Introduction: The Institute of Leadership is part of the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland (RCSI) is the leading Irish organisation in professional education in healthcare. We are based in Bahrain, Ireland (Dublin) and the UAE (Dubai) with our mission to improve human health through the development of excellent leaders and managers in the health professions. Our service portfolio includes: Education to Postgraduate Diploma and Masters Degree levels in leadership, healthcare management, quality and professional Short tailored programmes and workshops in healthcare leadership, management, communication, coaching, quality management, risk management, project management, incident management, audit management, information and management and professional Consultancy services in healthcare quality, risk, incident, audit, and information management (including solutions). Applied research expertise using both qualitative and quantitative methodology Services offered: 1. Provision of, information and quality management consultancy and development to the healthcare organisations through the delivery of critically selected, information and quality management hands-on practical workshops and aligned consultancy services. 2. All, information and quality management consultancy services will be collaboratively agreed and provided through a blend of onsite direct contact consultancy and distant support via online web-based delivery systems all supplied by the Institute. 3. Workshops will usually take place onsite in the healthcare organisation as required and planned through collaborative agreement with the RCSI Institute of Leadership (referred to as the Institute from here on). 4. All materials required for the effective delivery of both consultancy services and workshops will be supplied by the Institute at the time of delivery as well as post-onsite delivery for an agreed time via the Institutes secure online document management system or eportfolio system. 5. Post-consultancy or workshop summary evaluation reports will be provided to the healthcare organisation by the Institute within 10 days of completed delivery. Consultancy Service & Workshop Features: 1. All consultancy services and/or workshops are/will be designed, customised and delivered by Mr. Luke Feeney and based on evidence-based international best practice. A detailed biography for Mr. Feeney is available on the final page of this proposal. 2. All consultancy services are delivered through a collaborative approach to ensure the full involvement of the healthcare organisation thereby underpinning the development of local competencies. The aims of the Institute s consultancy services are not only to deliver the agreed and expected outcomes with excellence, but to leave a legacy behind with the client organisation which can increase and develop their in-house capabilities for the future. 3. All workshops are fully RCSI CME/CPD certified. 4. All workshop participants can be provided with 1 x month s free access to the either the secure RCSI-IL online eportfolio system or document management system. These highly secure, custom-developed systems based on the Mahara and Alfresco open source products respectively, can manage all aspects of professional development, competency, reflective practice and networking (Mahara) and information management (Alfresco). Full post workshop documentation and resources will made available via the eportfolio or document management system. 5. Most of the workshops can cater for a maximum of 25 participants with exceptions as indicated in the descriptors later in this document. Consultancy & Workshop Pricing: The Institute will work with healthcare organisations on specific pricing for consultancy and workshop delivery based on their requirements, numbers, duration, etc. once initial service requirements have been identified and agreed. As an indicative guide, the cost per participant for a 2 x day workshop is usually in the order of 3,100 SAR/3,100 AED/3,000 QAR/$830 (travel & accommodation are extra), however the Institute would be delighted to work with healthcare organisations to provide beneficial pricing based on quantities of participants or workshops. Facilitators Biographies: Mr. Luke Feeney MSc Luke joined the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland Institute of Leadership in September 2006 as a Knowledge & Information and Quality Management consultant from the Dublin Dental School and Hospital where he was the Information Systems Manager for 6 1 / 2 years. During that time he was also on secondment as the Director of Dental Computing, Software and Training in Southern Illinois University, Alton, Illinois, USA. Luke has first class honours MSc in Quality & Safety in Healthcare and is currently in the final year of his professional doctorate with the University of Sunderland, UK. His area of research is the integration of risk, incident & audit management in healthcare. Luke has lectured and trained on all aspects of & information management and quality management and systems in the Royal College of Surgeons, Trinity College Dublin, the USA and the Middle East and has extensive practitioner experience of quality management having implemented and worked to ISO 9001, IHSAB, JCI, Excellence Ireland (managing people & organisations), UAE MOHESR CAA and ISO 27001 quality standards. Luke is also a certified CHKS Healthcare Surveyor (UK equivalent of JCI), ISO 27001 Information Security Management Systems Auditor, a certified PRINCE2 Practitioner (Project Management) and a council member of the Irish Society for Quality & Safety in Healthcare. An experienced management consultant, both nationally and internationally, his main interests and expertise relate to and information management and leadership, quality management and leadership and information technology solutions for healthcare and business. Mr. Denis Murphy MBA MSc Denis has been the Regulatory, Compliance and Quality Manager with the Dublin Dental School and Hospital, Ireland since 2005 having moved into healthcare from the private retail sector. His work with the Dublin Dental School and Hospital has provided him with a proven track record in the implementation of healthcare quality accreditation and certification with a strong customer focus and a commitment to lifelong learning. Denis has an MBA and MSc (Management and Business Research Methods) from the UK Open University and has just commenced his doctorate in education with the same institution. In addition to his role as a Regulatory, Compliance and Quality Manager, Denis is a module developer and lead on the Royal College of Surgeons MSc in Quality & Safety in Healthcare Management delivering in Ireland and the Middle since 2007.
