!!!!! örjan andersson & andersson dance Andersson Dance is a project based company under the direction of Örjan Andersson based in Stockholm, Sweden, funded by the Swedish Arts Council and The Cultural Department of Stockholm. Örjan Andersson explores notions of time, space and movement through a unique style of perception, musicality and construction. Örjan Andersson has created works for NDT 1, Compania Nacional de Danza, the Ballet of Bern, Carte Blanche, Helsinki Dance Company, Cullberg Ballet, the Göteborg Ballet and the Swedish Royal Ballet, amongst others. In 1996 he founded Andersson Dance. 2011 has seen the opening of a work for Skånes Dansteater with music by Sven David Sandström as well as a comission work for the Göteborg Ballet. Both have been praised by critics and audience alike. For the fall of 2011 Örjan Andersson creates a new short work together with composer Hans Appelqvist to be performed together with the praised solo Solo for Asher Lev. The piece Pacing in vaudeville is re-staged and reworked for a touring and performing period in Sweden. NAME OF THE NEXT SONG Andersson Dance in co-production with Aarhus Theatre Opening February 2012 at Aarhus Teater, Aarhus. With inspiration from vast landscapes, from the eye wandering over open fields, from the sudden burst of movement in an otherwise stillness, choreographer Örjan Andersson begins his journey towards his new creation: Name of the next song. The piece is created upon invitation from Aarhus Theatre in Denmark, where the production will open February 10th 2012. Current available productions PHOTO: ERIK BERG Pacing in vaudeville Created in residency in 2009 at Kungsbacka Teater in Sweden, Pacing in vaudeville toured all through Sweden in the same year. Poetic, colorful and performed by 5 superb dancers the piece evoked critical and audience acclaim alike.the piece is now restaged for the fall of 2011 for performances in Stockholm, Sweden and is available for guest performances. Crafted by Örjan Andersson specifically for Asher Lev the solo is a paraphrase on baroque painter Georges de La Tour, whose special realism united chiaroscuro with strict geometry.
