RehabCare is the health and social care division of the Rehab Group. Our aim is to enhance the lives of all of our clients through the provision of high quality, flexible, person centred services. We presently provide and are developing a number of services, including Resource Centres, Residential Services, Respite Care, Supported Accommodation and Home Based Services for people with disabilities. Staff will be required to participate as part of a team of experienced people who will share our philosophy and goals to provide supportive and caring services for service users and their families. A comprehensive training programme will be provided to all staff. Applications are invited for the following position: Post: Residential Service Manager - Full Time Permanent Contract Location: Newport Services (Resource Centre for Adults with Autism and Behaviour that Challenges) And The Glen Residential (Adult Residential Service) Applications to this position are sought from individuals who have previous experience of a specialized service of this nature, and an interest in taking a leading role in developing and influencing services. Ideally the candidate will have a relevant third level qualification in Health & Social Care, a proven track record of effective service development and delivery and three or more years supervisory experience. Experience of working with persons with Autism and Intellectual disability is essential, as well as a working knowledge of Person Centred Planning and Behavioural Support Planning within an adult s residential service. The post holders may be required to work some unsocial hours and participate in on call rota. Rehab Group is an Equal Opportunities Employer Job Title: Reporting To: Residential Services Manager Regional Manager Purpose of the Position The Manager shall be responsible for the management and continued development of a range of quality, customer-focused and cost effective residential services and associated day services that will respond to the needs of the service users in a dignified manner and reflect the overall policies of RehabCare. Key Tasks/Responsibilities To plan, develop and manage appropriate educational, recreational, and occupational programmes within the service in consultation with clients, families, Regional Diagnostic team and as directed by RehabCare senior management, ensuring best practice in line with up to date research regarding Autism Spectrum Disorder. To plan co ordinate and develop day service programmes for service users Line management responsibility for a residential service specific to adults with Autism Spectrum Disorder, including participation within the service rota. Ensuring that the service is staffed as required at all times and operates efficiently and effectively. The recruitment, training and line management of Team Leaders and Care Staff. To assess all clients and ensure that the centre is staffed appropriately depending on the mix of clients. The promotion of teamwork and best practices within the staff group. To create and maintain a nurturing and supportive environment for service users in which their needs are at the forefront of service provision. To actively research the field of Autism Spectrum Disorder and other relevant areas. To plan and develop in conjunction with the Regional and General Manager and other RehabCare team members any other appropriate services within the area of autism, for example outreach services. To facilitate the inclusion of the service users into the community.

To ensure that the highest standards of safety, hygiene and good housekeeping within the services in accordance with Health, Safety and Hygiene regulations and legislation. To be responsible for the ordering of all necessary provisions for the services To carry out risk assessments and manage risk in line with Health and Safety legislation. To ensure that all plant and equipment are properly maintained and in good working order. To ensure that all policies and procedures of RehabCare are adhered to and that all administrative processes are completed as necessary. To ensure the delivery of a high quality service, for example, by implementing regular quality assurance audits. To ensure proper budgetary controls. To facilitate Person Centered Planning meetings with clients, families, and a multidisciplinary team and liaise with families and team as needed. To be proactive in the development of new and innovative activities and programmes for and in consultation with the service users and there families. To ensure that the services are Centres of Excellence for people with Autism and Intellectual Disabilities. To co-ordinate transport for service users as appropriate. To promote the services within the local community and nationwide and to maintain appropriate networks. To report all matters pertaining to the services to the Regional Manager as necessary. To assist and promote the development of RehabCare in the Region. To undertake the development and expansion of the services in the region, in conjunction with the Regional Manager. To participate in on call rota as required. To adapt a flexible approach to service provision in the region, in accordance with the changing needs of client groups. Responsibility for Quality Management in the service including preparing for HIQA registration and inspection. This job profile is the subject of regular review. Professional & Educational Qualifications A third level graduate, Health & Social Care Knowledge & Work Experience Experience in the strategic planning, development and delivery of a wide range of client focused health and social care services Well developed people management skills with proven experience of leading, and motivating a team Experience of working with persons with an intellectual disability and/or persons with a dual diagnosis, with management experience in a day resource centre/supported accommodation service setting being an advantage Experience of managing and maintaining a focus on Health, Safety, Hygiene and good housekeeping guidelines in a service setting and ensuring best practice Experience in the development of relationships with stakeholders in the provision of health & social care services Experience of budget management and control Responsibility for Quality including HIQA and be capable of meeting HIQA person in charge requirements.
