by column in Event Manager in this release. Duress Alarm does not display in the Alarm Information Box in Alarm Manager. SDI Bus Fail Event doesn t indicate which device failed. This information will need to be obtained from the Panel Log using a Command Center or uploaded to RAM IV. Alarm Manager will not refresh new Alarm Messages and Multimedia files when a new Alarm occurs. RTE and REX events display as Door Requests in Event Manager. Relay status display only updates with a manual set/reset from PC Radionics Page E
6 6.5 Photo ID Module and Camera Manager Issues and Considerations Restarting the Personnel Manager Application is required to display a new Badge Template in the list box Cannot save or capture the image from the camera in the Camera Manager Screen Hardware Drivers report only show driver addresses in the Device Query. Driver names are revealed in the report once the Preview Report is pressed 47319E Page Radionics
