SAE 45 Flared Brass Fittings Advantages This economical fitting resists mechanical pullout. Can be assembled and disassembled repeatedly. Manufactured from CA 360, CA 345 or CA 377 brass. Specifications Listed with Underwriter s Laboratories for flammable liquid, marine, refrigeration and gas applications. Meets functional requirements of SAE, ASA, ASME and MS (Military Standards). Applications Use with copper, brass, aluminum and welded steel hydraulic tubing that can be flared. Manufactured especially for hard-to-hold liquids and gases. Temperature Ranges From -65 to +250 F. Vibration Short nut may be used when vibration is minimal. The long nut offers additional vibration capacity. Sizes Tube sizes are determined by the numbers of sixteenths of an inch in the tube O.D. Working Pressure Ranges Temperature and type of tubing used are important factors. However, the following table is a good guide for proper selection. Place nut onto tube. Place threaded end of nut toward 3. Flare tube end with flaring tool to provide 45 flare. 4. Clamp tube flare between nut and nose of fitting body by screwing nut on finger-tight. Tighten with a wrench for a metal-to-metal seal. Prestolok Brass Fittings Advantages Compact one piece brass fitting for use with polyethylene, nylon or soft metal tubing. This fitting is specially designed for low pressure circuits where fast assembly, disassembly and reassembly is important. No special tools are needed for assembly; just insert the tubing into the fitting until it bottoms. Prestolok is designed to be used with no tube support. Radial claws on the metal grab ring grip the tubing securely to provide retention. Once in the fitting, the tubing can rotate freely even under pressure. Prestolok features swivels on male pipe threaded shapes for installation in tight places and for precise positioning only. Prestolok should not be used for live swivel applications. Sealing is obtained with a nitrile O-ring. Prestolok can be assembled and disassembled repeatedly without impairing its ability to seal. The outside diameter of the tubing to be used with the fitting is marked on the push sleeve. Sizes 1/4" and above have internal hexes broached for installation with an allen wrench in confined areas and close porting applications. Working Pressure and Temperature Ranges Zero to 150 F. at up to 285 psi. Vacuum applications are dependent upon temperature and type of tubing being used. Applications Use with Parker series "E" polyethylene tubing, Parker Parflex series "N" nylon tubing or soft metal tubing. Prestolok is designed to conduct air, water, oil and inert gases. Prestolok is ideal for use in pneumatic instrumentation circuits and many industrial applications.
