Trainer Commitment AWFA trainers are committed to delivering quality training and are supported by a proactive internal network. In order to gain maximum benefit from the sessions, we endeavor to match our facilitators to your staff s culture. We also understand that a learning environment provides an excellent forum to observe your staff s strengths and weaknesses. As such, our trainers can provide management with performance feedback at completion of the course. Our trainers are available outside scheduled workshop times for staff assistance and we set a service level expectation for queries to be responded to within 24hrs. As assessments form an integral part of the program, our trainers provide a 7 day turnaround on project/assignment marking. In line with our continuous development policy, AWFA appreciates the value of feedback from participants in our courses. Currently, participant surveys are conducted every three months aimed at gauging quality of content, presenter s knowledge, delivery, standard of equipment. Course Outlines Apply First Aid including CPR Apply First Aid is the minimum requirement for Workplace First Aid compliance. Attend our straightforward seven (7) hour course and receive your first aid certificate the same day. Australia Wide First Aid is a Registered Training Organisation so you can be assured that your training is nationally recognised. There's no need to complete pre-course homework or online time, everything you need is covered in the one day course. The Apply First Aid unit of competency describes the skills and knowledge required to provide First Aid response, life support, management of casualty(s), the incident and other first aiders until medical or other assistance arrives. Award and Renewal Your Statement of Attainment will certify that you have been trained in Apply First Aid HLTFA311A, which encompasses the contents of Perform CPR HLTCPR211A and Provide Basic Emergency Life Support HLTFA211A. The Apply First Aid certificate is valid for three (3) years, provided that the Perform CPR component is updated annually. This is in line with the Australian Resuscitation Council guidelines. Attend our CPR only courses to maintain your annual CPR certification. We can remind you when your renewal is due and our courses run seven (7) days a week, so there's no reason for your qualifications to lapse. Emergency Management of Asthma & First Aid Management of Anaphylaxis This course covers the knowledge and skills to recognise the clinical manifestations of asthma and identify and respond to an asthma emergency. This course provides the skills and knowledge necessary to recognise, treat and manage a severe life threatening allergic reaction (anaphylaxis) and the use of an adrenaline auto injector. Learn the facts about the symptoms and triggers of an asthma attack. Learn about the different classes of Asthma medication and the devices used to administer them. You will also receive materials to guide you in delivering asthma first aid and gain an understanding of workplace specific circumstances. Award and Renewal Your Statement of Attainment will certify that you have been trained in Emergency Management of Asthma in the workplace 2204VIC and First Aid Management of Anaphylaxis 22099VIC. The Asthma and Anaphylaxis certificate is valid for three (3) years. This course is recognised by the Australian Children's Education and Care Quality Authority (ACECQA) as fulfilling the requirements for Asthma and Anaphylaxis training. Attend our asthma and Anaphylaxis courses to maintain certification. We can remind you when your renewal is due, so there's no reason for your qualifications to lapse. 6 P a g e

No Homework There's no need to complete pre-course homework either online or written workbooks. Everything you need is covered in the one day course. Every participant receives access to our online manual as a reference material for personal study and reference. This manual doesn't form part of the course work, so there's no need to print it and bring it to the course. Accreditation and Professional Recognition Does your employer or Professional Body require you to maintain First Aid certification? Then this is the right course for you. Our course is the minimum First Aid qualification as listed in the Workplace Health and Safety Regulations and often a prerequisite for Profession registration. We run courses seven (7) days a week, so there'll always be a course on when you need it. There's no need to delay work or miss out on a new opportunity for lack of a first aid certificate. Royal College of Nursing, Australia (RCNA) 7 CNE points Our course is also recognised Professional Development in many industries. This workshop has been endorsed by Royal College of Nursing, Australia, according to approved criteria. Attendance attracts 7 RCNA Continuing Nurse Education (CNE) points as part of RCNA's Life Long Learning Program (3LP)". Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (RACGP) 40 Category 1 points This activity has been approved by the RACGP QI&CPD Program. Attendees can claim a total of 40 Category 1 Points (Activity: 763620) Exercise and Sports Science Australia (ESSA) 6 CPD points The ESSA Continuing Education Committee certifies that this continuing education offering meets the criteria for 3 Continuing Professional Development (CPD) Points Building and Construction Industry Training Fund (BCITF) Rebates up to 70% The BCITF provide funding support for those in the Building and Construction Industry in Western Australia to upgrade or maintain their skills. No Pre-Requisites The Apply First Aid (formerly known as Senior First Aid) course is competency based training and does not require any previous training or qualifications. Anyone can enroll in our course regardless of your level of experience. Assessment Australia Wide First Aid believes in providing all attendees with hands on training experience. This course is competency based, and it is important that each student demonstrate his or her understanding of basic first aid. Our assessment is progressive through the course and involves a mix of multiple choice questionnaires, role-play and physical demonstration. 7 P a g e

Training contents The Apply First Aid course (also known as Senior First Aid or Level 2 Workplace First Aid) complies with the Australian Resuscitation Council (ARC) Guidelines relating to the provision of first aid. Working knowledge of: What are the basic ethics and theory involved in first aid practice What are the measures that need to be taken to effectively deal with issues concerning major or minor injury and illnesses What are the most important management steps that needs to be undertaken when dealing with potentially critical health conditions What is the basic health and safety knowledge required when dealing with the conditions of first aid situations What are the principles, procedures and standard precautions that need to be undertaken to control infection and its spread Master the knowledge of the Chain of survival Regulations and Definitions relating to Allergies and Anaphylaxis What skills should a First Aider possess and what limitations should they be aware of Risk Minimisation, signs and symptoms How and when an Automated External Defibrillator (AED) should be used First Aid management of: Injuries: cold and crush injuries; eye and ear injuries; head, neck and spinal injuries; minor skin injuries; needle stick injuries; soft tissue injuries including sprains, strains and dislocations Burns: Due to thermal, chemical, friction or electrical contact Environmental Impact: Hypothermia, hyperthermia, dehydration, or heat stroke Envenomation: Of snake, spider, insect and marine bites Medical conditions: Such as, cardiac conditions, epilepsy, diabetes, asthma, Anaphylaxis and other respiratory conditions.
