Page 3 of 12 Bulletin: AN2900-05-001 1.0 OUTLINE This application note will provide details concerning the configuration, support of and how the Internal MoH (Music On Hold) functions. 2.0 OVERVIEW OF INTERNAL MOH Internal MoH is a function which allows a Dterm IP user to download and store a music file of their individual preference on the IP terminal. This music file will playback when the IP terminal is placed on hold. Terminal #1 Terminal #2 Internal Music on Hold Stored in terminal #1 Explanation: Call is connected in a peer to peer mode between Terminal #1 and Terminal #2 Terminal #1 Terminal #2 Internal music is played in Headset of terminal #1 Terminal #2 places the call on Hold Explanation: Sometime later Terminal #2 places Terminal #1 on hold

Page 4 of 12 Bulletin: AN2900-05-001 Service Conditions: - Music file is only played back to the terminal on which the file is stored. - Music file will only function when the call is configured as a peer to peer call. - Music file will only follow system programming when the call crosses different transmission paths. (Example: IP to TDM to IP) - Voice Server program must enable MoH file play back. 3.0 COMPATIBILITY The Internal MoH functionality is compatible on the following NEC IP terminals and adapters. Terminal Type Firmware Release IPW-2U 1.53 or greater IP-R 2.10 or greater ITR-2 1.20 or greater ITR-3 1.20 or greater ITR-LC-1 1.05 or greater ITR-320C-1 2.00 or greater ITR-320G-1 2.00 or greater ITR-240G-1 1.06 or greater 4.0 MUSIC ON HOLD The MoH file which is stored within the Dterm IP must be of an.mdf (wave file) compliant format.
