The MBA performs the tasks that no one individual can do alone thus benefiting all citizens. It is a vehicle through which the business and professional people of our community work together voluntarily to define and solve community problems in order to bring about needed improvements. The MBA, as an organization, has a unique perspective on the community and the issues that shape it. Our members represent everyone from individuals to retail shop owners, small business owners, manufacturing, civic organizations to major corporations. All members come together through committee and board meetings, seminars, informal networking and daily interaction to make things happen for our organization and for the community. What the MBA will do for you The MBA is membership driven. An organization is only as strong as its member s participation. It is the members who make programs successful. MBA members and Board of Directors form five committees; including Ambassador, Special Events, Marketing, Finance/Grants, and Membership Services. Members and Board of Directors serve on special projects like the Matteson Business Expo, Business Appreciation & Anniversary Breakfast, and Matteson Business Franchise Expo among others. Ribbon Cutting: Opportunities to promote your business. Our Ambassadors come to your business to give you a red ribbon welcome upon joining the MBA, grand openings, open houses or other special events. The Ambassadors also celebrate members with the Meet Your Merchant giving store-front businesses the opportunity to give a two minute commercial promo at the Village of Matteson Board of Trustees. Business Connection: Our monthly newsletter is mailed to every member. We recognize new members, renewals, special activities, special anniversaries, and announcements. We also inform of upcoming events, and meetings. MBA Standing Committee Meetings Ambassadors Represents the MBA as official host at ribbon cuttings, grand openings, networking events etc. Periodically visit fellow MBA members to bring ideas and concerns back to the Board of Directors. Special Events Focuses on bringing promotional events for businesses and the community at large to Matteson. Plans year-round networking and promotional opportunities such as Annual Business Expo, Business Breakfast, and other festivities. Marketing Focus on promoting MBA members and their businesses. Develops an MBA promotional campaign, create and continue to develop retention tools. Membership Services Encourages members involvement to help promote visibility and commerce among other member businesses. Finance/ Grants Create budget and seek financial resources and sponsorships to enhance and strengthen the growth of the Matteson Business Association.
