MIGA offers a team of senior personnel with significant experience in all aspects of medical and professional indemnity insurance. The following professional staff are supported by a team of administrative assistants who are pivotal to ensuring all aspects of our business are executed and delivered consistent with our quality and service culture. Mandy Anderson CEO and Managing Director Mandy has an extensive insurance career having held senior management positions in insurance broking with Sedgwick Ltd and insurance and risk management consulting with KPMG. Mandy joined MIGA just prior to the medical indemnity crisis of 2000/2001. She has not only successfully guided MIGA and its clients through the most difficult and challenging time in its history, but the organisation has continued to grow nationally both in its client base and reputation. Bachelor of Arts, Social Sciences Senior Associate Australian & New Zealand Institute of Insurance and Finance Business Certificate in Insurance Natalie Simmons Corporate Services Manager Corporate Services Prior to joining MIGA Natalie gained significant experience in corporate accounting roles with FH Faulding and Co and Mobil Oil Australia. Natalie s team provides accounting, business and IT services internally and completes all of our statutory and Medicare Australia reporting. Prior to this she worked as a claims manager in the public health system and prior to that as a legal practitioner in private practice. Anthony Mennillo Senior Claims Solicitor MIGA Profiles of Key Personnel Claims & Medico-legal Support Anthony is a legal practitioner with many years experience, specialising in medical negligence and medical disciplinary matters. Prior to joining MIGA he worked with a major legal practice specialising in this area. Anthony takes an active role in the legal advice service and the management of claim files including briefing and instructing external panel solicitors. (Hons) Bachelor of Science (Jurisprudence) Year joined MIGA 2004 Marie-Clare Elder Senior Claims Solicitor Marie-Clare is a legal practitioner who has specialised in health, medical negligence and personal injury litigation within the insurance and public hospital environments. A former clinical nurse specialist in intensive care, she also brings to the role a wealth of healthcare knowledge and first-hand healthcare experience. In her role Marie-Clare heads up our Claims Department in Sydney and is responsible for the provision of general legal advice and the management of litigated claims, coronial inquests and employment matters. Master of Laws Bachelor of Nursing Admitted to Practice as a barrister and solicitor in the Supreme Court of New South Wales, and the United Kingdom Victoria Webster Claims Solicitor Prior to joining MIGA, Victoria worked as a private legal practitioner specialising in medical negligence and personal injury litigation. A former physiotherapist, Victoria brings to the role a wealth of healthcare knowledge and experience in medico-legal matters. Victoria is also involved in claims management, instructing in coronial and medical board matters and provides advice and support to MIGA policy holders. (Hons) Bachelor of Arts (Jurisprudence) Diploma Physio (AUA) Mark Helier Claims Solicitor Mark joined the Claims Department after working in MIGA s Risk Management Department. He has previously worked as a physiotherapist, and after gaining his law degree worked in private legal practice and then managing workers compensation claims for an insurer and an exempt employer. In his role Mark provides advice and support to MIGA policy holders through his involvement in claims management and instruction in coronial and medical board matters. Underwriting & Client Services Maurie Corsini Underwriting Manager Maurie has held underwriting, claims management, account management and consulting roles in the broking and general insurance industry for over 39 years. Maurie brings a wealth of experience to MIGA and has been instrumental in the ongoing development of our insurance policies. Associate Diploma of Arts Qualified Practising Insurance Broker - to May 1999 Associate of the National Insurance Brokers Association - to May 1999 Nihal D Cruz Underwriting and Risk Education Manager - Eastern Nihal joined MIGA following the acquisition of Invivo. Prior to that Nihal held underwriting, risk management and claims roles with Invivo, Primary Health Care Ltd and Allianz Australia. Nihal brings considerable experience in both insurance and risk management. In his role, he is responsible for underwriting and risk education in the eastern states. Master of Insurance and Risk Management Diploma in Financial Services Senior Associate, Australian and New Zealand Institute of Insurance and Finance Bachelor of Science Karen Erlandsen Client Services Manager As manager of our Client Services Department, Karen draws on over 20 years banking experience in the areas of customer service, staff training and recruitment. Karen leads a dedicated team with a strong focus on providing quality advice and personal service to our client base. The high service ratings we achieve in our ongoing market research are testament to our team s commitment. Carolyn Norris Client Relationship Manager Carolyn has 25 years underwriting experience and prior to joining MIGA was responsible for underwriting both single risk and whole of account programs primarily focussing on casualty business including General Liability, Umbrella Liability, Professional Indemnity, Directors and Officers Liability and Medical Malpractice. Carolyn is responsible for MIGA s Group insurance arrangements and The Midwife Insurance Scheme. Underwriting & Client Services Neil Rankine Business Development Manager - Corporate Neil s insurance career spans over 40 years, encompassing many different lines of insurance, in both underwriting and broking. His broad experience has proven invaluable in the successful launch of our Business Medical Indemnity product across Australia. Senior Associate, Australian and New Zealand Institute of Insurance and Finance Year joined MIGA 2006 New Business & Retention Tim Hall Business Relationship Manager - Western Tim leads our Western New Business and Retention Team with the objective of providing the best advice and product solutions to our clients. He has 25 years of frontline sales experience including leadership of retail banking branches, mobile lenders and financial planners. Diploma of Business - Frontline Management Year joined MIGA 2011 Cassandra Schrader Business Relationship Manager - Eastern Cassandra joined MIGA following the acquisition of Invivo. She has experience in sales and marketing having spent 10 years extensively in finance and insurance and 5 years in retail. The last 9 years have been in the medical indemnity industry. Cassandra leads our Eastern New Business and Retention Team with the objective of providing the best advice and product solutions to our clients. Risk Management Liz Fitzgerald Risk Services Manager Liz is a qualified nurse and holds a. Liz adds great depth to our risk management team with her medical and legal backgrounds combining to provide unique insights. During her nursing career Liz practised in Australia and the USA and in many areas of nursing including as a midwife and as a Flight Nurse with the RFDS. Bachelor of Nursing Aviation Nursing Certificate Critical Care Certificate Year joined MIGA 2005 Keryn Hendrick Risk Education Manager Keryn is responsible for the ongoing development of our Risk Management Program for clients. Prior to joining us Keryn developed and managed a similar style of Risk Management Program for the Law Society of South Australia, delivering risk education to legal professionals. Keryn has over 29 years experience working either as a practising lawyer, consultant or risk manager. Year joined MIGA 2003 Human Resources Management Jane O Sullivan Human Resources Manager Jane plays a pivotal role in the ongoing development and delivery of MIGA s Human Resource strategies, policies and procedures. She brings over 20 years of HR management experience to the role with specific focus on employee recruitment/retention, performance management, staff training and professional development.
