Validity 1 Validity This update is valid for the following products: STEP 7 Basic V11 SP2 STEP 7 Professional V11 SP2 WinCC Basic V11 SP2 WinCC Comfort V11 SP2 WinCC Advanced V11 SP2 WinCC Professional V11 SP2 Note If you modify your system with the product DVD after installing the update, you will have to perform the update again., 2012, 5

Improvements in STEP 7 2 2.1 Improvements in Update 5 Update 5 contains the following improvements and changes: Sending of emails with the instruction TM_MAIL V1.1 The instruction "TM_MAIL: Transfer e-mail" has been updated. From now on, please use only TM_MAIL V1.1. "Upload from device" via TeleService remote connection Contents of a PLC can now be loaded to an empty project via a TS adapter. Configuration of AS-i Several problems relating to the configuration of AS-i have been corrected: deleting an S7-1200 CPU, analog/digital addresses of slaves, control, migration, copy & paste. 2.2 Improvements in Update 4 Update 4 contains the following improvements and changes: Handling of string arrays in S7-1200 We strongly recommend that you only use an even string length in arrays for CPUs of the S7-1200 series. Otherwise, values may be overwritten when you use the instruction "Move: Move value". Sending of emails with the instruction TM_MAIL V1.0 If an authentication (USERNAME and PASSWORD not equal to empty string) is used in the instruction "TM_MAIL: Transfer email", the CC recipients do not receive an email. However, no error is output to the output tag. In this case, use the TO address (TO_S parameter) instead of the CC address. Backing up the software and hardware configuration of a device You can back up the hardware configuration and software of a device in the TIA Portal. This means that you can load and try out a new configuration on a device without risk. If necessary, you can restore the old configuration of the device., 2012, 7

Improvements in STEP 7 2.2 Improvements in Update 4 This function is only valid for the following device types: S7-300; S7-400 with Flash memory card; ET200S and ET200Pro. Modules with fail-safe programs do not have this functionality. Online backups cannot be uploaded to S7-400 devices without a memory card or with a RAM memory card. Note Once you have created an online backup in a project or copied a device with online backup to the project, the project can only be opened with STEP 7 Professional as of V11 SP2 Update 4. The same applies to libraries to which you have copied an online backup or a device with online backup. Online backups can only be reloaded to the same device. You can create as many online backups as you wish and thus store a variety of configurations for a device. Requirement The device must already be created in the project. The device must be online. If there is no online connection yet, an online connection is established during the backup. Procedure To create an online backup of the current software and hardware configuration of a device, follow these steps: 1. Select the device in the project tree. 2. Select the "Download backup from online device" command in the "Online" menu. If you have not previously established an online connection, the "Extended download to device" dialog opens, and you must first select the interfaces via which you want to establish the online connection to the device. Result The backup of the entire hardware configuration and the software is stored in the folder "Name of the device > Online backups" in the project tree. The name of an individual online backup is composed of the creation date and time and the extension "online backup". You can rename online backups. Restoring the software and hardware configuration of a device If you have backed up the software and the hardware configuration of a device at an earlier point in time, you can transfer the backup back to the device. The saved configuration is then restored on the device and completely replaces the existing configuration. Requirement You must have previously configured the device and stored a backup of the device in the project. 8, 2012,

Improvements in STEP 7 2.3 Improvements in Update 3 Procedure To restore an older software and hardware state on a device, follow these steps: 1. Open up the folder of the device in the project tree to display the lower-level objects. 2. Open the folder "Online backups" and select the required backup. 3. In the "Online" menu, select the "Upload device to PG/PC" command. If you have established an online connection previously, the "Load preview" dialog opens. This dialog displays alarms and proposes actions necessary for loading. If you have not previously established an online connection, the "Extended download to device" dialog opens, and you must first select the interfaces via which you want to establish the online connection to the device. 4. Check the alarms in the "Load preview" dialog and select the actions in the "Action" column, if necessary. Note Performing the proposed actions while the plant is in operation can cause serious injury or material damage in the event of malfunctions or program errors. 5. As soon as loading becomes possible, the "Load" button is enabled. 6. Click the "Load" button. The online backup is transferred to the memory card of the device and the device is restored. The "Load results" dialog then opens. In this dialog, you can check whether the loading operation was successful and take any further action that may be necessary. 7. Click the "Finish" button. 2.3 Improvements in Update 3 Update 3 contains the following improvements and changes: S7-1200 V3.0 support The firmware V3.0 is compatible with devices in the S7-1200 series. Project size when using SCL The use of SCL blocks no longer results in a large increase in the project size. Opening projects and establishing online connections Opening projects and establishing online connections is now significantly faster. Comment length in block interfaces and data blocks Comments of unlimited length are now possible., 2012, 9

