Vacuum Contactor Module The vacuum contactor module was designed with operator and maintenance personnel in mind. It incorporates distinctive features for ease of installation, operational safety and maintenance simplicity in the Advance TM medium voltage motor control center (MVMCC). For improved safety, the interlocking system prevents opening the isolation switch while the contactor is closed, opening the cell door when the switch is closed, and operating the isolation switch with the door open. The contactor can only be energized with the door closed. The isolation switch is manually operated and interlocked, and the front window allows air gaps in the switch to be visibility verified. The contactor/isolation switch system includes all necessary interlocks to assure proper sequencing and safe operation. Also, an auxiliary switch is available to indicate open or closed position. The contactor enclosure includes stationary support and primary contacts for engagement with the contactor. Padlock provisioning is provided for securing the contactor in place. Easy access to the contactor module improves maintenance and operation. Ratings Contactors are rated at 400 A & 720 A Two-high design with 400 A contactors without de-rating the upper cell 3
Vacuum Contactor Truck Assembly Vacuum contactor and power fuses are mounted on a removable truck to allow for simplified maintenance and safe handling Parts requiring service are mounted on the truck for inspection, away from energized equipment for ease of use A lifting device latches to the contactor module for simple and safe extraction of the contactor, and can be adjusted to fit the compartment height Position of the switch and air gap between contacts can be visually verified from the front viewing window reassuring the user that the cell is de-energized Maintenance work, such as exchange of fuses, can be conducted with the contactor locked in place inside the cubicle with the isolation switch in the open position Blown fuse indicators on the power fuses are visible through the front viewing window with the door closed and equipment energized Front view, Back view of contactor module Mechanical tripping device for latching contactor 4
Low Voltage Instrument Module Dedicated low voltage compartment for protection and control devices Low voltage compartment completely isolated from the high voltage components Devices and control switches mounted on low voltage door for readability and access Various configurations allow for 19, 38, & 57 tall modules, providing flexibility and ample space Low voltage instrument modules are isolated for maximum safety when working with LV circuits Main Bus Main bus ratings are available in 1200 A, 2000 A & 3000 A Flame-retardant insulation provides resistants to tracking Silver or tin plated for aggressive environments Removable/reusable boots for protection and ease of inspection Bus is front accessible via low voltage compartment Main Bus Access AdvanceTM medium voltage motor control center (MVMCC) is 100% front accessible allowing back-to-back or back-to-wall placement, saving floor space 5
