Selection of CPD Activities System 1. Healthcare practitioners should select their CPD activities on the basis of: Their scope of practice and the context of the needs of their organization: CPD activities should be relevant and applicable to what healthcare practitioners do. The learning needs of the individual practitioner. Their personal learning preferences. The needs of patients. 2. Lifelong learning must result in meaningful and measureable outcomes for practice. SLIDE 18
How will compliance be monitored? Healthcare practitioners who fail to meet the minimal annual requirement of 40 credits will be: Notified at the end of the first year of non adherence. Provided with information on how to seek assistance. Required to provide evidence of participation through a validation program in the remaining year of their cycle. Healthcare practitioners who have not met the minimum requirement of 80 credits by the end of their CPD cycle will be subject to having their registration and licensure in the State of Qatar terminated for non compliance (with opportunity to appeal). NB: The QCHP AD team will support you! SLIDE 19
The Credit Validation Program The QCHP AD has established a CPD audit process called credit validation for healthcare practitioners. It is a process that reviews the documentation/validation established for all learning activities included in the CPD framework and self reported in the portfolio. Each year, a random sample of 3 5% of healthcare practitioners are selected to participate in the credit validation program. SLIDE 20
Documentation of CPD Activities Every healthcare practitioner is required to maintain an individual CPD activity record, which will constitute his/her CPD eportfolio: Record details of completed learning activities. Record reflections on learning for practice. Upload the documentation as defined by the CPD Frameworkwhere applicable. A CPD portfolio will also include a planning section to state the individual learning needs identified. SLIDE 21
Developing a Learning Plan The development of a Learning Plan (or professional development Plan) will enable healthcare practitioners to: System Identify their personal learning needs. Develop specific learning goals based on the identified needs. Select relevant learning activities to accomplish the learning goals. Demonstrate how the outcomes achieved from the learning activities they selected allowed them to improve their professional practice. Setting a learning plan will enable HCPs to select activities from the CPD framework and credit system that are applicable to their practice. SLIDE 22
