REFUND POLICY for Community School classes There will be a $5.00 handling charge on all refunds except for those classes that do not carry. A full refund (minus $5.00) will be given during the first week when requested. For classes that have limited enrollment, there will be NO REFUND given unless the spot can be filled. All classes need a minimum number of students in order to justify the costs of carrying them. NO REFUND will be issued for those classes that do carry with a minimum enrollment. There will be no refunds during the second week or thereafter.

Class or Activity Descriptions SPRINGVILLE Community School WINTER 2015 1. Aerobic / Jazzercise ages 16 and up These one hour classes include warm-up, 25-30minutes toning with weight (opt.) and tubes (provided), floor work and cool down. Nancy Jasperson is a certified Jazzercise instructor. Please pay online. $18 per month. Walk-ins welcome $3 per class (pay at class). Register for this class the last week of each month. Classes held on Tuesdays & Thursdays at 6:00am No classes on Holidays. 2. Basketball Instructional 3 rd thru 8th grades Instructional Basketball is an intense and competitive environment for those from ages of 3 rd grade thru 8 th grade that are interested in developing their basketball skills. The focus of the class includes, but is not limited to, improving personal core strength and agility. As well as improving ball handling, shooting form, footwork, and other basketball skills necessary to compete at a high level. Kids are placed in groups with peers of their similar age. The class is held from 6:00am to 7:00am on B-Days (excluding Fridays) at Springville High School. START DATE: January 5 th thru April 2015 COST: $5.00 Register online only Questions? Cake Decorating Beginning ages 18 and up (Room #C17 at SHS) In this 4 week class you will learn the beginning basics of cake decorating from a professional Cake Decorating Instructor. Students will learn how to make icing, prepare bags and tips for decorating, and filling and icing several cakes like the pros! Students will also learn several decorating techniques as well as making icing decorations such as roses, piped figures, and how to transfer a design or image onto a cake. Come join us for 4 weeks of cake decorating fun! Each class meets once a week for 2 hours. Please contact Katherine O Donnell at 801-489-9842 for supply list. (The class price does not include the decorating kit or supplies.) 4. Computers Beginning ages 18 and up Microsoft Word (D-Wing @ SHS) This 5 week class is great for those who want to learn or brush up on their computer skills! This course will cover some of the basics of Microsoft Word, organization, sending, receiving, resizing, emailing, and some basics of Power Point. Lisa Crandall will be the teacher for this class. 5. Computers - Excel Beginning ages 18 and up (D-Wing @ SHS) This 5 week introductory course will cover different setup and produce different spreadsheets; learn formulas; make impressive charts for presentations and lots more. Lisa Crandall will be the instructor for this class. 6, 7. Dance Ballet ages 3 to 5 ages 6 to 8 SHS Dance Room G-Wing This ballet class will focus on learning the basic of ballet and move on to simple combinations. A great class for beginning dancers. The instructor for this 8 week class is Nicole Jeffs. Nicole has a degree in Dance Education from BYU and has been dancing for over 20 years. Limited enrollment - 12 students per class. Class is held in the G-Wing at SHS

