We re looking for volunteers that are interested in all kind of art, music, theatre, multimedia, to work with youngster, to empower young people for active participation and are eager to learn new experiences. He/she should be friendly, patient and sympathetic. We expect open minded, creative and highly motivated young people. We would like to host volunteers who have their own ideas to develop our project, who may have a specialized interest in arts & crafts, sports, theatre, multimedia and are fluent in English. About the organization: Institute for Entrepreneurship, Tourism and Youth Brežice ZPTM Brežice unit: Youth centre Brežice (under this name since January 2012, formerly Youth Center Brežice) is a public institution with a basic emphasis on work with and for the young people, focused onto the identification of needs, young people's interests, providing facilities and programs to satisfy those interests and presenting interesting content in our environment. Since 2012 our center is focused on the topic of Entrepreneurship, Tourism and Youth in local community. We have been active in the field of working with young people for more than 15 years. At this time, it employs 22 experts youth workers, who are involved with activities such as non formal education, culture, multimedia centre, youth multimedia production, entrepreneurship, information and counselling, children's program, international activities and projects, tourist information network, promoting and implementing activities in the field of entrepreneurship and tourism. Our regular activities include information, concert activities, exhibitions, literary evenings and travelogue lectures, supporting local youth culture, children's and holiday programs, international activities (Youth in Action, Erasmus+). We coordinate the work of local active groups that promotes entrepreneurial thinking of young people. We organize monthly concerts of popular and alternative music, festivals, theatrical performances, exhibitions, literary events, travelogue lectures. We offer an info point to all our visitors the point where they can find information material in from various fields and in the club/bar, we have free access to daily and weekly newspapers and also trade journals.

For all visitors, working with and for young people and youth groups who work on their own projects, we have a music rehearsal room, multimedia computer room with a computer for video editing, music studio, big concert hall (700 people), gym, outside playground, big conference room and classrooms, playroom for children, exhibition hall, bar with stage, park, Internet access, scanner and printer, and the project area with the entire office infrastructure. We also own and run Youth Hostel Brežice which is situated in the same place, same venue. ZPTM Brežice works successfully in Slovenia and also on the international level. We would like to point out our goal of enhancing existing international cooperation in various fields. We aim to make our local area more open for cultural production, education, international cooperation and exchange of good practice in youth work. The international cultural center with accommodation facilities is located close to the city center of Brežice, in the green heart of the city park, just a stone's throw away from the Brežice castle. The city of Brežice and its surroundings are marked by a rich natural and cultural heritage. We put a special emphasis on supporting and promoting international cooperation and intercultural exchange. ZPTM is a member of the Network of Youth Centres of Slovenia MaMa, YouthNET network, ImeNet network, multimedia centres of Slovenia network M3C, etc. In 2013, the institute also acquired a Label of quality awarded by the Council of Europe.

Through the work, EVS volunteers will get very good experience from different field of work. Mainly working with youngsters (preparing and organizing workshop for children/youngsters and motivating them to be more active), but also getting to know with the topic of multimedia, learning new languages Slovenian, improve their level of English, helping in organizing events, helping in implementing different kind of projects etc. The main activities will be organized considering the competences and the attitudes of each volunteer, example: art and theatre workshops, concerts, festivals, multimedia production, books production, summer camps, music, sport and outdoor activities, healthy life style and healthy food, gardening, etc. We want to work with enthusiastic, good tempered, active youngsters, who have a wish share their interests with youngsters, whose skills will be helpful and valuable for our organization and local community. The young volunteers will be integrated in all daily activities depending on their interests and their potentialities. All of our staff members are open minded, so it will be easy for the volunteers to feel comfortable in the team. The aim of this project is to encourage the volunteers and the local youth to reflect on the role they play in society and how they can contribute to improving it. Tasks of volunteers: Proposed Activities: Youth centre Brežice, amongst other activities, is also organizing and preparing all sorts of events (concerts, festivals, fairs, lessons, courses, arts and workshops for youngsters and adults), multimedia production (photo, video), EVS promotion activities. We wish that volunteer would be mainly involved in these activities. The volunteer will be encouraged to help to make a plan and run those activities. The volunteers will implement their own projects and get help with this. He/she will also have the possibility to learn and get to know other activities and projects we work at, and he/she could contribute his/her own ideas and personal interests to the programs. The personal mentor will assign the project / contact person to the participant, so he/she can always ask this person for help or guidance. Volunteer will never run activities alone; there will always be mentor or some other animators, who will help with translations. Volunteer will work at (suggested activities): Once a week the volunteer could organize a thematic activity according to his/her talents (The volunteer will be free to fill in this activity as he/she wishes!; for example: creative

activities art&crafts, music, video, photography ), workshops on healthy life style and healthy food, sport activities, non formal education During one week school holidays (every two months) volunteer can organize different group activities, workshops (sport day, art day, games day, ) Once a month she/he could prepare intercultural activities (workshop where youngster could learn about the country where volunteer comes from. Example of such activities: music (special instruments, dance, music from your country), literature (story/fairy tales), food (special and local ingredients from your country), culture, ) In the end of the project volunteer will have to present a results of all activities and results of individual project that he/she will plan and implement, together with the staff of the organization Native language lessons for youngsters or adults Volunteers will also help to organize summer camps and other artistic, cultural activities for youngsters Will also have a chance to take part in intergenerational activities Will also have a chance to work in the field of tourism and promotion of local products and local destination Volunteer has also be able to prepare and design posters & flyers for this activities, therefore some basic computer skills of design programs are welcome, we will also provide tutoring Volunteers will encourage local youth for active participation through different activities and encourage them to be creative Volunteers will be encouraged to create their own projects, develop their own ideas. Staff of the centre, specially coordinator and mentor, will support and help them to implement their ideas. In case we would need additional support and help in specific topics we will connect with local experts, organizations and institutions since centre has successfully build big and quality networks and partnerships on local, national and international level. Criteria: We are looking for young people who are open, motivated to make a difference, willing to work in an international team! If you like to work with youngsters, and have art and multimedia (photography and video skills) that is a large plus. We expect the volunteer to be highly motivated for working in our organization and to have the willingness to do different work. The volunteer has to be willing and capable to work well both independently and in groups. We try to promote EVS among our youth as much as possible and to involve them in projects according to their interest regardless of their background, education, gender, religion, etc.

We ask for a motivation letter and CV. The selection is made based on the CV and motivation letter. Candidates who will be required to attend the second selection will be asked to fill an additional questionnaire. We are looking for 2 volunteers from two different countries. We expect the sending organization to be dedicated to the project, to be able to communicate well and quickly with us and after all to prepare the volunteer very well.
