Pag. 3 The Chiorri Company The Azienda Vitivinicola Chiorri came into being at the end of the 1800 s on the holding at Sant Enea, a delightful location on the border of the municipality of Perugia. The winery s vines are laid out across a gentle hill which has been used for grape growing since Etruscan times, and from which one can enjoy an enchanting view that includes the towns of Assisi and Todi. The company, a family-run business, boasts competent and specialized workers who know how to combine the most antique traditions with the most modern technologies, without ever losing sight of the final objective: the pleasure of enjoying a glass of good wine with a unique and genuine flavour. Where we are From the North West: Autostrada A1 Milano-Napoli, exit Valdichiana, towards Perugia; link road Perugia-Bettole, exit at P.S.Giovanni direction Roma; Superstrada E45, direction Roma, exit S.Martino in Campo-Torgiano; direction S.Martino in Colle- S.Enea after the turn off for S.Nicolò di Celle-S.Angelo di Celle. From the North East: Autostrada A14 Adriatica, exit Cesena Nord direction Perugia; Superstrada E45, direction Roma, exit at S.Martino in Campo-Torgiano; direction S.Martino in Colle-S.Enea after the exit for S.Nicolò di Celle-S.Angelo di Celle. From the South: Autostrada A1 Milano-Napoli, exit for Orte, direction Perugia; link road Terni-Orte, E45 exit, direction Perugia; exit at S.Martino in Campo-Torgiano; direction S.Martino in Colle-S.Enea after the turn off for S.Nicolò di Celle-S.Angelo di Celle.

Pag. 4 Vineyards The company s vines, planted across a gentle hill, have excellent orientation and sun exposure. The land s inherent characteristics have been long recognised, for centuries in fact, as ideal for grape growing, being recognised and protected by the Denominazione d origine controllata (controlled nomination of origin) title of Colli Peruginiand the Indicazione Geografica tipica dell Umbria. The care and attention for their vineyard s some 20 hectares of vines, includes short shoot pruning which is carried out by hand, biological treatments which are ecologically compatable in accordance with the criteria for low environmental impact and picking carried out by hand into woven baskets. All these and many other attentions to detail are the fundamental ingredients in obtaining a wine of class, of the highest quality, which evokes the flavours and perfumes of the Umbrian countryside. Amoungst the varietals cultivated for white wine we find Greghetto, Trebbiano and Malvasia, and those for red wine, the Sangiovese, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. Wines Amoungst the DOC dei Colli Perugini category of wines produced by the Azienda Vitivinicola Chiorri is the Bianco, the Rosato, the Rosso and the Saliato, the wines of the IGT dell Umbria include the Grechetto, the Sangiovese, the Gabri, the Zeffiro and the Gabrino. The Selezione Antonio Chiorri is a limited series of hand-numbered bottles produced every uear in rememberance of the Winery s founder. Apart from the standard 0.75 litre format, it is possible to obtain a 1.5 litre magnum bottle of the Selezione Antonio Chiorri and the Rossi DOC.

Pag. 5 Awards The wines produced by the Azienda Vitivinicola Chiorri have received recognition and honourable mentions in wine guides and some of the more important and prestigious events in the wine sector including: La Guida ai vini d Italia Gambero Rosso Editore, La Guida di vino Quotidiano Slow Food Editore, L Amanacco del bere bene and the Guida ai vini rosati both by Gambero Rosso Editore, Il Golosario by Paolo Massobrio, with the selection of the TOP Hundred, Duemilavini by the Associazione Italiana Sommeliers and the Merano International Wine Festival. Events The Chiorri Winery is provided with a large and welcoming tasting room where it is possible to taste the house wines guided by knowledgeable professionals. Wine lovers are always welcome at the Winery for wine tasting and there is always someone available to listen and answer any questions they might have about the fascinating wine world, a world so old and yet, at the same time, new. If you book ahead it is possible to take a guided tour of the vineyard and the Winery itself, finishing up with a wine tasting together with some sampling of cheeses, salamis and local Umbrian specialties. We can also organise catered evening celebrations, but only with advanced booking. The Cantina is also happy to receive children, from maternity, primary and intermediate schools, in order to discover the lifestyle and the culture that revolves around a life in the country, on the land. The Cantina is participant in numerous events including Cantina Aperte, Vinitaly, Expò, and both local and national manifestations.