Class or Activity Descriptions SPRINGVILLE Community School WINTER 2015 8. Dance Ballet for Adults ages 18 & up SHS Dance Room G-Wing This class is for people 18 years and older. All levels of dancers are invited to attend. Come review and practice your ballet technique. We will work on exercises and combinations at the barre, center floor and moving across the floor. Besides having fun doing ballet, an added benefit is getting a great workout. Ballet can help build muscle strength and increase flexibility. The instructor for this 8 week class is Nicole Jeffs. Nicole has a degree in Dance Education from BYU and has been dancing for over 20 years. 9. Gardening Spring Garden Mastery Landmark High School Hey everyone, come join us in our warm greenhouse for the spring gardening class. It is a fun filled class loaded with facts, opportunities to expand your gardening horizons, and everything you need to grow with the best of the best. Come learn all the secrets you wanted to know about gardening. Knowledge is always free. Experience gardening to the fullest from two of Utah Counties funniest gardeners. Gardeners know all the dirt. Experience the latest in Rhyzomitus Living. Expand your gardening skills from seed propagation to plant cuttings to bulb forcing to garden prep to tree pruning to planting techniques to hanging basket and patio combinations, we will fill your mind with as much information as you can absorb. Teachers for this 8 week course will be Mark Van Wagoner, garden columnist for the Daily Herald, and Mike Allen, formally of BYU s grounds department. Get ready for a great time. This is one of the top gardening classes in Utah County, right here in Spanish Fork. Enjoy the use and experience of one of the nicest greenhouse facilities in the state. We need at least 30 participants to fill the class. Each class member will have the opportunity to grow their choice of ornamental or vegetable plants for use in their own gardens. It s a great time and an awesome class. The class fills fast, so don t delay. This would be a great Christmas gift for that favorite gardener in your life. Hope to see you there! Gymnastics Indoor track at SHS By teaching the basics of gymnastics for the pre-beginner to advanced beginner, these classes hope to develop children's body awareness and control, improve their mental concentration and strengthen their muscles which will help in other sports and activities. Susan Hawks is the teacher for this 8 week course. Classes will be held on Wednesday s days. Class size is limited. Hunter Safety The Utah Hunter Education program helps you learn essential safety skills and develop practical techniques useful for hunting. Completion of a basic hunter education course is required to obtain a hunting license in Utah if you were born after Dec. 31, 1965. Students are required to obtain a voucher (cost $10.00) at a license agent for the Utah Division of Wildlife Resources, prior to registering for a Hunter Education course. Upon successful completion of the course, the license will allow a Hunter Education graduate to hunt small game during the current season. The Hunter Education card, commonly known as the Blue Card will be mailed to the student at the address provided on the voucher. Limit 30 students per class LOCATION: Payson High School - Room D1 TIME: 6:00pm to 9:00pm Instructor: Todd Stoker DATES: February 23, 24, 25, 26, 2015 12. Martial Arts ages 6 to 9 Indoor track at SHS Introduce your child to the martial arts with an all-around-approach. Your child will be introduced to the basic of strikes, grabs escapes, discipline, and ground work of self-defense. The instructor for this 4 week course is Kelly Larson. Limit 10 students. Class held at the indoor track at Springville High school. 13. Photography Beginning ages 16 and up D-Wing at SHS Want to learn more about photography and how to take better pictures? Want to learn how to use your digital camera better as well? This six week course includes the basics of photo composition and lighting, posing and family pictures, wedding photography including a better understanding of all aspects in photography! Studio lighting, photo manipulation using Adobe Photoshop and Lightroom as well as lens selection. Bring your digital camera as we explore the art of photography! If you are just a beginner or an intermediate photographer, this is the class for you. Lou Crandall is the instructor for this 6 week class. This class fills up quickly (limit 20 students).

Pottery, Beginning ages 16 and up SHS Rm # C-15 This 10 week course is designed for both the beginner and the intermediate student. The class will include wedging clay, throwing a bowl form, trimming and glazing. Intermediate students will throw an altered form, a closed form, and/or throwing a large platter. Enrollment is limited to 15 students. The instructor for this class is Mario Gonzales. Class is held in room C-15 at Springville High. If this class fills up we will open another class. Please call Gwen at 801-354-7418 for more information. 15. Pottery, Intermediate/Advanced ages 16 and up SHS Rm # C-15 Want to develop your own style while learning to create larger items? This 10 week course is designed for those with some previous experience in pottery. A basic knowledge of pottery (beginning class) is suggested. Be prepared to build upon existing skills by learning to throw larger and more complex forms. Enrollment is limited to 15 students. Mario Gonzales will be the instructor for this class. Class I held at Springville High in room C-15. 16. Quilting Piece Makers Quilting Bee SHS Rm #C-13 Beginners to advanced quilters welcome. We meet once a month the 3 rd Thursday from 6:00pm to 9:00pm. We will have quilting & tool demonstrations, and learn various methods to improve quilting skills. We do monthly quilting projects. List of materials will be provided each month. Most projects utilize your fabric stash. Come make new friends, learn and have fun! Yearly Bee fee $5.00 in addition to the District $10.00 yearly fees. Meet in Room C-13 at Springville High School. Please pay at class. 17. Spanish, Beginning ages 16 and up Level 1 SHS Rm # C-21 This class is a basic introduction to the Spanish language focusing on simple conversational patterns and vocabulary. Instructor is Francein Jones. This is a 6 week course. 18. Spanish, Beginning ages 16 and up Level 2 SHS Rm #C-21 Continuation of the Fall class. Focus on verb conjugation and conversational patterns. Instructor is Francein Jones. This is a 6 week course. 19. Spinning SHS Indoor Track Spinning class is a 45 minute indoor cycling class on stationary bikes twice a week. Spinning boosts calorie burn by 40% and is great for all fitness levels. Don t forget a water bottle and towel. Class is held in the fitness room at Springville High School (Indoor Track). Choose a class time. Register online. Limit 15 students per class. Walk-ins welcome $2 per class. Some classes may be canceled if there is not enough participants.
