LOVE LEADING PROJECTS? BUILD YOUR IDEAS FROM THE GROUND UP...LIKE MICHAEL who studied the Bachelor of Construction Management and Economics After completing high school, Michael was unsure what career path he wanted to take. His family already owned a successful concreting company, which he worked at full time before enrolling in the Diploma of Building and Construction part time. He chose Holmesglen because of the flexible learning hours that it offered and the great reputation it has in the construction industry. Michael soon realised that this was the career path he wanted to take and used the diploma as a pathway in to the Bachelor of Construction Management and Economics at Holmesglen. He has enjoyed the problem based learning approach that the course provides, It gives a simulated environment, so that we can see what the work force would be like. Holmesglen has also helped Michael develop relationships with professionals in the industry because many of his lecturers and tutors work in construction management. These connections have provided me with the structure to further plan and develop my career. After completing his degree, Michael is looking forward to starting his a career with a new perception of the building and construction industry.

LOVE WHAT YOU DO? MAKE OTHERS LOVE IT TOO...LIKE GIFFY who studied the Bachelor of Business (Marketing Management) Giffy always knew she wanted to work in the marketing industry because of her love for socialising and organising events. After completing high school, she enrolled at Holmesglen because of its excellent reputation. I chose Holmesglen because it was very well known and I wanted to see what it was like. After completing my first year, I knew I had to stay, the teachers were great, I had made lots of friends and I loved the recreation activities. Giffy enjoyed the fact that her program offered her the opportunity to undertake a variety of work placements so she could gain experience in the industry. She also liked the flexible timetable that was offered to her throughout her studies. After graduating Giffy hopes to find employment as marketing manager or event organiser so she can put all the skills she has learnt at Holmesglen to work.

You are prepared for practice through a combination of on campus theory and the latest simulation activities delivered in our state of the art simulation apartments and clinical wards. With a focus on interprofessional learning you will develop valuable skills to operate as part of a healthcare team. Your supported clinical practice will take place in a variety of healthcare settings throughout Victoria. You are exposed to clinical practice early within the program, and the range of clinical placements include; aged care, acute and subacute, community, mental health, paediatric and high dependency nursing. Our industry partnerships ensure the program is responsive to changing industry needs. Fellowship programs are available with our partners, enabling students to develop an ongoing relationship with a health provider. Prior to undertaking clinical placement you must be prepared to declare your health and immunisation status, complete a National Police Records Check annually and hold a valid Working with Children Check. The fee is charged at the time of enrolment and students have the option of paying up-front or, depending on eligibility, deferring payment through a SA-HELP loan.
