ADAPTIVE INTRO TO SWIM (ages 4 6 years) This program is designed to assist children with special needs, to feel comfortable in the pool. Facilitated by Trent AC swimming instructors and volunteers, Intro to Swim will include an introduction to the basics of swimming. Participants will have the opportunity to practice floats, glides, tows, underwater orientation and skill development. This program will take place in both the warm therapy and 25 m pools. Ratio of two participants to one staff/volunteer. Wednesdays 5:00 5:30 pm Members: $72 Non-members: $90 ADAPTIVE SWIM SKILLS (ages 7 12 years) This program is for youth with special needs who would like to improve their swimming skills in a group and comfortable atmosphere. This program will take place in the 25 m pool. Ratio of two participants to one staff/volunteer. In many cases, ambassadors will share how they acquired their disability, how they became active in their sport, their unique successes and why they love their sport. Children and youth with ASD will be provided with a welcome package including a wooden train whistle, railway safety package as well as a snack.
