Adding the VLAB as a Trusted Site Before logging in to the VLAB the first time add: https://vlab.hodges.edu as a Trusted Site. 1) Open the Control Panel and select: Internet Options 2) Go to the Security Tab, 3) Select: Trusted Sites and then click the Sites button. 4) Type: https://vlab.hodges.edu 5) Click: Add 6) Click: Close Adding the VLAB as a Trusted Site 4
Accessing the VLAB using Windows 8 1) Open a browser and go to: https://vlab.hodges.edu 2) Type in your MyHugo username and password 3) Click: Log on The first time you access the site, you will need to install the Citrix Receiver Client 4) Click the Box that you agree with the Citrix License Agreement 5) Click: INSTALL Accessing the VLAB using Windows 8 5
When prompted to Run or Save the Citrix Receiver 6) Select: Run The Citrix Receiver Installation Program will begin. 7) Click: Install Accessing the VLAB using Windows 8 6
The Citrix Receiver Installation Program begins. When the Citrix Receiver Installation Program has completed, 8) Click: Finish Accessing the VLAB using Windows 8 7

Using Internet Explorer and Windows 8 to Access the VLAB In Internet Explorer, from the VLAB Home Screen, 1) Double-click on a Folder to open it. 2) Click on an Application to open it. When using Internet Explorer Launch.ica file. 3) Click: Save a box will pop-up asking you to Open or Save the Using Internet Explorer with Windows 8 9
4) Save the Launch.isa file to your Desktop 5) Right-click: the Launch.ica file 6) Select: Open With Using Internet Explorer with Windows 8 10

Back in Internet Explorer, 12) Click on the Application you want to open. Your selected Application will then open. To avoid the pop-up box asking you to Open or Save the Launch.ica file every time you want to open an Application you can use Firefox. Using Internet Explorer with Windows 8 14
Using Firefox and Windows 8 to Access the VLAB Citrix Receiver Firefox Settings Before logging in to the VLAB, in Firefox 1) Select: Options 2) Select: Add-ons Using Firefox with Windows 8 15
3) Click on Plugins in the menu on the left side of the page 4) Change the Citrix ICA Client and the Citrix URL-Redirection Helper Plugin 5) From: Ask to Activate 6) To: Always Activate Using Firefox with Windows 8 16

Accessing the VLAB on a Droid 1. Download Citrix Receiver from the Google App Store 2. Open Receiver app and tap on Set up my enterprise apps 3. Fill in the following information a. Address: https://xenapppoc.hodges.edu b. Type: Access Gateway c. Description: Optional d. Username: Your MyHugo username e. Password: Your MyHugo password f. Domain: ic g. Gateway Type: Enterprise Edition h. Authentication Type: Domain Only 4. Tap Add Accessing the VLAB using a Droid 32
5. If you receive a message asking if you want to accept the certificate, tap Accept 6. You should now be able to use the applications Accessing the VLAB using a Droid 33
Troubleshooting Connection Issues When launching a VLAB application you are prompted to save the.ica file. 1) Install the Citrix client. See the How to install Citrix client for instructions. 2) If you are certain you have the client installed, make sure you have https://vlab.hodges.edu added as a trusted site. See the Browser Security Settings section for instructions. The wrong client software has been installed Opening the VLAB you get to the point where it says, "Allow", it won't load to the next step which is the "welcome" and just goes in a continuous loop 1) Uninstall and reinstall the Citrix client. Invalid Credentials This error is typically caused by an incorrectly typed password or user name. 1) Enter your Student Username and Password (the same username and password you use to access MyHugo). Browser Security Settings The user is able to authenticate at the VLAB login page and the applications are available, but the user sees the following warning in the Message Center: Current browser security restrictions may prevent you from launching applications, or may require your explicit permission to proceed. To launch an application successfully, save the launch file if prompted and double-click the file to start the application. This message appears only in Internet Explorer. Firefox and Chrome do not produce the warning. If the user is able to connect to the applications, the message can be ignored. If the user is unable to connect, the resolution is to add the site to the Trusted Sites list in Internet Explorer: Troubleshooting VLAB Connection Issues 34
1) In Internet Explorer, navigate to https://vlab.hodges.edu 2) Click Tools -> Internet Options -> Security tab. Click the Trusted Sites checkmark icon and then click the Sites button. Confirm that the URL https://vlab.hodges.edu appears in the top box, and click the Add button. 3) Click Close and OK to return to the login screen. Log in. Unable to Access data on your computer How to Check the Citrix Receiver Security Settings 1) Log in to the VLAB (http://vlab.hodges.edu) and open Microsoft Word When Word has opened 2) Right-Click on the Citrix Receiver Icon in the Systray (down by the clock) Troubleshooting VLAB Connection Issues 35
