Introduction This diagnostic tool is alignd to rquirmnts for Titl I Schoolwid schools. Th Comprhnsiv Nds Assssmnt must b compltd prior to crating a nw plan or annually updating an xisting school improvmnt plan. Us th rsults of th Comprhnsiv Nds Assssmnt to dvlop Goals/Objctivs/Stratgis and Activitis. Ensur that th Comprhnsiv Nds Assssmnt addrsss all four typs of data: studnt achivmnt data, school programs/procss data, prcptions data (must includ tachrs and parnts; studnt data is ncouragd), and dmographic data. Th Comprhnsiv Nds Assssmnt must also tak into account th nds of migratory childrn as dfind in Titl I, Part C, Sction 1309(2). SY 2016-2017 Pag 36

Componnt 1: Comprhnsiv Nds Assssmnt 1. How was th comprhnsiv nds assssmnt procss conductd? Data from NWEA rsults looking at studnt growth (CGI) basd on Fall to Spring Growth. W also lookd at th rsults basd on dmographics to s if thr ar any pattrns for th school and also grad lvls. Data was also lookd at basd on grad lvl xpctations to s if thr was a pattrn basd on bing at, blow, or abov grad lvl for growth. Furthr mor w lookd at strands within Rading and Math of th NWEA assssmnt for strngths and challngs. Lastly, w ar bginning to gt M-Stp data but only hav on yar so pattrns ar not availabl yt. 2. What wr th rsults of th comprhnsiv nds assssmnt procss? What information was concludd as a rsult of analyzing prcption, studnt achivmnt, school programs/procss, and dmographic data? W found that w ar doing wll as a whol building with progrssing studnts in math and rading. W ar finding that Kindrgartn, 1st, and 2nd ar having mor succss with th amount of growth and mting th nds of low, at grad lvl, and abov grad lvl. Parnt and tachr survys show that diffrntiation is occurring and that it is working. Th data also shows that w hav room for growth in grads 3-9. W will continu to focus on diffrntiation during staff mtings and goal stting. W do nd to look at our black populations numbrs and growth and continu to dvlop plans to support ths studnts and thir familis. 3. How ar th school goals connctd to priority nds and th nds assssmnt procss? It is clar that a dtaild analysis of multipl typs of data was conductd to slct th goals. Th school goals ar alignd to mting all studnts nds and diffrntiation is a rsarchd basd stratgy that hlps all studnts achiv. W ar rmoving som stratgis so that w can focus on gtting bttr with larning and fdback in two or thr stratgis. W usd MAP data and survys this yar as M-STEP has not givn us usabl data for program analysis yt. 4. How do th goals addrss th nds of th whol school population? How is spcial rcognition paid to mting th nds of childrn who ar disadvantagd? Diffrntiation is a stratgy that has bn usd to mt th nds of all studnts and th data w gt from MAP can b brokn down in dmographic and larning lvls of our studnts so that w can mak sur us of th stratgy is hlping disadvantagd studnts. SY 2016-2017 Pag 37

Componnt 2: Schoolwid Rform Stratgis 1. Dscrib th stratgis in th schoolwid plan which focus on hlping ALL studnts rach th Stat's standards. Diffrntiation adjusts taching stratgis to mt th nds of ALL studnts. W ar looking at studnts groupd by how thy compar to grad lvl standards. W ar also focusing on Inquiry basd larning which ngags studnts and whn don corrctly allows all studnts to ntr into a lsson and larn. By doing both of ths and using standard basd rport cards w can mak sur all studnts ar achiving and mting Stat standards. 2. Dscrib how th rsarch-basd mthods and stratgis in th schoolwid plan incras th quality and quantity of instruction (which acclrats and nrichs th curriculum). Diffrntiatd instruction allows a tachr to tach curriculum that mts all studnts' nds at th sam tim. This way tachrs do not hav to rtach contnt or xtnd contnt both of which taks away from tachr othr contnt. This typ of taching also improvs how studnts ar larning and how thy show thir larning which is an improvmnt in quality as wll. W ar also using Inquiry basd larning which allows tachrs to tach largr concpts and not taching dtails. This allows for dpr undrstanding and not losing tim by taching unncssary contnt. It is also instruction that allows for dpr larning and long trm rtntion which is an incras of quality. 3. Dscrib how th rsarch-basd rform stratgis in th schoolwid plan align with th findings of th comprhnsiv nds assssmnt. W found that in grads 3-5 and 7-9 studnts who ar abov grad lvl do not hav th sam amount of growth as studnts at and blow grad lvl. W also found that black studnts ar not having th sam amount of growth and othr studnts, although w ar having mor succss than most schools in our district. Both diffrntiation and inquiry do a bttr job of mting studnts whr thy ar in larning and ltting thm incras thir undrstanding at th sam tim as othr studnts without spnding xtra tim out of class. Thy both lad to dpr undrstanding and opportunitis for growth no mattr what lvl of undrstanding thy ar at including thos abov grad lvl. 4. Dscrib th stratgis in th schoolwid plan which provid a lvl of INTERVENTIONS for studnts who nd th most instructional support in all major subgroups participating in th schoolwid program. Diffrntiation allows for intrvntions for studnts who nd th assistanc. By knowing th lvl of undrstanding a studnt has matrials ar cratd to hlp thm focusd on a targtd ara. W hav studnt tachrs and othr adults who will assist approximatly 45 minuts a day so tachrs can assist studnts who ar struggling or partnr with othr grad lvl tachr to crat groups to hlp mor studnts at th lvl thy nd. By doing this w ar hlping all studnts including subgroups that hav struggld in th past. 5. Dscrib how th school dtrmins if ths nds of studnts ar bing mt. W ar using MAP, Dibls (k, 1, 2) and Rport cards to monitor studnts growth. W ar abl to look at all subgroups and studnt ability SY 2016-2017 Pag 38

lvls to s if diffrntiation is occurring. W ar also using obsrvations, larning walks, and data dialogus to mak sur studnts nds ar bing mt. SY 2016-2017 Pag 39
