How to install/upgrade the LANDesk virtual Cloud service appliance (CSA) The upgrade process for the virtual Cloud Services Appliance is a side- by- side install. This document will walk you through backing up either a physical or virtual Cloud Services appliance and restoring your settings to your new 4.3 virtual CSA. Prerequisites: ü Validate Cloud Services Appliance for upgrade (Must be a Physical Cloud Services Appliance or virtual machine running 4.2) ü 4.3 requires a more complex password. Change the service account password on the Cloud Services Appliance and then on the core as to not lock out the service account after the upgrade. ü ESXi 5.x server with the following resources available: - CPU - 2 Processors - Memory - 8GB RAM - Storage - 50GB - Network - 2 1GB NICs ü Take note of settings & write down network & firewall configuration information. (IP addresses, DNS, Blocked & Allowed network addresses) Also keep registration information handy. Document the Cloud Services Appliance network settings: ü Go to the Systems page and click on Network settings Written by Nathan Smith and Bill Farley on September 10, 2013 Rev. 1
Document the Firewall settings: ü Go to the Security page and take note of the Firewall settings
ü Document the Trusted services settings ü Document the Gateway service configuration of the Additional host names
ü Apply the latest backup patch DBUPDATE_1 To apply the DBUPDATE_1 patch: 1. Go to the System page. 2. Click on the Updates tab 3. Scan for Update by clicking on the Scan for Updates button
4. Click on Apply to apply thedbupdate_1 update Starting the Upgrade process: 1. Open a browser on a workstation & navigate to the Cloud Services Appliance web- page https://csa Name or ipaddress/gsb (You may see a warning about an untrusted web site depending on the web browser you are using)
2. Login to the Cloud Services Appliance web page 3. The CSA web page should be displayed
4. Go to the System page, and then click on the Back up and restore tab 5. Click on the Back up Now button
6. After the system is backed up a new file will show up in the Backup Files list. 7. Click on Export to export the backup file to the workstation (Remember the location of the backup file on your workstation because the new backup file will be needed to restore the users on the CSA device after the upgrade) The 4.2 Cloud Services Appliance is now ready for the 4.3 side by side install of the cloud services appliance. 1. Download the LANDesk virtual Cloud service appliance from Product Downloads page to a machine that has the VMware vsphere client install. 2. Create a folder called GatewayVM 3. Copy the downloaded file to the GatewayVM folder 4. Extract the CSA files to the GatewayVM directory using any unzip utility.
5. Take note of the location that you extracted the CSA files to; you will need this information to copy the CSA files to the ESXi server. a. Example: e:\gatewayvm 6. Logon to the ESXi server 7. High light the server name or IP address (10.15.0.88 in this example) 8. Click on the Summary tab 9. Right click on the Storage device to where you want to copy the LANDesk Cloud Services Appliance. (datastore1 in this example). 10. Upload the GatewayVM folder to where you extracted the CSA file. 11. Click on the Upload Folder icon 12. Browse to location of the GatewayVM folder that you created and Click OK.
13. The uploading windows should be displayed; this will take some time to copy the folder to the ESXi 5.x server. 14. After the copy in complete you will need to add the LANDesk CSA Virtual Machine to the ESXI server.
15. To add the New CSA virtual machine to the ESXi server Inventory click on the GatewayVM folder in the right hand window. 16. Right Click on Gateway.vmx file 17. Click on Add to Inventory 18. The Add to Inventory will open 19. Name the New Virtual Machine (Gateway in this example) 20. Click Next
21. Select the resource pool that you want to use to run the CSA Virtual Machine 22. 10.15.0.88 in this example and click Next. 23. Close the Datastore Browser windows by selecting Finish.
Starting the New Cloud Services Appliance Virtual Machine. 1. Right Click on Gateway in the right side windows 2. A yellow i will be displayed next to the Gateway Virtual Machine. 3. 4. Click on the Gateway Virtual Machine
5. Click on the Summary tab 6. Click OK in the Virtual Machine Message windows, make sure the I copied it button is marked. 7. The CSA virtual machine should now start. 8. Click on the Console tab to watch the Virtual Machine boot. 9. Enter the Login: name (admin) 10. Enter the password: admin (nothing will displayed when you type the password) 11. Press Enter to login. 12. The LANDesk Cloud Services Appliance windows will open.
13. Scroll down to the bottom of the EULA page and click the Accept button 14. The user will then be prompted to change the Admin & Service password 15. Enter the new password and click the Save button
16. (The LANDesk Cloud Service Appliance page will be displayed) 17. Click on the System page button to start to configure the network settings. You will now need the Network information that you documented in the prerequisites steps 18. To configure the network settings click on Network settings 19. Enter the IP address, Net mask and Gateway information, 20. Delete the any of the unused address and Click the Add button
21. Enter the DNS Setting IP address, Delete the any of the unused address and Click the Add button 22. Enter the Hostname, for example, testcsa and click the Save button 23. Next, we will configure the Firewall blocked & allowed addresses 24. Open the Security page, Add or Remove IP addresses from the Blocked Addresses list 25. Add or Remove IP addresses from the Allowed Addresses list and click Save 26. Note: Make sure that any private IP ranges that you may be using are removed.
27. Check or un- check the Trusted services that are needed and save
28. Re- activate the CSA via the Activation page, then press the Activate Now button. 29. Enter the Org. ID and Activation key code (This is the username and password that are used when activating your LDMS core server) and click the Activate online button
30. The System activated successfully screen will be displayed (below) 31. Lastly, we will restore the 4.2 Cloud Services Appliance backup file to the new 4.3 CSA device 32. From a workstation 33. Open a browser on a workstation enter the Cloud Service Appliance web- page https://csa Name or ipaddress/gsb 34. (Again, you may see a warning about untrusted web site depending on the web browser you are using)
35. Login to the Cloud Services Appliance web page 36. The Cloud Services Appliance web page will be displayed and you will go to the System page and click on the Back up and restore tab.
37. Click the Browse button and go to the backup file that was saved during the Prerequisites steps 38. Click the Import button to restore the backup file
39. The Uploaded backup image successfully screen will be displayed 40. You will then want to check that the users were restored, which you can see on the Users page. All of the users from the 4.2 Cloud Services Appliance should be listed.
