5 "" at a glance 1 Aim "" opens in a separate window and stands out from COMOS due to its ease of use. "" gives you quick access to COMOS data. COMOS queries are used as templates for Snapshots. "" provides you with a map of COMOS queries that have been already created. To get a quick overview of your previously created Snapshots, start a separate EXE file. You do not need access to COMOS. Functions You can create Snapshots in the following ways: Manually The longer the COMOS query, the longer it takes to create the Snapshot. The execution time of a manual Snapshot generation can block the entire application in the same process. In this case there is an option that starts a separate process for the manual generation of Snapshots. Automatic When you create a Snapshot automatically, you determine the time at which the Snapshot is to be created. You can grant read rights for each Snapshot created. You can define a lifetime for each Snapshot to prevent building up a large amount of Snapshot data. If you configure the SQL Server instance for the Agent jobs, the Snapshots are automatically deleted when the jobs are completed. Navigate from a selected Snapshot to the original query in COMOS. Select a row object from a Snapshot and navigate to COMOS. Select several row objects from a Snapshot and edit these objects in COMOS. You can sort Snapshots using the table column. You can sort and filter row objects of Snapshots using the table column. Restrictions Hierarchical queries are not supported. You can create Snapshots of all COMOS queries. When a COMOS query contains objects other than COMOS objects, it is not possible to navigate to COMOS and edit such queries in COMOS. Operating Manual, 10/2015, A5E AA 5
6 "" at a glance The following applies to creating Snapshots: One Snapshot can be created per project query. One Snapshot can be created per query of a working layer. The Snapshot does not support different start objects or different read rights. 6 Operating Manual, 10/2015, A5E AA
