RTU-1 Project: Embassy of Philippines 07/21/2016 TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS Objective: The Embassy of the Philippines in Washington DC intends to replace the existing 24- year old CARRIER-40 ton roof top unit (RTU) #1 servicing the First and Second floors including Basement 1 & 2 of the Main Embassy building located at 1600 Massachusetts Ave. NW, Washington DC, USA 20036 Purpose: To replace the roof top unit due to major leak and constant breakdown. All mechanical and electrical parts including R-22 Freon gas refrigerants (banned chemical substance) are no longer available in the market. The unit is now running using two refurbished compressors installed in the year 2011, inefficiently consuming far more electricity, which translated to higher cost, especially during winter and summer months. Scope of Work: Shut down power to defective Carrier unit and make safe for removal; Disconnect electrical and controls from the existing unit; New unit to have Stand-Alone Controls with a factory Scrolling Marquee Display; Disconnect supply and return ductwork and remove ducts back to the existing roof curb; Provide the crane & rigging to remove defective unit and place new unit back on existing roof curb. It is assumed a crane can setup on 17 th and N- Street during normal business hours. The crane service will provide all necessary street closure permits and traffic control. Note: building height-60 ft., crane to set up within 30 ft of building, load s setback on roof edge- 30 ft.; Also remove the supply and return ductwork from the roof and properly dispose of everything; Set up economizer and reconnect the electrical and controls to the new unit, reuse the existing fused safety disconnect; Trap condensate and terminate at roof away from unit; Provide new internally insulated supply and return ducts from existing roof curb to new unit; Seal all connections watertight and apply one coat of alumanation 301rustproofing to all new ductwork; The new package unit, voltage 208/230, 3-phase will have a capacity of 40 tons of cooling which matches existing. The largest electric heat available for this unit is 54 KW which is also included. New unit includes Differential Enthalpy Ultra Low Leakage Economizer, Variable Frequency Drive on the Supply Fan, Premium Efficiency 25 HP Motor, Outdoor or Return Air RH Sensor, AI/Cu Condenser, AI/Cu Evaporator Coils; All interface control wiring connecting to existing controls and to automatic transfer control (ATC) for the new unit is included; Perform a check, test and startup of new unit to verify proper operation; Provide all O & M manuals; close out documents to the customer and demonstration of new system. While a very significant effort has been made to insure the technical accuracy of this program, it is assumed that the user is knowledgeable in the art of system sound estimation and is aware of the tolerances involved in real world acoustical estimation. This program makes certain assumptions as to the dominant sound sources and sound paths which may not always be appropriate to the real system being estimated. Because of this, no assurances can be offered that this software will always generate an accurate sound prediction from user supplied input data. If in doubt about the estimation of expected sound levels in a space, an Acoustical Engineer or a person with sound prediction expertise should be consulted.
