PROFESSIONAL SERVICE University and College 2013, September. Supported the LSUS Marketing Club guest speaker presentation. Advertised and encouraged participation of my four classes to this event, in which over 200 students, faculty, and staff attended the presentation on Understanding the Millennial Generation at LSUS. This presentation was then used in my classes as the topic of discussion. 2012, March. Attended the professional development presentation by Dr. Emily Sandoz from the University of Louisiana Lafayette on Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), sponsored by a Louisiana State University Shreveport grant 2012, March. Arranged to receive training in the use of iclicker for incorporation of this technology into class presentations at LSUS 2010 to Present. Serve as the consultant to all LSUS students preparing for a health science interview. Training students on the process and conducting simulated interviews with the students, which includes extensive feedback and improvement options 2009 to 2012. Volunteered to serve on the LSUS Tour Enhancement Committee, which is seeking to help the Admissions personnel improve the quality of tours given to prospective students on LSUS campus, Louisiana State University 2009, February. Hosted three German university students, while here for an international exchange at LSUS, Louisiana State University 2008. Selected to serve on the Dean s search committee to hire the Director of Assessment Coordinator for the College of Education & Human Development, Louisiana State University 2007 to Present. Served on the Student Affairs Committee, a standing committee of the Faculty Senate, Louisiana State University 2007 to 2011. 2005, Spring. Served on a Peer Review Committee for a PM-35 action of a faculty member, Louisiana State University 2005, August to Present. Selected to be the first representative from the College of Business, Education, and Human Development to the Health Science Advisory Committee, instrumental in maintaining excellent services and programs for LSUS students who are interested in health science careers, Louisiana State University 2005 to 2011. Provost converted the ad hoc General Education Committee into his permanent standing committee to revamp and coordinate general education issues for the university. Selected to remain as the College of Education and Human Development representative, Louisiana State University 2004, December to 2005, May. College of Education and Human Development representative to the ad hoc General Education Committee, which addressed Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS) recommendations and discrepancies, Louisiana State University 2004, Fall. Chair of the College of Education and Human Development Long-range Planning Committee to develop a five-year strategy for the college, Louisiana State University 2004, Spring. Served on the College of Education and Human Development search committee for finding a new dean, Louisiana State University 2003, November. Served on the ad hoc committee for the Faculty Senate to develop policy on auditing classes, Louisiana State University 2003, May. This committee determined the direction and established process for achieving a successful NCATE site visit, Louisiana State University 2003. Since its inception, was selected as a finalist for the Student Government Association s Professor of the Year for nearly every year, Louisiana State University 2002. Being a sponsor of a LSUS student organization, served on the search committee for the Director of Student Activities, Louisiana State University 2001 to Present. Chi Alpha (XA) sponsor for the LSUS chapter of this college student national Christian organization. Every year XA has actively participated in all Student Organization Council and Student Activities Committee events. XA members organized and directed several events. Several fundraising projects were initiated by XA members to help the Homeless Coalition partners in Caddo Parish, Louisiana State University
Department Service and Committees 2012 to Present. Psychology Club co-sponsor at LSUS. Arranges guest speakers for club meetings, coordinates club fundraising efforts, and synchronizes activities to ensure maximum campus involvement by the club. 2006-2007. Served on two psychology department selection committees. One committee searched for a general psychology position with experience in physiological psychology and the other committee searched for a counseling psychology person, Louisiana State University 2003, Spring. Served as Co-chair of the counseling psychology search committee and became Chair, when the other Co-chair was unavailable, due to illness, Louisiana State University 2002 to Present. Currently, serving on the Master of Science in Counseling Psychology (MSCP) Committee. For the MSCP program, this committee has developed the curriculum, created and maintained the Student Handbook, and handled all issues related to the successful operation of this graduate program, Louisiana State University 2001. Once the Board of Regents approved the LSUS application for the Master of Science in Counseling Psychology, served on the search committee to hire to personnel to this program, Louisiana State University 2000-2001. Volunteered to serve on the Master of Science in Counseling Psychology Committee, which coordinated adding this graduate degree at LSUS.
