3 Castiglion del Bosco is one of Tuscany s most noteworthy estates and a leading producer of the renowned Brunello di Montalcino. Situated in the northwestern part of Montalcino, the estate extends over 1,785 hectares (4,300 acres) of woodland, meadows, vineyards and olive groves. Here, among deer, wild boar and pheasants, sunlit hills nurture 62 hectares (155 acres) of premium Sangiovese grapes, handpicked by farmers since the 18th century.

6 Our 62 hectares of vineyard, 51 of which are licensed to produce Brunello, extend over two separate areas with different exposures and climatic characteristics. - The spectacular Capanna vineyards are located between 460 and 350 meters above sea level and face southwest. - The soil at Capanna is characterized by the presence of sandstone, layers of clay and galestro, a typical Tuscan stone. - The microclimate in this area is strongly influenced by the sea with hot, dry summers and constant winds that reduce humidity.

7 The Gauggiole vineyards are located on the northern side of the property, overlooking Buonconvento, at around 250 meters above sea level, facing southwest. - Here the soil has a medium texture, with a larger presence of clay. - The microclimate is hot and dry in the summer and more humid in winter and spring. - As a result, the wines from this area are fresh and elegant.

8 Along with its Montalcino vineyards, Castiglion del Bosco owns a 10 hectare estate called Prima Pietra, close to the Bolgheri wine area on the Tuscan coast. - These vineyards overlook the sea at an altitude of 450 meters. - They are characterized by a particularly favourable climate, influenced at the same time by the proximity of the sea and the adjacent mountains. - Wines from Riparbella have elegant and rich flavors and aromas.

11 The new Castiglion del Bosco cellar covers an area of square feet and was designed to the highest standards of quality in every stage of production, in line with the tradition of Montalcino winemaking. - At harvest time the grapes are handpicked and immediately transported to the winery in small 44 pounds crates. - Careful handselection of the cluster is carried out before pressing. - The stainless wine vats are filled by gravity alone, without using mechanical pumps.

12 Winemaking at Castiglion del Bosco is managed by Cecilia Leoneschi who has been at the winery since 2003 and who oversees both the vineyards and the cellar. Cecilia is supported by the experienced oenologist Nicolò d Afflitto.

15 CdBianco IGT CdBianco, made exclusively from Chardonnay grapes, is a rich, complex wine of superb elegance and balance that marries eloquent varietal expression with notes of spice from barriqueageing. Its wellstructured palate boasts a smooth, appealing mouthfeel, while the finish is near endless. 16 Rosso di Montalcino DOC Castiglion del Bosco s Rosso di Montalcino is sourced from Gauggiole vineyard, on the northern side of the estate. A ruby red hue and delicate bouquet announce a remarkably luscious wine, well balanced and firmly structured, with a longlingering finish. 17 Brunello di Montalcino DOCG Complexity, superb structure, and an inviting, mouthfilling palate are the hallmarks of this Sangiovese grown in the 42 hectare Capanna vineyard facing towards the Mediterranean sea. A garnetflecked ruby red, it releases generous, emphatic fragrances classic to Sangiovese, developing a nearendless progression notable for its beautiful balance. 18 Campo del Drago Brunello di Montalcino DOCG Complexity, Campo del Drago is a Brunello di Montalcino cru from the finest vineyard in the Capanna area, a hectare and a half at the highest elevation. Superbly-structured and with a distinctive personality, it is the most refined expression of Sangiovese produced at Castiglion del Bosco. 19 Millecento Brunello di Montalcino Riserva DOCG Produced only in exceptional growing years and in a limited quantity of 1,100 magnums, Millecento is a Brunello di Montalcino Riserva with a truly distinctive personality, a complex, warm-toned, seductive wine. 20 Riparbella: Dainero IGT The grapes for Dainero are grown in the Riparbella area, in a vineyard that receives beneficent breezes from the Mediterranean sea. Ruby red in colour, this finelybalanced wine releases intense notes of fruit and spice, it is fullbodied and wellrounded in the mouth. Harvest period: Merlot: first 10 days of September. 21 Riparbella: Prima Pietra IGT Sourced from the vineyard in the Riparbella area, Prima Pietra is structure and elegance personified, an eloquent expression of the exceptional quality of its terroir. The bouquet is fullvolumed and nearendless, with fragrances of wild red berry melding into delicate notes of spice. The palate is complex, displaying impressive extractive depth and tannins that are dense, smooth, and glossy.
