Or you may just want to relax in the sun with a good book on our deck overlooking beautiful Paradise Valley and its ribbon of blue winding north to meet up with the Missouri. Guided tours of spectacular Yellowstone Park are also available. You won t find children at the Six Quarter Circle Ranch. It s a place where adults can get away and experience the serenity of the mountains. We find that couples appreciate our ranch because each can pursue his or her own interests during the day then swap stories over a delicious dinner and a bottle of fine wine from our extensive wine list in the evening. Six Quarter Circle Ranch A HORSES t Six Quarter Circle you can ride all day, everyday, on 25 square miles of pristine wilderness on the edge of Yellowstone National Park. Guests actively participate in ranch work, whether it s pushing cattle to higher, greener pastures, throwing salt or fixing fence. Experience is not necessary our cowboys will provide horsemanship instruction and we have strong mountain horses for every level of ability. And you are welcome to bring your own horse; board and feed are included. If you prefer a gentler ride, our wranglers will guide you on a two-hour ride to Ramshorn Lake at the foot of 10,000 foot Ramshorn Peak. The basaltic cliffs that tower over the lake are home to one of the largest herds of bighorn sheep in the state. If you are an angler, you can spend a few hours fishing for cutthroat trout before you head back to the lodge for some well deserved R & R. Summers are spent moving the herd between pastures to ensure there s good grazing and to let the land rest. It s a big job and ranch guests are a critical part of our operation. In addition to pushing cattle, there are fences to mend and other backcountry ranch tasks that guests participate in each day. I have always wanted to experience working on a real cattle ranch. After breakfast our professional wranglers will have your horse ready to go and you ll head into the high country in search of cattle. You ll stop for lunch along the trail and compare notes on the day s adventures. Most guests have fond memories of the calf that nearly got away or the bull with a mind of his own. After lunch you ll hit the trail for the afternoon and be home in time for a hot shower and drinks on the deck with stunning views of our mountain valley.
Six Quarter Circle Ranch Dining and Accommodations At 6 Quarter Circle Ranch, we provide first-class lodging and dining to complement your cattle drive experience. Our Montana cabin-style rooms each have a private bath and gorgeous views. After a long day on the trail and a hot bath, you can join our other guests in the Rocky Mountain Spirit Bar. Choose from a wide selection of domestic and premium beers and fine California and Northwest wines. Dinner is prepared by our professional chef and might include roasted pork tenderloin or fresh trout served with butternut squash and chipotle pepper soup and a southwestern Caeser salad. Mouthwatering desserts are prepared daily by our skilled pastry chef. We are also happy to provide vegetarian meals and to accommodate your special nutritional needs. With over 20,000 acres of habitat in which to hunt, bordering Yellowstone National Park, our lodge is perfectly situated to ensure success. Our elk and deer combination hunts last five days, and hunters sleep in cabins at various spike camps in the backcountry. We provide one guide for every two hunters.
