Nottingham is a vibrant city that welcomes over 60,000 students a year. It is ideally located in the heart of the UK with excellent connections to the rest of the country. The city also has its own international airport.
The Arkwright Building was founded in 1877 and is home to Nottingham Trent University s (NTU s) School of Architecture, Design and the Built Environment.
NTU s striking Newton Building has recently benefited from a 90 million regeneration. Improvements include a modern extension with additional student services facilities and the new Central Court that links to the Arkwright Building.
The inside of the new extension is an open, modern space, where students can meet to socialise and relax. The extension also houses the University s Student Services facilities.
The Boots Library is in the centre of the City campus. It houses an extensive selection of learning materials, as well as a large collection of online academic journals.
NTIC is located in the University s Belgrave Centre. The College has its own Student Services Office which provides support and assists international students with their move to the UK and adapting to life in Nottingham. They also organise a wide range of social activities exclusively for NTIC students.
NTIC staff provide dedicated support to help students achieve their academic goals. Each student is assigned a friendly Learning Support Tutor (LST) to give individual advice and help with any academic or non-academic topics.
The College has a variety of facilities available to international students, including a well-equipped computer lab. NTIC students also benefit from full access to the University s facilities throughout their studies.
NTIC has dedicated classrooms and studios for teaching Art and Design programmes. Specialist Art and Design tutors support students during their studies at the College, and help them prepare for their progression on to their University course.
Did you know that in the academic year 2011-12, 100% of students who completed their programme at the College received an unconditional offer to study at NTU?
It s easy to make friends with students from all around the world at NTIC. During the 2011/2012 academic year, the College saw students from 49 different countries complete their programme.
Graduating from NTU can be the beginning of a successful career. 94% of undergraduates and 97%of postgraduates are employed or in full-time study within six months of graduation (of those available to work, HESA 2010-11).
Outside of the classroom, there is plenty to see and do in the city. Nottingham boasts a variety of historical and cultural attractions, including the Old Market Square, one of the UK s largest. The Square is situated in the centre of the City surrounded by shops, cafes and ornate Council House buildings, making it the perfect place to relax and meet friends.
The City of Nottingham is famed for its links to the legend of Robin Hood. Robin Hood was a heroic outlaw, popular in the Medieval period and has since inspired many modern-day books and films. The character is commemorated by the famous Robin Hood statue, situated just outside the walls of the 16th century Nottingham Castle.
Students can enjoy Nottingham s wealth of leisure attractions. The city is known for its excellent nightlife, with a huge variety of bars and clubs on offer. There are two large, multi-screen cinemas showing the latest blockbusters and numerous theatres hosting the latest shows, comedy and music acts - plenty to see and do during students free time!
Nottingham is a thriving city located in the heart of the UK. The city has excellent transport links to the rest of the UK and abroad, and benefits from a state-of-the-art tram system and the largest public bus network in the country. Nottingham was also named Transport City of the Year in the National Transport Awards, 2012.
Sport is a major part of life in Nottingham. The city is home to the Trent Bridge Test Cricket ground, two professional football clubs (Nottingham Forest and Notts County) and a League One ice hockey team. At the University, students have access to more than 70 sports societies and clubs, as well as extensive sports facilities including a sports centre, all-weather pitches and a swimming pool.