Improvements in WinCC 3 3.1 General notes Parallel use If the name or license key of the software are appended by the term "Combo" after installation, you have permission to use the following products/versions in accordance with section 1.6 of the General Terms and Conditions (see also the Setup text): With license for "WinCC V11 Comfort Combo": WinCC flexible 2008 Standard With license for "WinCC V11 Advanced Combo": WinCC flexible 2008 Advanced Transferring new images New images are available with this update. To activate the operating system of the target device, follow these steps: 1. Install the update on the Engineering System. 2. Open the project in the Engineering System. 3. Select the "Update operating system" command from the menu under "Online > HMI device maintenance" on the configuration PC in WinCC. The "SIMATIC ProSave [OS-Update]" dialog opens. The path to the image is preset. 4. If required, you can select a different path for the image that you want to transfer to the HMI device. 5. Click "Update OS". 6. Compile the device. 7. Load the project to the device. Operating system alarm for SIMATIC USB drivers An operating system message relating to the installation of the SIMATIC USB drivers for the download by means of USB 2.0 is generated during installation on the Windows Server 2003 R2 StdE SP2 operating system. Acknowledge the opening message with "Yes" so that the drivers are installed; the message may appear in the background and may not be visible immediately. Setup resumes operations with the next component after about 15 minutes. The SIMATIC USB drivers are then not installed. A download by means of the USB interface will not be possible with Comfort Panels in this case. To install the driver at a later time, start the setup and select the "Repair" mode. An operating system message is once again output during installation of the USB drivers that has to be acknowledged with "Yes"., 2012, 11

Improvements in WinCC 3.2 Improvements in Update 5 3.2 Improvements in Update 5 Update 5 contains the following improvements and changes: Improvements in the Engineering System Corrections in the Engineering System lead to improved stability. Improvements to screen objects of the project library The conversion of a WinCC or STEP 7 project of version 10.5 with screens or screen objects in the project library resulted in a crash of the TIA Portal. Improvement to KTP600 Basic The behavior of KTP 600 Basic during runtime has been improved and stabilized. Improvement to TP 177A The behavior of device TP 177A after unpermitted changes to the communication parameters has been improved. Improvement to OP 73 The behavior of OP 73 after removal and connection of the communication cable has been improved. Updating the operating system to KP400 Basic color or KTP400 Basic color NOTICE Upgrading to WinCC V12 Image To upgrade from a WinCC V11 Image to a WinCC V12 Image, it is necessary to install the update. 1. The path to the image "P400pnColor_V11_0_2_0.img" or "KP400pnColor_V11_0_2_0.img" has been preset. 2. Select the new image "KP400pnColor_V11_0_2_5.img" or "KP400pnColor_V11_0_2_5.img" for the update. 3. Click "Update OS". 12, 2012,

Improvements in WinCC 3.4 Improvements in Update 3 S7 diagnostics alarms in migrated projects If S7 diagnostics alarms are active in a migrated WinCC project, Update 5 correctly transfers the S7 diagnostics alarms to the device. 3.3 Improvements in Update 4 Update 4 contains the following improvements and changes: Improvements in the engineering system The migration of projects from WinCC V7 and from WinCC flexible has been improved. Corrections in the Scripting Editor environment result in increased stability. The representation of controller messages that were created with S7-GRAPH has been improved. The compiling and loading routines were improved. Improvements for Basic Panels After update of the operating system you now have the option to change the setting "Deactivate LLDP" in the Control Panel under "Profinet Settings->Mode" on the KTP400 Basic mono PN, KTP 600 Basic PN Mono, KTP1000 Basic PN, TP1500 Basic PN panels. The incorrect representation of tags on a KTP 1000 Basic PN is prevented. Improvements for Mobile Panels The representation of the on-screen keyboard on the Mobile Panel 177 was optimized. Improvements for Sm@rtAccess When you enter a hidden password on the Sm@rtServer, there is a guarantee that no operations are taking place on the Sm@rtClient. You need to update the operating system to activate this correction. Improvements for Pack&Go Pack&Go now recognizes missing requirements on the target system better. 3.4 Improvements in Update 3 Update 3 contains the following improvements and changes:, 2012, 13

Improvements in WinCC 3.4 Improvements in Update 3 Migrating projects You can now migrate projects that were created in WinCC flexible 2008 SP3. The migration functionality was also enhanced. Migrating an integrated project with ProTool objects If you migrate a WinCC flexible project integrated in STEP 7 and the error message "PROTOOL option package(s) missing in STEP 7" is output, you have installed WinCC flexible 2008 SP3. In addition, the project still contains objects that were configured with ProTool. Proceed as follows to migrate the project: 1. Open the project in the SIMATIC Manager. 2. Execute the "Save as" command in the "File" menu. 3. Activate the option "With reorganization" in the "Save project as" dialog. 4. Click OK. 5. Restart the migration. Exported project texts After the installation of Update 3, existing export files with project texts cannot be re-imported. If you exported project texts with a version lower than Update 3 and gave these to a translation agency, for example, the translations need to be imported before the installation of Update 3. Alternatively, the project texts can be exported again with Update 3. The translations must then be manually copied from the old export file into the new export file. The translated project texts can then be imported again. Compiling and loading The routines for compilation and loading of devices were improved. Additional improvements were made in the Pack&Go environment. Installed software The Runtime products are now included in the display of installed software. Screen resolution in Runtime Advanced The screen resolutions 800x480, 1280x800, 1980x1080 are now supported. System diagnostics display on Comfort Panels The system diagnostics display on the 4'' to 12' Comfort Panels was improved. You need to update the operating system to activate these improvements. 14, 2012,

Improvements in WinCC 3.4 Improvements in Update 3 Updating the operating system on Comfort Panels The routine for updating the operating system on the 4'' to 12' Comfort Panels was improved. System functions on Panels The behavior of the "InvertBitInTag", "SetBitInTag", and "ResetBitInTag" system functions was improved.
