Sep 2006 Jul 2007 Research Assistant Social Psychology, VU University Amsterdam, working with Wilco van Dijk and Nils Jostmann). RESEARCH INTERESTS My research examines the context sensitivity of judgment and decision-making, with an emphasis on social cognition and sensory and embodied processes. I utilize strong experimental methods to examine how physical characteristics of the context can have surprising psychological consequences in apparently unrelated domains. My particular interest is in how sensory perceptions of distance can influence attitudes, judgment, and decision-making, for instance when choice options are physically close together, or far apart. Furthermore, I examine how psychological states such as am bivalence and feelings of importance are reflected in embodied processes like weight perception and body movement. keywords: social cognition, embodiment, judgment and decision-making PEER REVIEWED ARTICLES Topolinski S., Zürn M., and Schneider I.K.
