The first warning indicates that the DHCP Server in the NEC Telephone System should be inactive. DAPs should get their IP configuration from the DHCP Server that is running on your DAP Controller/Manager PC. The second warning indicates that there is no firmware file in the TFTP directory. If you get this firmware file warning, confirm that the firmware file (4910b404.dwl) is in the following directory: C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\NEC\DAP Controller\ <system name>\ Where <system name> is the name you defined on the General page in Step 6. on page 5. Application Data is a hidden folder, and may not be displayed. If this is the case, from the tools menu, select Folder Options/View tab/show Hidden Files and Folders radio button. 12 Subscriptions
25 NEC Issue 1.0 The file name of the firmware should match the file name that is specified in Step 6. on page 5 in this procedure. When the system is activated, an Internet Explorer window is automatically started, showing the DECT Manager interface. You can close this window now. The system is activated and all relevant services are started. Click Exit to finish the configuration procedure. 31. Reboot all AP200S, power down and power up. HOW TO SUBSCRIBE A HANDSET Preconditions: Verify that the extension number has been assigned in the DAP Manager and also in the NEC system to which the NEC SIP DECT Solutions system is connected. Have the handset ready. Actions: 1. Select the required available extension number(s). If the required number is not visible, you may need to select another page. The page number is displayed in the top and bottom rows of the subscriptions table. In the example there is one page. To select a range of numbers, choose the first in the range, then hold the shift key and click the last in the range. 2. Click Enable (or press shift + E). The PIN is shown. A Personal Identification Number (PIN) is generated by the DAP Manager on each subscribe operation and only displayed while the subscription status is enabled. 3. Enter the PIN from the handset within 15 minutes. If the PIN is not entered within 15 minutes, the subscription mode is terminated for that specific extension number and the subscription process must be started from the beginning. NEC SIP DECT Solutions Technician Guide 13
26 Issue 1.0 NEC HOW TO DISABLE SUBSCRIPTION Actions: 1. Select the required available extension number(s). To select a range of numbers, choose the first in the range, then hold the shift key and click the last in the range. 2. Click Disable. Additional Information: When a subscription is disabled, it is put in the blacklist. The system tries to reach the handset and remove the subscription data from it. If the system is successful in reaching the handset and removing the subscription, the extension is free again and the handset can be registered with another extension number. You cannot make and receive calls while the handset is disabled. HOW TO REMOVE A SUBSCRIPTION FOR DAP MANAGER Use caution when using this option. Only use it if the handset is no longer available (e.g., broken or lost). When a subscription is removed, the subscription data in the handset is not cleared. The subscription data in the handset must be cleared manually after the subscription has been removed. Actions: 1. Select the required available extension number(s). To select a range of numbers, choose the first in the range, then hold the shift key and click the last in the range. 2. Click Terminate. 14 Subscriptions

The other information is for the engineer. It is generated by the system and cannot be changed. It is possible to change the RPN of a DAP by editing the RPN field. This should only be done by the install technician or someone familiar with RPN synchronization. Refer to the NEC SIP DECT Solutions Technician Guide for more information. 16 Access Points
29 NEC Issue 1.0 In the task area, Reboot, Reboot All, and Delete are displayed. You may want to reboot a DAP for a software upgrade or if the DAP is not functioning properly. Use Delete to remove radios that are defective and can no longer be repaired. HOW TO BACKUP SUBSCRIPTION DATA Actions: 1. Click Backup. 2. In the File Download window, enter an understandable name for this file (the default name is Backup.zip). 3. Click Save. HOW TO RESTORE SUBSCRIPTION DATA Actions: 1. Click Restore. 2.
