How to set up Outlook Anywhere on your home system The Outlook Anywhere feature for Microsoft Exchange Server 2007 allows Microsoft Office Outlook 2007 and Outlook 2003 users to connect to their Outlook mail over the Internet when they are working off campus. How to configure Outlook anywhere using Office 2003 Open up Outlook 2003. Either the E-mail Accounts wizard comes up automatically or if you previously set up an account in Outlook you will need to click the Tools menu item and select E-mail Accounts from the list.
In the E-mail Accounts wizard window select "View or change existing e-mail accounts" and then click Next. If you do not have an account set up, you will need to select Add a new email account instead. Highlight your Exchange server profile, select Change. If you do not have an account set up, you will need to select Add instead, and choose to add an Exchange account.
The Microsoft Exchange Server should be set to fc-exch01.flagler.edu. Enter your username in the User Name box. Click on More Settings. In the More Settings window, click the "Connection" tab. Make sure that "Connect using my Local Area Network (LAN)" is selected and check "Connect to my Exchange mailbox using HTTP". Now click the "Exchange Proxy Settings" button.
In the Exchange Proxy Settings window input exchange.flagler.edu as the URL to the proxy server for Exchange. Also make sure to check both "On fast networks..." options and under "Proxy authentication settings," use the drop-down box and select "Basic Authentication" option. Ensure your configuration matches the example below. Once done, click OK. You are taken back to the More Settings window. Now click and go to the "Security" tab. Here you need to check "Encrypt data between Microsoft Office Outlook and Microsoft Exchange Server" and click Apply and then OK.
Click Finish and a message will appear indicating that the configuration is complete. You will now be back at the main Exchange Server Settings window again. The next time you launch Outlook, you will receive a prompt for your user name and password. Note this will happen every time you launch Outlook going forward. Make sure to put flagler\ in front of your user name. Click OK.
