110 Wiring Blocks The 110 Wiring Block is used to terminate cable pairs and permits a neat, organized arrangement of cables behind the block. It is a flame retardant molded plastic block with horizontal strips, each of which secures and organizes 25 cable pairs. The index strips are marked with five tip colors to help the installer locate pairs quickly. The blocks accommodate 22 through 26 AWG conductors and can be mounted directly on wall surfaces without backboards. 110 Wiring Blocks Copper Reference GigaSPEED X10D There are two types of 110 Wiring Blocks: A wiring blocks and D wiring blocks. The CommScope 4-Type Gas Discharge Tube with PTC (positive temperature coefficient) 5-Pin Protector Module provides high performance and long life for both overvoltage and over-current protection of voice-band and high-speed data circuits in controlled environments including central offices. Overvoltage protection is provided by a 3-element as discharge tube rated at 350V nominal with a fall-safe device, which provided insured protection in case of power cross. This includes all applications except those in plenums. These cables have a fireretardant PVC jacket and have been listed as CMR rated, in accordance with the National Electrical Code. AR cables are color coded to match standard Outside Plant (OSP) cable designs. The cable consists of solid soft bare copper that s insulated with foam polyethylene and a skin of PVC. Cores through 900-pair are color coded to match the standard PIC color code. Cables 1,200-pair and larger have a Mirror Image color code. Spare pairs are offered in cables of 1,200-pair and larger. An alvyn sheath is applied overall. The alvyn sheath consists of a 8 mil aluminum tape applied longitudinally and bonded to a gray PVC outer jacket. Individual packaging is utilized for all 10250 Series Universal Cable Runway, 11252 Series TELCO-Style Cable Runway and 11275 Series UL Classified Cable Runway. CPI Power Strips are available in two configurations: basic and metered. Basic Power Strips feature optional thermal circuit breakers and surge protection. Circuit breakers limit the amount of current available to equipment while surge protection blocks excessive voltage from equipment. Both features are critical with unconditioned line power. Metered configurations include an in-line digital ammeter with display to show the amount of current being used by attached equipment. This feature allows the user to monitor current use and judge the amount of remaining capacity on the power strip before adding a new device to the circuit. Choose vertical or horizontal rack-mount power strips that match the voltage and current rating of the power connection. PERFORMANCE SpecSeal Series SSP Putty is the basis for systems that meet the exacting criteria of ASTM E814 (UL1479). Systems have been tested for all common forms of construction and most common penetrants with ratings up to 3 hours. Sound attenuation properties have also been tested as per ASTM C919 and E90. Additionally, SpecSeal Putty Pads have been tested to UL263 (ASTM E119, NFPA 251) and are classified for up to 2 hours as a Wall Opening Protective Material for use with both metallic and nonmetallic outlet or switch boxes installed in gypsum wallboard assemblies (steel and wood stud assemblies). Boxes protected with SpecSeal Putty Pads have been successfully tested with box spacing reduced to less than 16. (Not tested nor approved for boxes installed directly back to back). PERFORMANCE SSB Pillows are the basis for systems that meet the exacting criteria of ASTM E814 (UL1479) as well as the time-temperature requirements of ASTM E119 (UL263). Tested systems will provide up to three-hour rating for penetrations through concrete, CMU, or concrete tilt-up walls, as well as concrete or concrete over steel deck floors. Additional systems have been tested up to three hours in gypsum board walls. AIR LEAKAGE: Tests conducted by Underwriters Laboratories for air leakage at ambient and elevated temperatures (400 F (204 C)) indicate that properly installed pillows seal penetrations virtually airtight.
