Registration is taken on a first-come, first-served basis. There is limited enrollment per camping session so we urge that registration be made early and for the exact number of camping periods desired. The Y will be closed on July 4th REGISTRATION DISCOUNTS Pay in Full Discounts- Pay in full upon registration by March 31st and receive 10% off on all Full Day programs. 2nd Child Discount - 2nd Child Discount will be $50 applied to second child from the same family during the same camp session on all 5 day full day options. $25 will be applied for all 3 day full day options. All discounts apply to Full Day Programs Only. Discount/coupon cannot be combined with any other discounts or offers. Transportation Excluded. CAMP FLEX OPTIONS: Need 1 Week Here? 2 Weeks There? At the Y, we offer 3-week session blocks because we find that consistency helps kids form friendships, advance their swim skills, and experience everything our Summer Day Camps have to offer. That said, we know how busy families CAN T DO THE FULL 3 WEEKS? can be during the summer and if you need more flexibility, we re here to help. If you d like to purchase summer camp weeks a la carte, just come in and let us know which weeks work for your 1 week and 2 week options family. Please be aware that to take advantage of flexible scheduling, you must register in person. Space may be limited. Flexible scheduling is offered based on camp capacity: children who are part of our 3-week sessions have priority on all off-campus trips. The remaining balance must be paid in full 3 weeks prior to the start of the camp session or your child will not be permitted to begin camp. There will be a $10 fee for late payment. MEMBERSHIP FEE All campers are required to be Y members at the time of registration. Membership info is available upon request at the front desk. A youth program membership is $75. FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE Contact Jenette Adams, Outreach Coordinator Jenette.Adams@ymcali.org Financial Assistance is available for qualified individuals. Campership applications must be completed in full and received no later than May 15, 2016 for consideration by the financial assistance committee. Applications are evaluated on a first come first serve basis and are available at the Member Services Desk starting January 9th, 2016. NEW! PARENT ORIENTATION NIGHT First time parents sending your child to camp? Do you have questions about your child s day camp experience? Come down for a question/answer session on what to expect during your child s camp day. Campers will receive schedules on the first day of their camp session and camper s group numbers/ counselors will be mailed home prior to their camp session. Main Street, Bay Shore This unique experience is one of our most successful programs for pre-school children and is designed to provide both physical growth and socialization through fun-filled early childhood activities. Campers use the air-conditioned indoor facilities of the Y pre-school, the enclosed outdoor playground area and have supervised access to the many activity areas of the Y. Activities include swimming lessons, special events, arts and crafts, music, movement and much, much more; staff/camper ratio is 1 to 5. Children eligible for Kiddie Camp must be toilet trained. Depending on scheduling restrictions some activities may not be available for part-time campers (i.e. Inflatables, Water Play, etc.). Main Street, Bay Shore Our Y Youth Camp encourages campers to have fun while participating in group activities, special events and trips which develop creativity, independence, and a sense of teamwork. Campers will partake in art/crafts, dance instruction, music, theatre, karate, sports, cooking, ga-ga, STEM, swimming, rockwall, Spider Climb, waterslides and a whole lot more! Youth Camp is designed to give campers a wide variety of activities, make friends, and build character. Camp activities will run from 9:30am-3:30pm. Depending on scheduling restrictions some activities may not be available for part-time campers (i.e. Rockwall and Inflatables). Options Available: Monday-Friday and Monday/Wednesday/Friday IMAGINATION STATION the FUN way the Y builds literacy skills. The YMCA Imagination Station is an integral component of YMCA summer day camp and helps children prevent the summer slide, the phenomena where students tend to fall back in reading and comprehension during summer months as a result of not reading for three months. Every week, children are encouraged to use their imaginations to act out, draw or even cook what they have read. Thanks to the support of the Rauch Foundation the YMCA provides certified specialists who use an interactive and engaging curriculum created by our Literacy Cabinet for the camp season. Campers age 3 through grade 3 participate in Imagination Station. Children are assessed at the start of camp and at the end of camp. Great South Bay YMCA Summer Day Camp

PERFORMING ARTS CAMP (Completed Grades 5-10th) 8:45am-4:00pm Tiana Christoforidis Director (x148) Tiana.Christoforidis@ymcali.org Sessions 1 and 2 Location: Bay Shore Middle School Session 3 Location: YMCA Boulton Center for the Performing Arts (Completed Grades 3rd-10th) Welcome to our 19th year of Performing Arts Summer Camp Program!! We are excited to offer three 3 week sessions to allow the beginner and experienced performer alike the chance to perform in a variety of shows! Campers work with professional directors/ choreographers towards productions of current hit shows Fiddler on the Roof Jr (session I), High School Musical Jr! (session 2), and Beauty and the Beast Jr (session 3) all taught and performed in a challenging and positive theatre environment. An activity day will be offered once per session at our ACLD Community Center location. Shows subject to change. Free Lunch will be provided by Bay Shore UFSD! For Artist in Training at PA Camp (modeled after our CIT program), contact Tiana Christoforidis at 631.665.4255 x148. The AIT Program runs in 3-three week sessions. ACLD S SPIEGEL CHILDREN S CENTER OFF-SITE CAMPS: Welcome to the state-of-the-art ACLD s Spiegel Children s Center at 67 Greenwood Rd, Bay Shore. This camp program is designed for the camper who wants to participate in camp activities but also travel on various field trips 1-2 times a week. Exceptional activities and a commitment to the true spirit of summer camp will stimulate the natural progression of your older campers. Camp activities will run from 9:00am-3:15pm. Depending on scheduling restrictions, some activities/field trips may not be available for part-time campers. The focus is to keep campers active, learning and playing a wide variety of sports and games in a fun and safe environment. Campers will be spending time between ACLD and Bay Shore Middle School fields to develop their sport skills. Our staff will teach the fundamentals of the sport while promoting self-confidence and self esteem. Your camper will also enjoy other traditional camp activities and even embark on one field trip per session. Free Lunch will be provided by Bay Shore UFSD! COUNSELOR IN TRAINING (CIT) CIT (Counselor in Training) Must be age 15 before December 31, 2016. John Borromeo Director (x182) John.Borromeo@ymcali.org The CIT Program is a unique opportunity for motivated young adults to develop the necessary skills to expand their leadership qualities with hands on learning providing teens the necessary tools in becoming responsible role models for children. CIT s will embark on one fun filled trip per session. At the conclusion of each CIT s session candidates will have developed resume writing, interviewing skills, and CPR/First Aid. CIT candidates must submit an application by May 30th and will be contacted by our CIT director for a required interview. For Artist in Training at PA Camp (modeled after our CIT program), contact Tiana Christoforidis at 631.665.4255 x148. The Artist in Training Program runs in 3-three week sessions. TRANSPORTATION (Completed Kindergarten and up) We provide door-to-door transportation for our Y day campers! Air conditioned mini-buses will pick up campers at their homes and drop off to their respective camp sites during regular camp hours (9AM Drop-Off or 4PM Pickup). This service is not available for Kiddie Camp and all extended programs. A $100 non-refundable deposit is required for each session. Please inquire about towns available for our Transportation Service Round trip option only SPECIAL NEEDS/INCLUSION PROGRAM (Completed Grades K-6th) Jessica Panos Director (x181) Jessica.Panos@ymcali.org This program gives children with special needs the opportunity to have an inclusionary summer camp experience. The Y, in partnership with the LIAM Foundation, will provide shadows (at no cost) for the children that need extra support and guidance. One session per child based upon availability. Parents are required to pay the regular camp fee. LIAM program is not eligible for our Flex Week Option. Financial Assistance is available through our Campership program.
