UCL s International Summer School for Undergraduates gives you the chance to study with us for three or six weeks over the summer and gain credit towards your degree programme. AN EXCITING NEW OPPORTUNITY FOR STUDENTS TO STUDY FOR THREE OR SIX WEEKS IN THE HEART OF LONDON. London London is one of the world s great cities there s always something happening, and a huge range of attractions and activities to suit every taste. As well as world-famous historical sites like the Tower of London, Tower Bridge and the Houses of Parliament, you can also find 170 museums, 850 art galleries, nearly 800 cinema screens and over 200 shows per day playing across the West End. There is always a vast range of lectures and talks, cultural and sporting events, tours and shopping opportunities on offer. You ll have plenty of time during the Summer School to explore London, whether it s in order to enhance and augment your study, or purely for pleasure.
About the UCL International Summer School for Undergraduates The Summer School is divided up into two blocks, each spanning three weeks (dates can be found below). You can choose to attend for one block, or both, and you will select one module per block. All classes take place during the daytime on the Bloomsbury campus, with teaching and additional activities from Monday to Thursday. You will be taught via a combination of lectures and smaller discussion groups, with class visits and guest speakers to further enhance your learning. The final Friday of each block is allocated for assessment. While some personal study is encouraged in order to succeed, evenings and weekends are clear to allow you to explore the city of London and further afield. With 17 libraries and 5 permanent collections on campus, and all of London s museums, galleries and monuments within easy reach, you will have a wealth of resources to support your studies. Modules Each Summer School module is worth 0.5 UCL credits, which is equivalent to 4 US credits or 7.5 ECTS. Depending on the regulations at your home institution it may be possible to transfer credits gained to your own degree programme. Social programme We want you to make the most of your time in London, and have curated a series of events to help you to do just that! Alongside a number of free events such as welcome drinks, keynote talks and guided explorations of the city, we will also offer a range of events in and around London. From tickets to west end shows, historical and cultural attractions, to daytrips venturing outside of London, there will be something for everyone.
